Robot Vacuum Cleaners Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of robot vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
needs to recharge 4 times for a 67min clean only after 18 months
Let me start by saying yes, I am out of warranty. Having said that, I would expect the vacuum cleaner battery to last longer that 18 months especially given is regular but not very frequent use (notification for Side brushes replacement only just came up).
Having paid $800 at Costco and not the $400 you get one for nowadays I was hoping to get a little better service from Ecovacs but unfortunately nothing other that "Send it over, pay $100 and maybe more when we understand what's wrong"
It is pretty clear that the battery is dead and I have suggested for them to send me a battery and I'll replace it (only 4 screws), but they tell me they don't sell the batteries separately.
Purchased in September 2021 at Costco NSW, Auburn for $799.00.

Deebot is the man
I have owned 2 iRobot machines previously (older models) and they were ok, but new models are crazy expensive. I started looking for reasonably priced machines with greats views and came across the Deebot - who is my new best mate. He is absolutely amazing - easy to operate, does a great job and never complains.

Very clever - some improvement required though
A month ago we bought our Deebot Ozmo 900 from Aldi for AUD400.00. . Good value for money.
We use it on tiled floor, but also on carpeted floors, alltogether on some 300sqm. Cleaning wise it does a good job. The tracking is excellent, it does all, without leaving any areas out and when finished, it returns to the charging station.
Every now and the it wants assistance, you can’t just leave it alone. Well, you can and it will wait for you to assist.
At the end of a job it makes, or updates the floor plan. Unfortunately it often keeps loosing th...Read more

Run machine 2 times a day then it is clean enough
The turbo brush tangle very easily, so don't use it that often or unsupervised. Every run tends to need 1 to 2 human interventions. I use the mopping function with mild bleach (1:100) to sterilize the floor. It pick up dog hair, like 1 basket full if you use the turbo brush, half a basket full if not the turbo brush. It tends to pull all the tablets down from bedside table if you do not block off the area. The mopping function can even work on carpet if you set water flow to low.

Perfect everyday cleaning
I have polished concrete floor and a dog and cat. I was so impressed how well it cleaned the floor leaving it shiny clean. It does a great job picking up pet hair and fluff. The dust compartment was full after the first vaccum. The battery lasts for the entire duration of the clean which lasts over an hour . Very sleek and well designed.

Easy to set up to app awesome clean
Bought this from Aldi for $399. Easy set up on app. Charged vac and off it went and mapped our house. Clean was very good on our carpet and hard floors. I just moved thicker mats as our last robo vac had trouble with these. Did not get stuck once (our last one did constantly) and made its way straight back to charging dock. It is also a lot quieter then our last one which was another brand. Could not be happier and awesome price. Thanks

Don't waste your money
I'll be returning this item tomorrow. Struggles to pick up small light fluff from carpet and leaves unsightly lines all over carpet. Ok on tiles but very poor on carpeted areas.

Can't for the life of me set up the app
I had the Deboot 610 which I LOVED. Upgraded to the 900 and get nothing but errors trying to add it to the app. Doesn't come with a remote like the 610 so be buggered if I know how to use it without the app.

Good but could not better
The Ecovacs Robot vacuum is so easy to use. Setting virtual walls was easier than the Xiaomi robot and other brands. However, the bin is a bit too small so as the battery.

Great technology but very little suction power.
If you are after the ability to map, set virtual walls, send it to clean where you choose, control it by voice and see where its been then this one has all that and more. The problem is its suction power even on boost is average at best and its idea of mopping is just to wet the floor with a pad. I took mine back because i couldn't justify what I paid for it, especially as it took nearly a week to figure out how to map my house.

Fantastic value robot vacuum that is able to keep up with a very messy household.
From the start, I found this robot vacuum very easy to use. Simply download the app, set up it's charging dock and once it's ready, set it loose! WIth no change to the default settings, it managed to go between tile and carpet with no issues. A very robust robot that is able to traverse slightly uneven floor quite easily (be warned it can drive over door sills and end up upside down outside.) The included mopping feature is great for a quick mop during the week doing a decent job.
The app is fantastic. Once your robot has mapped out your home...Read more
(took mine 3 full runs) you can set virtual boundaries to limit where it does, or use the areas that it sets by itself for cleaning parts of your house. Overall, for the price it performs exceptionally well, and I've no hesitation in buying a Deebot robot again in the future.Purchased in September 2021 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $799.00.

She's now a part of the family!!!
The Deebot 900 ( or as we like to call her, susan) is easy to fall in love with. It's cute, it's effective and it seems to love doing the vacuuming; which is a job I hate. It has a few quirks, and requires a bit of supervision, but overall it is a great machine.
What we love about susan, its an Attractive piece of equipment, sleek design, app Mapping is impressive and addictive to watch, Cleaning is good for your day to day clean ups.
What could be improved. Losing map data happens often and is annoying. Won't clean deep into carpets or rug...Read more
s. Can get a bit confused with some obstacles, like around four legged chairs. The tray that catches dirt has a 350ml capacity. I had to empty it a few times on first use as it did a full clean, but now the bin is definitely large enough for the daily run. You will have to pick up all small sized objects off your floor before it starts it's clean, as it can get trapped and stop the cleaning process. So if you have small children with toys lying around its best to pick them all up before it is turned on. I have mine schedualed to clean at 9pm which gives me time to tidy up a bit first and to make sure thefe are no obstacles lying around. Overall susan has been one of the best investments I've ever made. I promise you won't be disappointedPurchased in July 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for $599.00.

Deebot 600 is also a good robot vacuum cleaner
Hi everyone,
We recently purchased an EchoVacs Deebot 600 and boy it is an impressive little robot it does a great job on our wooden floors and an Ok job on carpet.
I have found you do need to supervise them at home or at least make sure you have everything picked up off the ground including cables as it does have a habit of getting itself in a pickle every so often.
We have found that running this regularly in combination with a Dyson stick vac will mean your house is twice as free from dust with about half as much effort.
Fully Wi-Fi controlled too so you can integrate it into your Home Automation system if you were so inclined.
Overall well worth it.

I am in love with this machine.
I got this Deebot 900 after using a cheap Kogan one for sometime, which I might add did a great job. I was concerned the Kogan one cleaned randomly and I wasn’t sure exactly what was cleaned. The Deebot connects to my phone and creates a map of the house and cleans every single area. It shades in every area on the app as it works it way around. It is quite gentle as it approaches things it has to go around, it doesn’t bash into things quite so hard like the other one we had. I have all hard floors - no carpet and my house has never felt clea...Read more
ner. You can set it off to clean while you are not at home via the app, and you can see exactly where it is at any time. It kept us amused the first time we set it off, it was good to see it going up and down so we knew it was doing it’s job. We are retired now so it really is a pure indulgence on our part, boy would I have loved this when I worked full time! There were a few negative comments on the mapping app when I was researching, but they have a new update now and we haven’t found any problems with this. Busy people will love this machine. It isn’t the cheapest one on the market but there are a lot more expensive ones than this, and after reading all I could find on them this one came out tops for us.Similar opinion? I have a very plush carpet n my Xiaomi Robo could not clean it at all. Does anyone know of this one can clean very plush carpets?
1 answer
It handles our rug fine it's on the lower side of plush (1.5cm thick), however the app does have an option to increase the suction power when it detects carpet. It's quite a noticeable increase too.
Amanda H.asked
Hi was wondering does it stop and turn at stairs
1 answer
I don't have stairs to test it on. I would guess no, unless you set up the virtual boundary on the units map. Mine has traversed the laundry door rail and ended up outside twice already.
