Lies Lies and more Lies
Promised money refund.... think the person who didn't do the valet also deals with money transfers... he does these with his hands tied behind his back....happy with the car but the service very negative will never buy from here again and definitely never recommend.. Stay clear full of false promises.

Poor after sale service
Purchased a used Ford Ranger almost 3 months ago. Found that the tail shaft was loose took it to a drive shaft specialist and was told the yoke was loose on the shaft and would need to be replaced. Gave John Hughes the opportunity to repair under the 3 month statutory warranty and was told not covered although the Consumer protection guide for used car warranties for dealers state that driveshafts/tail shafts all components covered. Not happy that general sales manager did not come back to me after he said he would check again. Had to phone him after 3 days, no apology for not responding and was just told not covered again. Very poor service and will not be dealing with John Hughes again and certainly would not recommend.

Awesome customer service; excellent product purchased
A big thank you to Jeremy; at John Hughes. From the minute we arrived at the dealership; we were treated with professionalism and courtesy. Jeremy’s knowledge of cars is outstanding, and the whole buying process was totally stress-free……. not once did we experience any pushiness which is usually the norm at other dealerships. Not only did we purchase an awesome vehicle in our Jeep Cherokee, we were made to feel totally comfortable with the entire purchasing process. Jeremy displayed a genuine concern for what our requirements were; we opted to ...Read more
have the Jeep’s windows tinted and the paint protection done and Jeremy went over and above our expectations by organising a courtesy car until said modifications were carried out. We will definitely purchase again from John Hughes in future.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Drove just 6619km and motor blew up
We purchased a Hyundai with relatively low km on the speedo. After driving it just 6700km over an 8 month period, the motor blew up. The temperature gauge never went to high. It always had water and oil. It wasn't even due yet for the first service since we purchased it! Within literally a minute of the temperature gauge showing high and pulling over on the side of the road, the car lost power. That was our first indication of motor trouble...it blowing up! Our independent advice suggests pre existing damage to the vehicle, which contrave...Read more
nes their independent advice. So we are $4500 out of pocket after spending $10,999 on the vehicle just mere months ago. Very disappointed is an understatement. I wish I had read more reviews prior to purchase on their used car sales history, as I now notice this isn't the first instance of problems with second hand car purchases from this dealership.

Don’t buy a used car from this tycoon
My partner bought a 2016 barina from this mob.
Hadn’t done many kms, with in the 5 months she has owned it so much has gone wrong with this car.
From the first month they didn’t want to no about it.
Crooks.
And he comes across as your tusting grandpa
That’s the gimmick I reckon, selling cars like barinas
and lancers to young people who don’t have much life experience.
I’ll buy a car from grandpa John he seems nice

I’m so disgusted in this company
I bought a 2016 Hyundai Accent last year . I took it back 12 times the motor was making a noise. They put a new motor in it March this year.within a week or 2 it made same noise. They wanted to hear the noise face to face. In which they have heard it prior of putting new motor in . They never offered to replace the car or my money back.

I beg you NOT to give in to any sales deal
I saw a deal online and decided to go test drive the car. Visited John Hughes Vic Park and was pretty happy with the drive. Was hoping to get some extras or better price offer but they are so busy that they don't care. If you don't buy it, someone else will. I also decided I would trade in my old car and turns out to be MY WORST regret in life. I was initially offered a super low $250 when I could sell it privately for $3000 (I know there is the hassle of doing that) but this was all part of their strategy because by me saying "I was expecting ...Read more
at least $500 for the old car", the deal was done without being able to negotiate further on a much better deal. It didn't occur to me I could have gone to the scrap yard and got myself $2000 easily until I signed the contract papers and gone home processing it all. I cannot stress enough how much you have to be vigilant with car salesperson. They will at any point in time try and find your weakness and that would be the end of your negotiation or lack thereof. If you have a friend who knows how to bargain, bring him/her along or you will be played. I have learnt my lesson and it has cost me a few grand. I wrote this review hoping you will do your research and be prepared to walk away. At the end of the day, there are many more car dealerships ..Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Service department
The car had allot of stone chips which we spoke about and got mostly repaired before purchasing the SUV.
After collecting the car and driving home, I noticed 3 chips in the windscreen, of which 1 of them started opening up a few days later and is causing a crack. Service department 'pretty much said' it's not their problem and I should have inspected the car better before I collected it.
The front LED light bar on the bumper also doesn't work and they say its not their problem as it was an after market light, yet they sold it to me already installed on the car 1 month ago.
Will take my servicing somewhere else from now. Had 3 cars so far, will not buy the next one from them...

Great service & Good deal
I bought a new Ford Mondeo Trend in the EOFY sale at John Hughes Ford in Victoria Park after being disappointed by the service at my two closest Ford dealerships (Nuford and Lynford). The deal included a trade-in and everything went very smoothly and a very good price for the trade in and new vehicle was easily agreed. After the stress of dealing (trying) with the previous two dealerships this was a very welcome relief.

The Best Car Dealer in Australia!
I have now bought 8 cars from The John Hughes team in the past 8 Years 7 new and 1 second hand. We have 4 cars in our family 3 are VW and 1 Mitsubishi, firstly the prices were very good we did shop around for PX valuations prior to purchase but the other dealers could not touch the price John Hughes offered. I have had a couple of issues which 1 was a manufacturers issue but they resolved very quickly. I will be upgrading in one of the cars in 12 months and would never go anywhere else.
