Hello, thank you for your message. The Optimum 600 3rd Generation comes with a fine strainer (for juices) and a coarse strainer (for smoothies). Thank you John for the great feedback on your Optimum 600 :) As mentioned by Shirl, the parts are not dishwasher proof. However, we can share the following cleaning tips:

Use two glasses of warm water to rinse the juicer
Add a glass of warm water while the drain valve is closed so that the water remains in the juicing bowl. Press the reverse button to ensure that the pulp is pushed out of the juicer.
Turn the drain valve open allowing the water to flow out. You can then rinse the parts normally and use the cleaning brush supplied.

The Optimum 600 is a whole mouth slow juicer able to juice large pieces of vegetables and greens without cutting. This means that the larger auger (black juicing screw) will be crushing large quantities of ingredients.

Consequently, the Optimum 600 may sometimes make a loud noise caused by the contents being crushed. This can happen more often with large leafy greens and hard ingredients such as carrots and will always occur with large mouth cold press juicers.

The decibels for the Optimum 600 are from 40 to 60, depending on what you are juicing.

We are sorry to hear of the issue you are facing. Since the stopper is correctly inserted, the issue could come from the pressure that is applied when the ingredients are being fed into the juicer. You simply need to gently lead the ingredients towards the auger with no force as applying too much force into the chute can cause too much vegetable mass to clog around the auger resulting in pulp overflowing in your juice or the juicer becoming blocked.

The Optimum 600 operates via a masticating (chewing) method to produce a high quality juice. In contrast to the tearing extraction and high speeds of centrifugal juicers, slow juicers function at lower speeds and gently compress fruit and vegetables to ‘press’ out their juice, with the Optimum being the best on the market at only 65 RPM.

The juicer will also come with your choice of 3 strainers (fine, course and blank) for your choice of juice. We then include the sieve for further straining of the pulp.

When Juicing with the Optimum 600 there are two different strainers you can use, the fine strainer and the coarse strainer.
The fine strainer eliminates all pulp while the coarse strainer is used to make a more pulpy juice, or smoothie.

The Optimum 600 also comes with a third strainer for making Nut Butters and Ice Creams.

As of December 2015 the Optimum 600 now comes with an additional sieve, for an even more pulp free juice.

For a deep clean we recommend soaking the strainer in a solution of one cup of white vinegar to two cups of water. Let the parts soak for several hours, then empty the water out and use a soft pot scrubber and the cleaning brush (do not use a harsh/high abrasive scrubber as this could cause the plastic to go cloudy) to clean the parts.

As pictured in the manual there is a small tab on the end of the silicon stopper, this is the part that is used to pull the stopper out of the chute (NOT detach from the juicer). When placing the silicone stopper back into the slot, simply place it partly in rather than forcing it all the way.

The stopper can be pulled out of the slot (NOT detached from the juicer) for cleaning (as well as making nut butters and ice-creams), however you will never be required to detach it from the juicer. The screw should never be removed and the plug should always be attached to the juicer. What the manual refers to is simply the plugging and unplugging of the bottom of the pulp chute and not the removal of the plug.

The differences between the Optimum 400 and the Optimum 600 slow juicer are the following:

In using the Optimum 400 model you need to chop up with fruits and the vegetables into small pieces and feed them through the juicer.

The slow speed of the Optimum slow juicers leads to better quality, tastier and larger amount of juice, and less cleaning!

In the Optimum 600 you can feed whole fruits and vegetables down the chute, such as apples. It is still recommended to peel the skin off citrus fruits before placing them in the juicer as the skin gives a very bitter taste.
