I love it
This unit is perfect for me. I use it everyday either for either the blender or processor (or both). This was a Christmas gift from my daughter and I love it.

partly excellent / partly poor
All blades are excellent, multi-functional, sharp.
Phillips have decided to use a poor quality black resinous plastic on the base of the blenders (bowls), it wears out after only 6 months of low usage. It has a 2 year warranty, but Phillips are reluctant to cover the bowls, even though by Australia Consumer laws they have to.
Plastic shoot cracked when grating cheese.
multifunctionality
poor quality plastic wearing out after only 6 months

Excellent customer service
I recently purchased this food processor and it has done everything i have tried from grating to smoothies to grinding coffee and making fresh curry paste. I can't fault it especially for the price. I also lost the main spindle inside the processor and phillips have sent a replacement free of charge!

Well haven't had much chance to use it actually
only used it once to make breadcrumbs which it did.. The suction feet stuck so strongly onto the bench that when I tried to pull it off the bench the food processor bowl fell off. It broke. I rang the philips 1300 number from a previous review here and was told there was no one to take my call ring again later, which I did. Same thing. Finally pushed spare parts option and was put onto south side electronics...told to go on their website to make order...went onto website..impossible to use...rang number on website...spoke to nice woman....Read more
. will have to pay $30 for new bowl and $15.00 delivery... not sure its my fault that the parts are stored in Sydney and I live in Melbourne...not convinced I should bother as it all seems too hard and expensive..I have spent hours getting this far... it makes breadcrumbs and it seems like it would be good1 comment

Broke on third use
The third time I used it, to gently grate some carrots (applying little force) the metal grating insert popped out of the plastic disc and broke plastic off of the inside of the lid. I should have bought a processor with full metal discs. Ok other than the poorly designed disc and inserts.
Metal blade inserts are inferior to full metal discs.

Don't waste your $$$
I had this processor for about 3 months and it completely lost power, I was trying to process an onion to make a curry paste and it would not even cut through it. I was disappointed as I loved all the accessories it came with but I guess you get what you pay for. It was cheap.
The number of accessories
Not very powerful

99% AS GOOD AS $500 MODELS AT 20% THE PRICE
I was torn between 2 much more expensive food processors, the Breville & the Kenwood when i came across this at HarveyNormans. With an RRP for $149, a sticker price of $129 i got it for $99 cash which clenched the deal as it passed the value test by a wide margin. First i dont see why anyone would give this a bad review, it works every bit as good as its more expensive companions on the shelves beside it. While not made of metal it is a quality plastic and of decent weight, not flimsy or cut price at all. First i checked the blades and the bloo...Read more
dy bandaid says its sharp enough of any kitchen and made of quality stainless steel. The vitamizer has a blade which is sturdy, sharp and made to crush ice to powder very quickly! The extras all fit in a supplied container and thats handy as i wouldnt want to be fishing around a draw and come on contact with any of the blade edges! With a dough hook, cream wisker ect it ticked all the boxes and also included a spice grinder for spices or coffee beans>powder. MISSING from the package is a fruit juicer for lemons/oranges, but to be fair it was missing from most the the ones beside the top of the line KENWOOD at $500 for the multipro. But they are cheap to buy a dedicated one or like me you will just have the old glass one you scored for 50C from a thrift shop... Plastics are BPA free and plastic and made well. They should easily survive daily use but are not the heavy grade kind some of the more expensive ones offered, nor is glass. But the Breville BP450 at $200 (think its being discontinued, i could get for $169 the same as the Brevvile handheld stick for the same price and was tempted). It lacked only the sprice grinder and was much heavier plastics and a glass vitimizer, which i would hate to drop. Tough call as it was the nearest in price and was a much better unit for build quality and i think would have been just as happy, but a little poorer. Both were about the 750/800 watt direct drive (the much more powerful brushless motors that run cooler, are more powerful and have a long working life over the old traditional brushed models of the past) which means it does ice into snow with ease. 2 year warranty quality is on par with units x3 the price, but not metal/glassSimilar opinion? Below average
Like most you I thought philips cannot go wrong! But I was quite dumb to think that way! I purchased this food processor from target and not happy at all. It doesn't process anything well, including pesto, any dips etc etc. I paid quite a bit and am just stuck with this bad appliance because I have no choice. Wouldn't recommend this product. I wish I could exchange it to something else !
The design
Expensive and poor results.

Good machine for a great price
I've had this for about 6 months. Mainly use it to chop onions and vegies. Have also used it to chop prawns & mince to make wonton mixture. Also the blender is good for smoothies. I also use the whisk attachment to whisk fresh cream for icing, quick and simple to use. I haven't really used the other attachments but they are easy to remove and wash.
Simple and easy to use, machine holds firlmly to the bench, excellent price
Would be nice to have built in storage for the attachments

Great value for light usage
It seems too good to be true. A food processor, blender and mill for $100!? I've always believed you get what you pay for but this unit is great value.
When I opened the box for the first time I went *urgh*! The plastic of the blender and food processor felt cheap and I was immediately disappointed. But after 6 months of use the results are effective so I'm back in love with this unit. In fact, the plastic is robust and I've even dropped it a couple times so *yay* plastic.
The things I use it for:
- Making smoothes (Done very well)
- Grinding nuts (Good)
- Chopping and pureeing garlic/onion (Good)
- Mixing dough (Very Good)
- Making fries with the attachment (Bad. Comes out short, limp and shrivelled to the left)

en months it has progressively deteriorated but remains useful. It is truly a workhorse. The bowl is cracked, the lid doesn't "lock" the first time every time, I have to press down on the food bowl before the unit will spin, etc.My Blender is unusable because the plastic bit underneath the blade fell to pieces.

