Everything is great but the joycon.
More of a 3.6 but nearest to four star.
I bought this mid 2017 and I had playstation in the past and xbox one currently.
Switch is my go to most of the time because of the vast choice of family friendly game first of.
The ability to be able to just pull it off the dock and continue playing is a big plus for me since I have a family. Often people wants the TV or children wants to play on the bed etc. The option to play handheld and then slide it into the dock to play when your hands are tired is a plus.

my kids to handle too during multiplayer games. There are however a few kinks to this console. The joycon is have a well known drift issue where they register me as going to a certain direction even when I am not touching the joystick. It leaves me hard to play a few games as they often go into the wrong direction when my thumb is not moving. Any game that needs slightly more precise manoeuvring would kill you mentally.

Best portable gaming device
Purchased Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart bundle during Amazon Black Friday sales 2022. Been using switch several times a week.
Favourite games Zelda BOTW. Screen is amazing and and connecting to dock and TV is a breeze.
Would recommend buying Skull and Co grip case and hands can get sore when playing for hours without gripcase. Also highly recommend screen protector and pro controller.

So versatile and travel friendly
We have had our Switch for approximately 2 years and love it!!
I love how simple the device was easy to set up especially for a not so tech savvy person such as myself. Very easy to connect to the television. My tech savvy children have connected it to the wifi and we can access YouTube and watch on television which is fab!
My children have a number of games and they can be a bit pricey but the games for the DS and other consoles can be pricey also when you add them up. The family love the Mario Bros and the latest game Luigi’s Mansion 3 whic...Read more
h is awesome. I love the portability of the console. It can be played on the television or played as a handheld console. It’s like you’re getting too products for the price of one. It’s an excellent travel companion. The Switch has a great range of accessories which can be purchased. It comes with 2 controllers but you can purchase more for additional players. We love playing Monolopy as a family on the Switch.Purchased in December 2021 at JB Hi-Fi for A$500.00.

Best console
I play a few different platforms, but I love the Switch the most, although I am a sucker for Nintendo.
It's such a fun design, the fact you can use it at home on the big TV then just take it off it's base and take it as you please.
I actually took my switch with me on a plane trip and it provided endless entertainment.
The only downside it that Switch games can cost a fair bit compared to other platforms.

Perfect for at home or on the go
Switch is perfect for seamless gaming between the tv and on the go. It is a lifechanger when travelling on planes. Highly recommend Mario Kart 8 and Hollowknight for endless hours of fun. Nintendo online leaves a bit to be desired though.

Horrible Customer Service
This device was purchased on Christmas last year, only for the left joy-con to break less than one year later. The joy-con broke without prior damage or misuse yet Nintendo decided that it had to be me who had caused the break. They refuse to replace or repair the item even though it is under warranty! Not a good investment unless you have plenty of money to burn.

Worse purchase Ive ever made
Purchased a brand new switch in August 2022. The screen went dead 6 weeks later. We took it back to the place of purchase, only to be advised the assessment and repair will take b/w 4-6 weeks. What a joke. Oh, and so your kids dont lose the memory or games that have been saved. You need to back up your switch first. Which is another scam.
So in summary, we outlay $400 AUD, it breaks down 6 weeks later, and we may get it back now before Xmas.
What a horrible product and returns process - never ever again.

Multiple forms and methods of play. Kids enjoy it
I like how you can play it in multiple ways like on TV, portable as a single or multiplayer hand-held unit or as a separate screen on its own with mini controllers. Games are kid-friendly (unlike PS or X-Box) and build quality is superior. Only (minor) downside is the ease at which games are lost because of its small SD-size game cards and lack of 4K. Highly recommended if you have young children.

INCREDIBLE
The nintendo switch it so incredible! It has simple design, lightweight and easy to use. The games that you can buy are also very fun, challenging and great to play with family and friends. You can bring the nintendo switch on the plane without a screen or connect it to a TV to play with the family. It is AMAZING.

Nintendo Switch is the ultimate game boy of future.
Nintendo Switch what can I say other than that I'm a grown man myself and I love playing it.
Nintendo switch gives you an experience that no console past or present can offer. Quality game play, graphics, features [2 mini controllers in one], hardware & software speak volumes to all ages especially the big kids i.e. me :)
One of the features which I cannot live without is being able to play Nintendo, SNES [super Nintendo games] that are on offer with a very minimal fee a month which is fine. Reliving your childhood and playing favourites of...Read more
Mario Kart, Metroid, Zelda and Double Dragon. The only thing I wish Nintendo did incorporate with the Nintendo Switch is Bluetooth for wireless headphones and the ability to watch movies/listen to music but this is something that's a major factor. Overall if you're looking at buying a present for either your kids, or big kids i.e. adults like myself for Christmas this would have to be it. Trust me you won't be disappointed.Purchased in March 2021 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for A$467.00.

Excellent system for kids but pricey
Great games system for kids and the pick up and go feature is used quite often In our house. I do think that the Nintendo store in general is way overpriced however.

Versatile little console
My kids have numerous consoles. When my son asked for one of these for his birthday I wasn't too sure if this was going to be another one of those things just is rarely used. Read a few reviews and decided it might be something a bit different as it is portable but can also connect to the tv.
Luckily there was a good deal on Amazon. When it arrived it was a breeze to set up and connected to our dodgy internet quite well.

v as they are quite small. The games are also very pricey and tend to stay that way for a long while - a prime example being the Zelda game that came out when the Switch did and is still very expensive. You can however use games purchased from the US so have found a few good deals on Amazon. I have found though that this console is getting alot of use and has proven to be one of the better gaming purchases we have made over the years. I recommend this for all ages.Purchased in March 2021 at Amazon.

No, As an entertainment device it's very lacking in features, can't play Netflix ect. Solid gaming system, graphics are poor but I don't think that is an issue, Nintendo games don't require amazing graphics to be emersive.
Best Nintendo console to date. The fact that it is handheld makes all the difference, and it can still display on the TV like previous consoles if you prefer that, but I don't know anyone who doesn't love playing in handheld mode. The Nintendo 64/GameCube emulation is coming soon as well, so expect the imminent release of old games for the Switch.
As a gaming system, yes it is a good one. A works well as a mix of a handheld system you can take with you and one you can have set up with your main rig. If you wanted it as an all rounder to work with the other home entertainment opitions you might have in your house, for now it is limited with not much known about what they could do there. It is a possible "watch this space" type deal there. Otherwise, it is good at what it does.
