Poor customer service and average product
Product : bought a condor 3 weeks ago and had the tires upgraded to Maxxis re-fuse tires at my own cost. The staff told me they will not be punctured for sure, since they are kevlar-ed. Bike went okay for a couple of weeks (just as a commuter bike and average 10km a day) and I regularly pump the tires to a recommended psi. Guess what, had a flat tire last week. No, I wasn't using the roadie for off-road purpose or any stunt performance, just on a flat surface (bikeway). Brought the bike to the store at Coorparoo for inspection and the mechanic ...Read more
told me that the rim was not strong enough (?) so it got punctured. He then put lots of "protection" over it and "shouldn't have any issue now". I have wasted so much of my time to bring it back to the store for something that can be avoided in the beginning by giving it extra protection when the tires are upgraded, not to mention it's so frustrating to get a flat tire. Customer Service: The staff are clearly lack of any customer service orientation - for twice I patron the store, I had to wait for at least 15 minutes before someone approach me, when I can see most of the staffs are just on the phone / talking to each other / standing outside the store talking to his friends. I wasn't introduced to their bikes and explained the functionalities as well - the staff just ask me "have you looked online?". When I ask a simple question I got a very sarcastic response from the staff, as if I have asked a stupid question. The only exception was the mechanic who explained the reason of the puncture to me politely and ensure that I am satisfied with the repair before I go. As compared to other local bike shop which my boyfriend bought his bike from, Reid clearly have a big room of improvement, in terms of products and customer service. If you have extra couple of hundreds to spare, I would advise you to go to other LBS for a better bike and customer service.3 comments

Hi Carol. I can only apologise if you felt the staff did not serve you very well. I have passed your comments to the Brisbane manager who will review it. So you know in future, no tyre is puncture pro... Read more
of and all staff are trained to not promise this. The language used is 'puncture resistance' - some tyres are better than others in this regard and the Maxxis Re-Fuse are widely considered to be excellent. Also, rim strength has nothing to do with punctures. I am sorry that you feel frustrated by your experience with flat tyres but it does happen sometimes - no LBS in the world will take responsibility for a flat tyre as we can't be held responsible for what you have ridden through.
It is funny that while I am purchasing the bikes ur staff seem to emphasize repeatedly how the tires would not be punctured, but as soon as I get two punctures in a month, everyone at Reid now sings "... Read more
everybody gets punctures". Anyways I am over Reid, good luck and all the best to you and your potential and existing customers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent customer service!
We bought 2 ladies' vintage bikes from the Reid Cycles store in Glebe, NSW and we can't be happier with our bikes. We were served by Ben, who helped us with everything from choosing our bikes to installing our bike rack onto the back of our car. Thank you Ben for your patience and help! We will definitely be coming back to the store for more accessories.

Good Customer Service from Mandy / Josh
I bought a Reid Griffon road bicycle about one month ago and I was satisfy with the customer service from Mandy and Josh from the Parramatta Road store. I recommend the service. The quality of the product is good in proportion of the price, however I got some difficulties with seat adjustment, it moves every time I adjust it again. Far from that everthing good.

A legend!
Unfortunately my first Create C8G was stolen last night. It was an awesome bike sold to me by [name removed]. She was patient with me and also very knowledgable about her products. It was the 6th or 7th bike that I took for a test ride that day and resulted in me buying it. That was only 6 months ago.
So as I was saying last night my beautiful bike got taken away from me too soon. So this morning I didn't know what to do. I thought instantly of [name removed] and decided to go into the store and have a chat. I was actually in luck and there...Read more
happened to be the exact same bike (in a different colour) which had been built for someone else and they changed their mind. [name removed] sorted out the situation and looked after me really well and once again I ended up buying the bike. It is worth the wait to speak to [name removed] if you want quality service. I'm not saying the others are not good because I haven't actually been served by anyone else, but if I go in I will wait until [name removed] is free.Similar opinion? Sales and service
Just had a great experience at Reid store Camperdown on Parramatta road. The staff there were very helpful and obliging. There was no pressure to buy just helpful advice. I bought 2 bikes and wanted one stored till Christmas but they wouldn't do this as they had limited space available. So have to find somewhere to store it till Chrissy. A riding review will follow after Chritmas.

Excellent, knowledgable, friendly service
I went to buy a bike today at Reid cycles in Sydney after not having owned one for decades! Despite me knowing nothing about bikes, all the staff were very knowledgeable, and explained things in a way I could understand in a non-patronising way. They were friendly and helpful without pressurising, and even gave out little toys and stickers to my kids. I am very pleased with the bike, which suits me well. Their advice on the care of the bike was invaluable. I would be very happy to recommend Reid cycles to anyone.

