Look, I'm new to hair removalin general.
Have booked to have my Brazilian done and after the first session have realised this does not include hair around your butt, even though in their FAQ's it does state the Brazillian includes this....
I'm too awkward to ask the ladies face to face - they aren't exactly comforting or non-judgemental - so I'm wondering if anyone can help me out -on the website, I can book for "Buttocks" ($120-ish) or "Behind" ($50-ish) ...
I'm assuming behind is probably going to be what I'm after - just wanting clarification on the difference between the two and what's actually included?

I go to my local Laser Clinic in Perth- Midland. It causes no harm to my skin, but you are best to ask your therapist before starting any treatment if there are any risks involved for yourself.

Hi, I have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years and have done wide range of treatments from laser to peel to injectables at regular basis. All experiences were nothing but excellent service and satisfied results. I had a pigmentation laser treatment today which it would have been my 6th or 7th treatment and for the first time I was told that they couldn’t proceed because I didn’t do the skin preparation at home for 2 weeks which is now the “new company policy”. I was also told that the skin prep involves 3 different products from your shop and if I were to use other brands they have to be exact the same concentrations and approved by the store manager. My question is that is that true? If so, can I ask if you are able to provide any scientific evidence saying that Glycolic acid and Vitamin C can prevent laser burn as this was your store manager’s argument. Overall today’s experience felt like a low class, forceful cross sale trick that really doesn’t match to the Laser Clinic Australia that I have known for the last 10 years.

Did you end up getting the laser pigmentation completed? I’m getting mine done next week and am slightly nervous - pain threshold isn’t great.

I also was not told of the 2 week prep I had to do...

After a very heated conversation as I was not informed about this new rule when purchasing and also not at making the appointment, also after being threatened that they could burn my face without the prep by the store manager, she let me have the treatment but told me that they will lower the setting to reduce the risk. She also said this is wasting my time and her time!! I am waiting for the company to reply and if not I will make a formal complaint about this incident.

In terms of pain, obviously it will vary by individual but more pigment it hurts more. In my case, I only had a few faint spots left so the pain didn’t bother me at all. It almost becomes my maintenance procedure after summer season!

Why does laser hair removal need the aftercare products ($110) to be used after having a hair removal session when ipl/spl does not require any aftercasre except staying out of the sun ? The products are not cheap so I am assuming this is to compensate for treatments that are on specials like $10 underarms ?

1 answer
RMclennan
RMclennan

The use of the after care products will help improve the your results from the ipl and prevent any possible side effects from the ipl, like darkening of existing skin pigmentation, and to help prevent any bacterial infection from a reaction to the ipl etc. No it isn't absolutely necessary to purchase them from LCA, you could go to any shop that sells beauty products and buy the same stuff for less. I bought some of the products because i wanted something to treat my pigmentation, and a glycolic scrub to help with ingrown hairs, which have caused me scarring in the past. The Skinstitute stuff is made in Australia and the bottles are massive, so i imagine they're worth what you pay. They would last a really long time. But you're totally within your rights to say no and use your own preferred products! They do tend to push them on you, and it wasn't a nice surprise at the end of my first round of treatment.

It certainly hasn’t happened to me!
I have never been happier with my results with laser treatment from Laser Clinics Australia. I’ve had about 4 treatments over two years on my legs, armpits and bikini area and hardly any hair has returned.

I have heard from other privately owned businesses that the reason laser clinic is so cheap is because the lasers aren’t as strong and it therefore requires a lot more sessions. I also heard laser clinics use different lasers? I have heard great things from anyone who has been to one of your clinics but I am wondering if there is any validity to different types of lasers? Or is it just a bitter and overpriced business owner talking trash?? Kind regards

Hi, laser Clinics is so cheap because of all the business competition and the prices are what the treatment is worth to be honest. The Candela laser is the strongest laser for hair reduction in at the moment it is specifically attracted to pigment so if you have light skin and dark hair then it will be great. It is Stronger that your standard IPL device that isn’t a laser it’s a pulse light and it isn’t great for hair reduction. Most privately owned businesses use IPL devices because they are cheap, but that technology is dated now they are old machines and don’t work. A candela laser is worth over $250,000. If you are concerned then go to a laser clinic and ask for a test patch.

