Road side assistant ultimate cover is a excellent product
Roadside ultimate is efficient, effective and worth the extra money for when your travelling. A excellent service for when you need it most. Customer service representatives are professional and really friendly. First time I have ever left a review for anything so it has definitely been a great experience.

Thanx to my knight in RACQ van with flashing lights!
Yesterday was stuck in under cover car park in Coolangatta with my car not starting even through it let my into the car it wouldnt start! Very frustrating! Rang RACQ lady was very reassuring and around 1/2 hr later he turned up and after awhile of trying different things he put a new battery in my remote and it worked! Might seem so trivial to others but I had an appointment in Vasity Lakes to get to,so meaningful to me to be on the road asap! So thank you my knight in that van with flashing lights! You were very appreciated with your quick response! Wouldn't do without this service! 65IMI RC

RACQ Rip off
A locking steering caused me to run into a guard rail, RACQ chose to take a loophole that this can only be covered under comprehensive insurance and so I am now going to have to pay for TWO lots of towing, one to the holding yard and one to the mechanics. I am 18 years old with only casual employment. My RACQ membership which I had to save up for as I wanted more than the basic cover was only paid last month over $200. The totals of towing are going to be about $500. Thanks RACQ!!!
I want to warn everybody of the limitedness of RACQ's ser...Read more
vice. If you think that you have an accident (or mechanical issues) and they will honour their towing service, forget it. All you are going to get is legal sections and loopholes quoted to you. Look around everybody for a better service because RACQ is NOT what they are cracked up to be. I have rated them only 1 because that is their lowest option. But I will make sure that anyone I speak to knows they will use loopholes to not pay out if they can. If they do it with towing, I am sure that will flow into their car insurances and house insurances and any other insurances they cover. Good luck people and look for BETTER alternatives.

The app is not user friendly for small screen phones as the Next button is so low on the screen you cannot touch it.
I have an iPhone 6, because my screen is smaller than the current phones I was unable to progress past the safety message because the Next button was too low

RACQ ARE LIFE SAVERS
When our bucket of bolts Volkswagen Tiguan recently broke down and left us stranded on a motorway, RACQ was there in around 20 minutes and although they couldn't get the car going, they arranged a tow truck within another 15 minutes. Cant imagine not having RACQ Roadside Assistance. Its really a no-brainer !.

I would love to give negative stars. Horrible.
Broke down on a servo driveway on a highway, AANT agreed that the car cannot stay were it was. As it was after hours on a Saturday the car was towed to a holding yard till Monday. Monday comes and RACQ refused to cover the remaining tow as they classed the tow to the holding yard as my one tow even though there was nowhere else to tow it to. I have now canceled all racq relater products.

No response from them! Will cancel my RACQ products.
Called them today as I had my tyre burst. First time they answered saying they will find the right person then as my situation was not dangeroys and i was ket on line for ten mins. Then i called again and no response at all this time!! I had to call a friend to help me out. It is true it is Sunday but this is not excuse. I will stop burning my money with RACQ.

Broke a fan belt
Described the make and model of my vehicle but no, can't supply a belt, the car must be towed !
Waited over 2 hours for the tow truck then spent another 2 hours getting the car dropped off and cab fares to buy a fan belt for $4.50 and fit it myself !!!

Long wait
Today my wife suffered a road accident that required a tow. RACQ were contacted and we were told we were in priority queue.
One and three quarter hours later we received a call from RACQ towing to say they had only just received the job.
This is not good when we were supposed to be in priority queue and yet no one forwarded to job to the tow people for 105 minutes.

Should be told
My partner has been with racq for many years and for the last 8 at least has had 2 brand new cars which come with free roadside assistance so long as she serviced the cars at the dealership which she always dose my question is should racq inform her of this when she fronts up to pay her yearly fee for roadside assistance and just offer a top up because they would know her car is already covered I think it's a bit like the banks charging people that dont realise and maybe should be looked into and money paid back to people that already have the service instead of just taking it and hoping nobody questions it will be looking into this further as I think it is wrong to charge people for something they already have

very very ordinary
Originally signed up because of some car battery issues and being desperate to get to work I was forced to pay what they quoted me for membership.
Later I found out that my quote was way overboard for what I needed and I paid in excess of 200% of what was necessary for me to get my car going, but I guess the ethically devoid customer service agent thought it would be a great idea to take advantage of a customer in a desperate position.
Fast forward a little and my car has just broken down on the side of the highway, the RACQ has told me that I...Read more

Nomad Caravan Tyre blowout on Highway.
We are retired nomads and had a blown tyre on our caravan on the M1 yesterday morning 16.10.19 near the Yatala turnoff, and the RACQ girl on the phone told us to sit in the car and put on seatbelts till someone arrived. She was very helpful and went out of her way to assist us. Then Richard from RACQ was sent out sub contract to Main Roads in a Traffic Response Vehicle to protect us on the highway. He also organised the correct help which was another larger RACQ truck to protect us which sat back 50 mts and another larger Tow Truck (to fit o...Read more
ur 27m caravan, which was supplied by the Local Tow company. Richard also noticed the tow truck driver (not RACQ) did not have a clue about loading a caravan (it was his first time) and he offered advice to the man to get the Caravan on the front of the tow truck. Furthermore Richard negotiated with the tow truck driver so he did not "deliver us to the nearest park (and then negotiate)" as stated, as the Tyre company was just off the highway in the next street. Excellent staff choice in Richard and thanks to all the RACQ guys for their help. We felt very well looked after and highly commend your service ....hence we have joined.Similar opinion? Bad service!
Deceiving. Called because car wouldn't start. Told would be there under the hour. Sent a text to track vehicle coming to job. Went right down to 0 mins and was in vicinity of location for several mins then all of a sudden got a message your service has been delayed and nothing. After two phone calls one guy said he went to another job in the same vicinity the other said they were having trouble with the tracking device. Turned up just over the hour. Don't send a track if you are just going to abandon. I can understand if it is an emergency but wasn't any such thing. Apparently my problem was a bad connection. Literally took 2 mins. Bad service!

RACQ will take your money, but decline to assist you consistently.
Recently, I had to call out RACQ Roadside Assistance due to a leaking top radiator hose. The RACQ technician could not run away fast enough, unwilling to help fearing legal redress (in other words, RACQ is a stingy scam, and the technician was just lazy). All I needed was a 13-32mm hose clamp ($2.09 at Repco)!!! He said all I could do was go to a mechanic; he did offer to have my car towed, but as it was 9:30pm that was just a transparent token offering (what mechanic was open at that time in the sticks..?). Thus, I was stranded until the next ...Read more
morning: as is expected, the mechanic fees were high (hundreds of dollars to needlessly replace the overflow expansion bottle, hoses, and fittings), and the wait was three days. Thanks for nothing, RACQ -- but feel free to Direct Debit my account each year.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fast, Friendly and Professional
I've been a member of RACQ since 2004. I have had always received prompt and professional service when needed. Today's experience was no exception. Went away on a 2 week holiday and came back to a car with a dead battery. Rang RACQ...phone response was prompt and friendly. Fortunately, a mechanic was available nearby and arrived within half an hour. They had the type of battery on hand (AGM type) and we were all good with 20 minutes. Patrick the mechanic was very courteous and professional knowing exactly what he was doing. Thank you!
I can see some negative experiences of other members in this site as well but we must be reasonable when external conditions are contributing to the times when high demand is placed on limited resources.
