Shane is great
Highly recommend Shane (428). Car was not able to start at Windsor, he eliminated issues with the battery, fuel pump etc. Finally asked had we dropped my car key which i had, where he suggested maybe the chip had fallen out. He went back and searched for the chip and found it on a busy street. Saved the day!

Had to wait 3 hours in the middle of a street no one showed up- paid for a tow service at the end
I had to wait for three hours and no one showed up. Very frustrating.
I had to pay $99 to a tow truck to take my car to somewhere safe. Two other RACQ trucks just passed me. I expected more prompt response.

Great service
Iam very pleased with with the service that l received when l had a break down along Bruce high way with 3 kids below 7yrs in the car.l did not have a policy then,but the help l got was exceptional.l not sure if l was allowed to write names so l will just say her name is D.........she was exceptional, l was surprised by how much she cared about our safety, assured us through out while waiting. the tow truck arrived in less than 30min.A very kind and friedly guy arrived his name is C........his priority was the safety of us.making sure ...Read more

Prompt caring service
My car wouldn’t start - battery problem. I called the RACQ and they arrived within the specified time to install a new battery which was carried out efficiently. After this a warning light appeared on the dash during the drive home. This is quite common. We called back to the technician, who drove to our home and fixed the problem. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I would never let my membership lapse. It’s reassuring and great value.

Amazing service, True Oz hospitality - A company that surely cares
I was in a rental car at wet'n'wild, as it was raining we went back to the car placed my daughter who was sleeping in the car seat and went to jump in the drivers seat and the car doors auto locked. After frantically running around, the staff called RACQ and within minutes we had nearly 3 rescue vehicles come in, the technician was so prompt and in less than 5 minutes reunited us with our daughter. help, I hugged him and thanked him for helping us. Sometimes all it takes is care and love to help someone and the tech did this in the best professional manner, I could not get his name at that moment, during this time, 2 other rescue vehicles came to assist as well. To be honest something like this overrides so negative reviews, as a business you are always going to have some upset customer but in all honesty, I cannot simply praise them enough as they have some excellent staff who simply go over and above. Fantastic Service - Really Helpful & Professional.
Flat battery.
Forty minutes from my initial contact till I drove away.
The lady, I initially spoke with over the phone and the gentleman, who changed my battery both provided clear and precise information and very really friendly. Overall excellent service.

Valueless uncaring faceless corporate Cash Grab.
Today I received my annual renewal notice, problem is it's all wrong!!!
After 16 years I have had ZERO benefit from this so called club. The discounts offered using your membership card are either more expensive than a normal walk in customer price or non existent even in places that are claimed to offer them. My Insurances were always more expensive with RACQ than most others even with the so called member discounts. Finally three years ago after buying a new car for my wife I had her car added as the main vehicle to ensure anyone who drove it...Read more

Misleading advertising of a membership service product
I had always considered RACQ to be a reputable organization until a series of experiences enlightened me to the fact that this isn't the case.
I recently looked up RACQ's information on Ultracare which is the level of cover I have been paying for over many years. My son also held Roadside Extra cover for some time, but as a casual worker dropped this in January to cut expenses.

2.5 hours wasted, set me with a third party, unprofessional and bad customer service.
My car got stuck in a muddy puddle, I waited for 90 minutes and got told they sent a third party company called Harvey and this third party refused to do the service because it is raining and wet. They contacted me with this third party who had a horrible attitude and really bad customer service and after 2 and half hour just told me can’t do anything. Useless and unreliable!

