Quite & Strong
I have installed the Panasonic air con rev cycle on my bedroom. It's been about 2 months. I have used both heating and cooling. Cooling is excellent. It instantly blows and cools my room. It is also very quite. So it does not distract at all while sleeping. It has a timer to preset for your use as well. Heating is also great as equally as cooling system. My room is medium size, and 2.5kw is more than enough. It is also very easy to control. All functions are very user friendly. The best option can be quite/powerful mode. Under powerfu...Read more
l mode, it boosts the cooling/heating instantly. I use quite mode often. It just gives you right amount of blows like breeze, and it is very quite. I like it very much so far, and it is strongly recommended.

No problems for my medium sized bedroom
After start up with the nano system engaged the system works well and rapidly cools the desired area. Louvres, fan speed easy to control from the remote and is quiet.
Bought through the Good Guys Pakenham but still waiting for the rebate which is a pain to apply for as it seems nicely obscured in both the Panasonic and Good Guys sites. The installation via Concierge was an unexpected surprise - quick, efficient, great communications. The whole deal was ~ $1400 (-$100 with rebate ). A smooth trouble free process from start to finish.

ber 25th 2017 Update: Bullet proof The usual National Panasonic quality. Does not miss a beat in either cooling/heat mode. A little slow to get into the heat cycle though. Able to sleep without a problem. Control functions on remote a breeze and almost idiot proof. Filters easy to clean. The small indicator lights tend to be a bit too bright at night.Similar opinion? Energy efficient but quite noisy in heat mode
I purchased 3 of these around 8 months ago, mainly the purpose was to provide energy efficient room heating in 3 of our bedrooms. On special at Good Guys, with a $100 rebate they came in at around $750 each. Installation was just under $3k however as I wanted 2 on wall brackets and 1 was on the deck. Heating mode is good, although they obviously take a fair time to get the room at temperature you want. Due to the excellent 6* efficiency the answer here is to keep them on 24/7. Unfortunately the heat mode is quite noisy, especially if you live s...Read more
omewhere which gets real cold (I live in Canberra region) as the defrost cycle will come on and makes a strange sound like water and gas gushing all of a sudden. In addition the units do vibrate quite badly when in heat mode as well. That being said I'm not unhappy with the units but I am surprised how noisy they are in heat mode. 2 of our units are mounted on the outside of our 1960's weatherboard home (Oregon timber frame) and they do vibrate at points in the cycle although not too badly. I did have to refill a few small cracks in plaster wall from the vibrations, although these were pretty minor. I'm happy I mounted those two on the walls and not on the ground outside the house though as they are protected from the elements better. Fan mode is excellent, very powerful when needed. Its now the summer and the cooling is very good and pretty quiet. I haven't noticed any noises really. The main plus for these units has to be the energy efficiency which is 6* for heat mode and 5.5* for cooling. One thing to note is that the standby power usage is pretty high so if your going away or not going to be using the units for a while have them on isolation switches and turn them offSimilar opinion? Rumbling Train
Purchased 4 of these Units and suggest that if you are going to place them onto a wall with brackets it could be a big mistake. All of have a rumbling noise that can be heard through the wall. My neighbours know when any of the Units are on. On occasions this can be heard two to three rooms away. If you have a window slightly ajar in one room and the unit for another room is running you can forget about sleeping. To balance this review I am working with Hirotec to resolve this. The little bit of research I've done on this newer model suggest th...Read more
at there are a number of issues. In other respects the Units work as I'd expect. Its been a few months now and had two fans motors changed and one head Unit which did not resolve the noisy cracking these Units make which I believe is a result of the specific gas they use in the current model. Do not under estimate what people are saying about this issue as it will drive you mad and stop you sleeping if its in a bedroom. They will even crack away up to an or or more after turning off. Best to avoid any Units that use this. My installers advice was some other manufacturers used this gas and went away from it because of issues.5 comments

