Suggest mounting directly to the centre of the back wall behind the ensuite cabinets. I have one fitted to mine and works fine. Drilled down through floor below draws and ran the cables right to the A frame.

Worked it out. Despite negative info from Jayco, removed rear brake light and white corner light, using yellow tongue and multi strand stainless wire, I was able to retrieve the two 4 pin cables and attach the cameras each side of the brake light at top and then route through 32mm flex conduit underneath van to front A bar and using sealable boxes where connections took place under van. Very prof. and waterproof. Cameras work well but down on colour on monitor. Voltage drop possibly??? About 15m for each cable to car connection. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

I have a 2018 silverline. Vent for fridge is on the annex side. Will I have to disconnect gas if I use an annex?

Hi John. We had a full shade annex made and the supplier ensured we were aware that, if we used gas to run the fridge, then we would have to remove the front and back walls to allow for full flow through ventilation. Otherwise having the annex was no problem.
Hope this helps.

flippa

John, we had the same van. If your fridge develops a gas leak, the gas, being heavier than air will seek the lowest point, that being the steps in the doorway. There is a vent in the steps so the gas can disperse under the van. If your annexe is up, there should be vents at each end and in the wind skirt to do the same. They will be on the bottom edge. Also, there should be vents at the top of each end to disperse heat coming from fridge vent. Hope this helps. Flippa58.

Hi mate
Are you using a 15amp cord/plug?
Could be a fuse, but check that your cord is 15amp one.
Otherwise I would suggest going back to Jayco dealer for them to check. Your can has a 12 month warranty.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2016 21.5 silverline. We had a third water tank installed. Just wondering if someone else has 3 & if so how do you set the switch under the fill up station to use the tanks. Ours has a switch with arrow that turns full circle. My question is which way should it be pointing to use each tank. Just when I think I have it worked out & I change from front tank to middle tank the pump comes on & won’t shut off with water spluttering from tap. How to remedy? Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Hi Karen M,
We have a 2015 Jayco Silverline witha third water tank Brisbane Camperland said they fixwd our problem with the third tank but they never did, went to Caravan Repair Co. on Gold Coast they tell me the pump is not string enough to drag water from the rear (extra) tank. so this is where we are at after 3.5 years.
1 The Switch when it is pointing the front of the van draws water from the front tank. 2 When the switch is pointing up It supposed to draw water from the middle tank, but it draws water from the middle and front tank.3 With the switch pointing to the back of the van it supposed to drag water from the rear (extra) tank but all it does is drag air. I have even renewed the pick up line from the switch to the tank with the same result air.
I thought I may be the only one with the problem, but we should some how get Jayco to fix the problem and if they cant refund us the money we paid for an extra tank, this is my third Jayco if I get another I will not accept a warranty fix until I see it working.

Hi Karen
We have a 2015 21.65 Silverline with 3 tanks. Same problem when purchased and dealer wasn’t helpful. Found that the third tank has an inline tap on the outlet pipe just left of the tank. I leave this open and it seems to empty with middle tank.
The valve with the arrows up-off, forwards-front, down-middle, backwards-rear (don’t use this setting as rear tank drains with middle tank).
Also, install a non-return valve on the outlet side of the water pump and one under the van on the mains water line where it comes out under the floor. I have done this and have had no problems since.
Hope this helps.....Bob

Can someone please help? Have a silverline 2018 model, when i plug in the 12v connector in the car the light on the stabilizer should turn green, but it doesn't it stays red. What should I do? Also the plumbing is a bit how do you do. Water from the kitchen sink is very slow to drain.

O.K Spus re. the red light, Make sure your motor is running before you plug in, that should fix the problem.
Regarding the Kitchen sink slow draining, is a common problem, do away with the S bend under sink that should fix the problem, but you are right pluming is a bit how do you do. I had a 3rd water tank installed, but pump is not strong enough to drag water from 3rd tank at back of caravan, and in general plumbing just does not work, it is the worst part of the Silverline. Tried to get it fixed under warranty and every Jayco dealer said " Shea's o.k. now" but it never was.