Thanks so much for the answer. I am truly disgusted at what some small businesses are charging for this service. Let’s just say for one session on one area I could get 3 sessions for three areas with you #nothappy

Hi there. The treatment works best on dark hair so you shouldn’t have an issue. It doesn’t hurt - you only feel a bit of heat - so please don’t panic. It doesn’t change your skin tone or give red marks etc. If you have any concerns, ask the girls at your Appoinment. They are great!

Laser Clinics A.Laser Clinics Australia

Hi Shar,

Laser skin tightening improves your skin’s elasticity and promotes the production of collagen. Your skin will feel firm and taut and lines will be reduced, whether it be on your face, tummy, breasts, chest, buttocks, thighs or neck. It’s perfect for stretched post-natal skin, aged skin tone and sagging facial tissue.

Laser Skin Tightening is all about bulk heating the skin to certain temperatures to cause collagen contracture (think of putting a steak in a really hot pan and it shrinking and contracting in size). The heat will then metabolise unhealthy fibres and cells causing a stimulation to the fibroblast cells (they produce collagen and elastin fibres). This will then smooth fine lines, wrinkles and texture of the skin. Laser Skin Tightening can be used on any area where there is a loss of collagen.

With the use of the Candela GentleYAG Laser the procedure is quick, comfortable and non-invasive with minimal downtime.

For your best results, we recommend you have between 4 & 6 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results.

Preparation Required: No sun exposure 2 weeks prior and use of Skinstitut Age Defence SPF 50+ sunscreen.

Hi starting to wonder if my laser treatments are being done correctly. I am seeing great results on u/a and can feel the tech being thorough when doing them. When it comes to the brazilian i feel that they are missing patches and not going over all areas as they did when i had my first 2 treatments. I have had 7 treatments and hair that had fallen out previously is now back and has been for some time. I am back to 4 weeks between apmnts which i was told was not something that they would normally do but the last tech that did my treatment felt that the hair that was there needed to be done again much sooner. When committing to 10 treatments and paying upfront i was told i may need 10 to 12 treatments but by then they would be months apart i have had no more than 6wks. The ladies that work at the salon i go to are lovely but spending another 300 on top of what i already have just seems like a lot if its not going to work. Has anyone else experienced this please help!

Do your skincare treatments get rid of acne for good or are they just a temporary fix?

1 answer
Laser Clinics Australia
Laser Clinics A.Laser Clinics Australia

Hi Jade,

Acne is different person to person and it's cause very much varies. For this reason, we recommend a complimentary skin consultation with one of our skin therapists. At this consultation, we will run through your concerns, your current skincare regime and your skin goals. We can then recommend a series of treatments that will help you get to clear and glowing skin. Of course we can never make promises but you will definitely see an improvement. With acne, like any skin concern, commitment and patience is key, but our team can get you there!

If you' like to do a bit more research, here are our acne skin treatments: https://www.laserclinics.com.au/skin-care-concern/acne-reduction

We hope this helps!

Hi whats best treatment for smokers lips?

1 answer
Laser Clinics Australia
Laser Clinics A.Laser Clinics Australia

Hi Lana,

Thanks for your question :) Anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectables will be the best treatment for smokers lines. Find out more here: https://www.laserclinics.com.au/cosmetic-injection/wrinkle-reduction-and-prevention
Lines around the mouth are formed in much the same way as lines around the eyes or forehead, in that they are mainly caused by muscle movement. You will notice that people with very expressive or animated faces tend to have more wrinkles in these problem areas. We call these "dynamic" wrinkles. Each time the muscle in question contracts to form an expression, the skin attached concertinas. This repetitive movement can result in a permanent line that, over time, can become a deeper wrinkle.

Hi, I have another question. Does the Lips to love package include the smokers lines above the lips rather than to plump the lips?

Laser Clinics A.Laser Clinics Australia

Hi Liz!

Great question.

Our Lips to love 1ml dermal filler package is $389. Dermal fillers can both enhance a younger lip and volumise the ageing lip. Lip augmentation is created with lip injections and lip fillers, expertly performed by our team of Doctors and Registered Nurses.

To treat, smokers lines or vertical lip lines, we recommend anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectables. Smokers lines can be defined lines that become apparent with any movement of the mouth.

We hope you find this useful.