in heat mode. Its on and off all day when in heat mode. We have another Unit in our bedroom that occasionally makes a clicking/cracking noise but its only moderate. However occasionally after about an hour or so it has made a VERY loud cracking noise which woke us up. I've been a Panasonic buyer for many years and always happy. I would have to say that at the moment it would be wise to avoid this model and perhaps the brand.I escalated my complaint only to be told the cracking noise is a normal thing that occurs. Strongly disagreed and the person on the phone offered me a full refund through the Good Guys. Twenty minutes... Read more
later the indian giver rang back and reneged on the offer. For 13 months they have done considerable trips put in a new head unit then rebuilt the head Unit with a new chassis. If the cracking is normal why did they go to the trouble of dealing with this for 13 months. Poor performance by Panasonic.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So far all good.
We've just started to use our new Panasonic CS/CU-Z18RKR C5.0kW H6.0kW Reverse Cycle Split System. I guess too early to comment on many things, but it seem to perform as advertised. One thing, which is not that crucial is auto air flow on Auto temperature function. It seem to change fan speed not as smooth as one would hope. But it is easily resolved by switching on manual fan speed. Being so energy efficient it heats up area of approx 30m2 very well on those cold winter days/nights.
Based on initial impressions I'd recommend this unit.

Brand new, not working after installation, Hirotech came to check and said " faulty parts".
I just bought this air conditioner, after installed and compressor not working. Hirotech came to check and confirm that " parts are faulty and need to order new parts to replace".
I'm very dissapointed.
I bought this unit at Harvey Norman Water garden on 29/6/2016 and install on 30/6/2016. Totally not working.
I not recommended Panasonic air conditioner. DON'T BUY IT.

Effortless cooling and heating
Bought the product from The Good Guys during their eBay sale and I have to say I'm impressed with the unit. Had a back-to-back installation in my bedroom. The unit cooled quietly and efficiently on a hot day. Tried heating last night and it warmed up the room very nicely. I also ran the aircon on their much talked about iAuto-X mode and I could see it adjusted the fan speed and wing direction accordingly using the sensors. The aircon remote is fairly simple and straightforward to use.
Only minor gripe is that the remote is not backlit. As for sound level, you can only hear the outdoor unit (quite a compact one!!) humming during startup or when it starts from auto-off which then slowly disappears.
Overall, I would recommend the product.

Hello, I have the Z12RKR and the Z09RKR installed in the kids bedrooms 3 years ago. The first nights we used them they would not cool consistently. It would start off at a correct temp, then warm up over the night. We followed the instructions carefully. They were on cool mode, econavi off and fan on auto. After trying multiple combinations we were never able to get the rooms to stay at a constant temp. We rang the installer who advised that we shouldn't use auto, as it doesn't keep the room consistency cool, but to use a low fan setting. Which we have been successfully using since.
The other day I was cleaning the filters and noticed huge amounts of mould growing inside the unit. The last clean and service was conducted 15 months ago. I rang the installer who stated using low fan settings typically contributes to mould growing, and seemed to think it just needed a clean and service.
I feel like this is a no win situation if I follow what has been advised. What settings should I realistically be using to keep the unit clean and actually cooling at night? Has anyone else encountered this?
I feel auto at night should work when econovi is off?
I understand all units need regular servicing. However I cannot believe this amount of mould would grow in such a short amount of time unless something is wrong. None of our other brand of air conditioners we have purchased in our properties over the years have behaved like this. Thank-you.

Hi Shotang, thank you for your query. Mould build up is due to the environment. Running the unit on any particular mode will not add to this or remove it. We would recommend frequent cleaning of the filters, but also of the whole unit.
Auto will detect the temperature and the unit will ramp down accordingly, and when the temperature rises, turn back on. This is why it would have been suggested to use the product in manual mode, to have the unit consistently running the whole night.
We would recommend at the end of each summer running the unit on a heating cycle (if it isn't used on heat in winter) to dry up any stored moisture within the unit.

Can you please advise what is the highest possible level this unit may be installed on the the wall? ie. What is the necessary clearance from the top of the unit to the ceiling? As I've noticed the unit expands outwards (not so, much upwards) during operation
thanks

This is a question for the installer or electrician but mine is installed quite high up with about a open hand space to the ceiling. I was told this will be ok and I hope it doesn’t cause any issue down the track.
Thanks, is that for this same Fujitsu designer model? When it operates, the front panel extends forwards and up. Is your hand distance enough for this?