Harry K.
Harry K.

Hi spud. If you're still having problems with the esc power then i suggest you check power to the correct pins on both the car and van connectors and that the connectors are clean and not corroded.
As for the drainage we carry a plumbers mate and plunge the sinks regularly. I also don't have the van dead level but with a slight front up attitude which helps.
Good luck.

Hi Meg. I had 2 windows replaced due to cracking and at the time of winning my court case against Jayco for over 50 issues, I had 4 more windows beginning to crack. They tried to say I used the wrong cleaning product but I advised I used soapy water as instructed by Dometic. Hope this helps.

PudNJo

We have problems with 3 windows now cracking, one started cracking after being taken out of shed 2 days earlier, basically happened right before our eyes. Jayco tried to tell us it was wrong cleaning products which seems to be their common excuse and is a load of crap. 3 year old silverline outback which is stored in a shed, about to go on tour VIC and SA with duct taped windows and appropriate signage to advertise the fact.

Cocky. We have the outback 25ft for nearly three years and love it. It's got higher suspension and checker plate side protection. You can have the tourer with the same suspension you only have to ask. Also if you are buying new ask Jayco for the vin plate to be upgraded to the maximium payload

Havn't tried it yet but we had the same problem and my daughter told me to (where possible) run it on gas and not on 230v or 12v and she said it will work a lot better. Also to save water etc. turn on shower hop under, turn off shower, soap up and then turn it back on to rinse off. You may have left enough water for the next person.

I have a Jayco Silverline bought in Nov 2014. The washing machine comes up with an error that in book says is blocked water outlet My question is how do you get to drain hose at the back of the unit when the machine is enclosed in its cupboard? Also when you blow into the hose it doesn't seem blocked as it makes bubbles in water and when the hose is sucked water will drain !!

I found with the same model I was slamming the door to make sure it was shut, after I had the door come open driving home from first service. I find the best way is to hold the door handle out and shut normally, also handle down when inside, u can see the latches engage. This way no slamming required... when closing the outer door to screen door, just press on the outside vicinity of each (4) latches to ensure they lock in, then make sure u use the two white twist locks.

Yes it’s correct. This is a change in the that is since 2017 it’s a new safety feature that prevents the slide out motors opening the slide out when your driving. I unplug it anyways as the fridge will flatten your car battery if you don’t unplug it

Swiftyc

Just confirming that older models of the sterling and first silver lines allowed you to open the slide out with it connected

Hi mate it depends which year it is

I have just bought the latest 2017 25 silverline outback it has some of the problems of my previous model and some new issues

Is it new or second hand?
What additional accessories are on it?

Let me know and I can give you an inspection sheet which might help buying a van.

The minor defects are outweighed by the styling and most importantly they make a great towable chassis. I’ve had mine up to ridiculous speeds to check it’s stability and it was more than adequate.

We brought a new Silverline in May 2017. I now understand I am not the only Jayco customer with a poorly designed water pressure regulator and non return valve. There are other problems like leaks and range hood fan which turns itself on and off. My question are these faults enough to go after Jayco for selling goods not fit for the purpose?

2 answers
BFC
BFC

Rick,
Like all products it's possible to get faulty ones. I too have had the water pressure regulator stop working on my van but it has taken 3 years to fail. I replaced it with a known brand, not the unbranded one Jayco used but according to the plumbing store I purchased it from even the well known brands don't last either.
As to your other issues of leaks and range hood fans turning off and on then in my experience with Jayco I would call them to arrange for all issues to be fixed under warranty.

Shandi
Shandi

Sorry to hear you are unhappy with your van, we have found Jayco to be only too happy to repair anything that needed to be done, even out of warranty. So, it might be an idea to go to a Jayco dealer, or contact Jayco, and ask them to repair the problems.
