I am not too sure ! It probably is the capacity and technical features.

Hi Akkhan,

Cool that you are interested in the Airfryer. We do have quite some models! Most important differences would be the capacity and colour. You can check out our Australian range wrap up right here:

http://www.philips.com.au/c-m-ho/cooking/airfryer/latest#filters=AIRFRYER_SU&sliders=&support=&price=&priceBoxes=&page=&layout=12.subcategory.p-grid-icon

You can use the "compare" function to compare 2 or 3 models directly with each other. That will definitely help you! Let us know if you need more assistance alright?

Hi I have had my large air fryer for 2 and a bit years, stopped working tonight, I. The timer kept cutting in and out and then there was a small bang and puff of smoke. I really love it but I think for the price I paid for it should last a longer there 2 and a bit years. Is it a fault with the timer?

Squid

Was this while it was switched off? If so, this is correct. If you turn the power off before the timer has run out, the timer will still keep going because it's like a wind-up timer. I often turn mine off before the timer has finished because I've had a look at the item and it has fully cooked so I take it out and the timer just 'unwinds' and keeps going.
If this is happening while power is on, that is incorrect and you should return it for a replacement.

When I got mine a few years ago, the divider was included but I read that this was only the case for New Zealand and Korea - I'd love to know why just these two countries! Can't remember where I read that now.

I spoke to Sam at Philips and she is sending me a new basket as the clip could be faulty. I am not convinced that is the answer. I think the rack made the basket too heavy and that is why it came away from the base, if that is the case not much point having the rack which is advertised to allow you to cook extra food. Thanks for your help

I previously owned a Black & Decker air fryer now I have the Phillips when I remove the basket To check the food the fire stays on in the Black & Decker he would cut off, is this normal in the Phillips?

Yes, if the timer is still running and the power is on, the airfryer will continue operating when you pull the drawer out. It's like your oven which keeps heating even if you open the door.

Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi Sal,

Thanks for getting in touch with us. Squid is right; the Airfryer is supposed to stay on as long as the timer is running. This allows you to remove the basket and shake the ingredients, to ensure they cook evenly on all sides.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

As the Philips Team says, this is absolutely fine. You can switch it off at the wall or you can wind the timer back to zero to turn it off. I just switch it off at the wall and let the timer keep running.

How do I preheat my airfryer model no. 9240?

1 answer
Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi Maree,

We hope you like your Airfryer so far! We'd like you to know that preheating of the Airfryer is optional. To preheat the appliance you turn the timer knob to more than 3 minutes and wait until the heating-up light goes out after approximately 3 minutes. Then fill the basked and turn the timer knob to the required preparation time. You can also immediately put the ingredients into the basket, without preheating. The preparation time will be in 3 minutes longer if you do so.

We hope this helps!

1 answer
Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi Brigid, nice to hear that you are interested in our Airfryer. As the maximum quantity of ingredients that can be prepared in the Airfryer depends on the kind of food you want to prepare, it's a bit hard for us to indicate a litre capacity. Generally, the Airfryer has a cooking capacity of 0.8 kg:
- Potatoes or fries: 700-800 grams
- Small snacks: 500 grams
- Cakes, muffins, quiches, or breads: use an oven tray of 16 cm
We hope this helps! Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us on 1300 363 391 if you are in Australia.