My daughters car had a flat battery, and luckily we had insisted she had RACQ. Roadside Assistance. Stuart arrived today within a very short space of time. He was extremely professional, warm and knowledgeable. We were at McDonalds Brookside on Osborne Rd Mitchelton. Hopefully he sees this and knows how grateful we are! Great job Stuart!

unreliable service
My usual 24 hour mechanic shut down quite recently without notification. The phone recording didnt state that the place had shut down and so I was emergency towed to the mechanic in the late hours of night to find the place had been abandoned. RACQ then unloaded my car and left me at an abandoned industrial block in the middle of the night in a storm by myself and drove off, because of their 'one tow per job policy'. was open at that time to take the car too. But then said because of the tow back I could no longer tow my car to another mechanic. When i made the complaint the woman on the phone said it was my fault the mechanics were not open and it was not against their policy to just leave me there. They just put the blame on me and said theres nothing to say they cant leave me in such a situation, although it may have been morally incorrect, they are fine to leave you without help in an abandoned location as it counts as your free tow.Similar opinion? 2 and a half hours wasted
I waited for 2 hours for a tow truck for one to eventually, show up i hailed it down as it completed a u turn to drive completely past me twice. I called racq for them to inform me that it was a coincidence that the truck was there at 9:00pm at night in a quite suburban street and I would have to wait another 30 minutes for a truck. If I would have known this service was so useless I would have paid for a private tow truck and never purchased a subscription. Take this into account when you think of purchasing this service. Thanks.

called after car would not start at the servo, lady said within 60 mins. 3 hours later they came and said i need a tow truck that will be at least another 3 hours (no updates during) NOT HAPPY JAN

Lovely people and great service!
The lady on the phone I believe was Emma, was extremely lovely and informative. I had just finished work and my car would not start, I work late hours so it's not ideal for this to happen when no one is awake to help me out. Luckily Lee came to my rescue and this issue was resolved in less than 10 minutes, he was very imformative and clear with what I had to do after his quick fix! Thanks so much!

Impatient and impolite call centre staff
I had a breakdown (flat battery) and had to call RACQ for roadside assist. I called and got my first rep, who I asked if it was possible to get roadside even if I didn't have it on my policy. Yes, she said, she could set it up now.
During this I had a bloke with me telling me that the odds were it was my starter motor or transmission, and that there wasn't really any point in trying to jump start the car. She then became extremely impolite, lecturing me on the fact that there were many people needing help and that I was just wasting her time, and that if I didn't want to pay for the service and get help sent out I might as well not ask at all. She said I could call back if I wanted help, but otherwise she had no choice but to hang up. I told her she could hang up and she did. The first rep was very rude, and in this sort of situation all she did was make the situation worse. 0/10, she needs more training at best. We tried to jump start it and it didn't work. Back I went again, I got a different person this time and she was just as impatient as the last one. She said I had to pay $200 up front to get any assistance at all. I asked her if it was possible to do a payment plan, or pay the emergency callout fee ($80) and pay the yearly subscription in a week or two, and she said no. Apparently it is only possible to pay it all at once or they won't send anyone out. So if my bank card doesn't work, or I can't transfer funds, or even if I'm just broke today, the RACQ doesn't care. I can twiddle my thumbs on the side of the M1 for all they care. Maybe flag down a copper and ask to use his phone, who knows. I found the money and told her I could pay. She immediately became much more polite and began "helping" me to give my bank details over. After the payment had cleared she sent me over to another rep. But, of course, not before telling me I had to set up a direct debit from that account for roadside in a year's time, and also telling me that if I didn't agree to that then and there she wouldn't pass me on.Similar opinion? Wouldn’t be without it!!!!
Very helpful and efficient right from the first phone call! I didn’t have to wait hours either even on a public holiday! They even towed me to my mechanic!!! Thank you so much for peace of mind RACQ!!!!!

Road side assistant ultimate cover is a excellent product
Roadside ultimate is efficient, effective and worth the extra money for when your travelling. A excellent service for when you need it most. Customer service representatives are professional and really friendly. First time I have ever left a review for anything so it has definitely been a great experience.

It's not what it costs you get what you pay for as a pensioner I would not be without it just a few months back I needed a battery was replace at home and a flick service check from. Around 100dollars a year to premium I have the basic and .over 10years have needed help dozens of times they always gave outstanding service thank you RACQ PJ.. Xoxo.
Can you really put a price on the following...driving 110kph, car stalls, pull over, car wont start, oil on road under car, motorway traffic flying past you at 110kph, hot day of 32c, no where to go, call RACQ and there in 20 minutes to help and a free bottle of water. Arhhh, LIFE SAVERS !. bye