Excellent product
Does what it says it does. Have used the food processor and blender components, the grinder component didn't seem to work very well, but will try again. It is possible that I do have trouble following directions. Thought it had a kneading attachment but not sure that it does. Great value for the price Use it four times a week. Coped very well when place dates in it and forgot to remove the seeds ie most of the seeds were ground up.
Value for money
Nothing really

Great Machine for various cuisines
Have been using it for months but it never disappoint me, at least so far. Great for making mince, patties, mixing, juice, cream soup, etc. I specially like to use it to prepare meat patties, smoothies and soups like creamy pumpkin soup. It makes me creative in kitchen and my family like my new ideas for dinner. I would highly recommend this machine to busy mums who wish to prepare meals for family in an innovative manner.
Compact, efficient, save me a lot of time, reasonable price and a reliable brand for appliances.
Distance between end of pusher and cutter edge is bit wide, I have to cut the end bits by hand. But it doesn't really bother me as there must that bits to cut.

Its cheap price is deceiving
Love this. This was listed as number 2 or 3 in Choice Magazine's review and I was skeptical as it was so much cheaper than the others. Scored it on special at Harvey Norman for $98.
Was looking for something to do everything without the huge price tag; chop, slice, milkshakes, grate parmesan, beat cake mixes. This machine supposedly does it all (separate bowls) though Id be weary about doing dough as it is quite a light machine. Beats egg whites to perfection!
It doesnt take up a lot of space on the benchtop if you can store the accessories elsewhere.
I agree with the other reviews regarding hard to read manual. I disagree about some reviews and the Choice review about noise - its not invasive, it just makes the noise of a blender.

Excellent food processor for the price
I read some reviews on Choice.com.au and was surpised that this one came out equal first with another brand several hundred dollars more expensive. I've never had a food processor but do own a Braun Multiquick Pro that I love. I have been very impressed with this machine. The manual isn't the best (you can see it at http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/h/hr7762_90/hr7762_90_dfu_aen.pdf) but it's easy enough to work out. The parts are quite sturdy and easy to clean, they all go into the dishwasher which is great. The only small issue is that th...Read more
e handle fills up with water and has to drain out of a small hole, I'm never quite sure if all the water has come out. As I'd never had a food processor I was quite surprised that small amounts of food at the end of slicing / grating end up spinning on top of the disc and can't be processed, but you can minimise this by packing correctly. I think all processors do this. The only other thing I'd like to see is maybe a pouring lip on the processor jug. Please be aware you can't process foods / liquid above 80 degrees C. I have used it to prepare cupcakes, chop and slice vegetables, grate cheese, prepare quiche egg mix (I did this in the blender) and mix shortcrust pastry. It made all of these tasks very easy. I own a Kitchen Aid and will continue to use this for most of my baking needs, but for food prep I am very happy with my new kitchen gadget. Great price, easy to store, compact, simple to use, easy to clean Water difficult to drain from some areas after cleaning, can't use on very hot liquidSimilar opinion? Nice little unit
I bought one of these 4 months ago, and it's been great. I chose it for it small size, light weight and the small chopping bowl that came with it. I use it for grating, chopping, and it does those tasks well, and at a low price. I have never used the blender as I have a dedicated one.
I would not use it as a blender or dough mixer though; it's small and light and I don't think it would do a good job doing that. But when I want to make hummus and don't have any tahini, the small chopper bowl does a great job making tahini and the large bo...Read more
wl does a great job chopping chickpeas, garlic and other ingredients. It also grates and slices veg good, and I like the fact it's solid metal discs, not inserts that fit into plastic discs (that could discolour, chip or break) like my parents cheaper processors. But the speed and power don't seem convincing to me enough to bother using the blender for any frozen or hard ingredients, so haven't tried that at all. Don't buy it for a blender, or dough mixing. I think the processor will last for ages if you only use it for veg chopping, grating and mixing. Low price for a competent food processor is how I'd sum it up. Compact, light, so far reliable.3 comments

't like it, too hard to get the food out and to clean for pureed veg. Is it a good choice for that? Also, I am worried about the locking mechanism of this product .. how does it function? Is "locking of lid" working properly for you?
Eva G.Philips
Hi Sandeep
Thank you for your enquiry.... Read more
The Philips Viva Collection Food processor features a dishwasher safe kneading tool accessory to mix and knead batter and dough. This should be ideal for Indian Naan bread. Regarding the lid, you will hear a gentle 'click' sound which is an indication the lid is locked properly. Hope this helps. Kind regards The Philips Australia TeamSimilar opinion? Great machine very happy
I am happy with the machine, it is only new, but worried that the lid has cracked already and has not been overworked.. How difficult is it going to be to get a replacement..and it is only early days yet... I found the philips web sight difficult to find replacement parts.
The blender lid is cracking from the centre button... I feel there is a lot of pressure on the unit when using the cheese grater..and now I am having difficulty trying to organise to buy a replacement,, its possibly still under warranty..

Essential item for kitchen
We have used this food processor on a regular basis and has not let us down. It's easy to clean and easy to operate! Was very affordable for the quality of the processor. It has many attachments included. The instruction book wasn't fantastic but the attachments are easy enough to work out.
Simple to use