Excellent service and outstanding products
Hey Peeps!!! We have just purchased two excellent Reid bicycles and was very well assisted by your customer service team. They was so helpful and able to answer all our questions about the best bicycle option for us. We would like to express our appreciation for the excellent service provided by staff. We are very happy with our bikes. We went to Centennial Park to ride our new bikes and we have enjoyed every moment in that beautiful and sunny day.
Thank you Guys so much for the great product, and more important, thank you for the outstanding customer service. We will strongly recommend your company to all of our friends.
Cheers

Great Service
We dealt with [Name Removed] at the Sydney Store. My husband had ordered 2 ladies bikes from her over the phone. We were not from Sydney and had traveled quite a distance to pick up our bikes on the weekend. She could not do enough for us. The store was very busy when we were there but she still took the time to be friendly and informative. We were supposed to receive free lights with our bikes but the store had none left. Mandy said she would happily post them to us because we lived so far away. We love our bikes. Brilliant!

Specifications on website and actual product not match!!!
Bought X226 from melbourne store yesterday. On the way back, i checked and notice the Front Derailleur is Shimano Altus instead of Shimano Acera as stated in the website. I called and asked the staff, and they promised me will call me back on 7 Oct 2014. I did received a call from the staff, but he told me "There was an mistake on the website and the front derailleur of X226 should be Altus instead of Acera". Although they told me if I am not happy with the explanation, I can bring back the bike and have my money back, which I do not think this...Read more
is the right way as I paid for the price as advertised and I am expecting to get as advertised. I felt like being cheated, as their "so-called" mistake is not acceptable from a consumer point of view. They have updated the X226 specification on the website before the call, but luckily I have a screenshot of the bike specification and I can provide it as a proof anytime. Really disappointed with REID.1 comment
David F.Reid Cycles
Hi Cheng. Apologies for the spec error online - this was a mistake and has been rectified. As offered, we are happy to refund your purchase if you are not satisfied with this explanation. Altus is still good quality and very much fit for purpose.

Top Stuff
Bought two bikes form here - ordered over the phone and went down the next day to the Sydney store. it was obviously very busy but the staff were very helpful and juggled all the customers well. Had to wait about 20 mins to get everything sorted but it was worth the wait. They was particularly helpful and 'on it'

Very good bike but terrible customer service
I bought the bike 6 months ago, really like it. However the customer service I experienced today at Perth store was terrible. I was trying to do my first after sale service and realised I should have booked in before I come. While doing a booking, the staff was very rude. When I asked whether he wants to see my membership card for the booking, he replied "Oh do you have a membership? I don't". When I asked for the available time, he said "any" but was laughing at me when I was trying 9 in the morning as they open at 10. I believe I would go somewhere else for my future purchase.

Great bike but disappointing customer service
After reading all the great reviews I was really excited to go and buy a Reid bike, I was so dissapointed in my experience at the Parramatta Road shop. On entering the shop I was walking around a little apprehensive as there were so many bikes. Nobody approached me so I went over to the counter and asked for help, the young man looked up and said 'you'll have to wait for about 5 minutes', once he came over to assist, I felt like I was back at school, don't sit on that bike, don't do this, don't do that! I stepped on the platform yo have a look at a bike, he rudely turned around and said, ' I don't think that platform was made for people to walk on it, do you?' I ended up buying a bike but certainly not because of any great service!

Awesome stuff, service & prices!!
I've been in reid cycles in parramatta road yesterday and was was fascinated how nice they are. The staff was really kind, they helped me a lot and they let me know about very nice offers and discounts. I bought my bicycle ($248) and for $299 they gave me, helmet, basket with a liner, lock, pump, light (i could choose the ones i like). They did an amazing and very fast job. I recomend everybody to pop around there and have a look.
Thank you reid cycles! I am more than happy with my new bike!!!! You made my day and my life in sydney!!

Spectacular service, and fabulous shop!!
I went into Reid cycle on the recommendation of a work colleague. I have not ridden for over 25 years, but have decided to take it up again.
Mandy was spectacular in her service. She helped me choose the right bicycle for my needs, and helped me accessorise it so it would be practical for me to carry my products to work.
I was thrilled with the entire experience, and am very excited about learning to ride again, and this is, in great part, thanks to my purchasing experience.
Friendly service and great enthusiasm within the job
Absolutely nothing!

Fantastic Service! - Sydney Store
Had a great experience in store with the friendly and helpful staff. They were always patient with my questions and I could tell that they were passionate about their job. They tailored their recommendation around my needs rather than choosing the best/most expensive bike in the store. Most of all, they understood that as a student I did not wish to leave the store with a $1000+ bike.
I would highly recommend!!
Inexpensive, Friendly service, Free extra accessories.

Good experience at their Brisbane store
We decided to buy a mountain bike for our son's birthday. Identified what we wanted online and went to the Brisbane store to have a look. The right bike was in stock and was on sale. 15 mins later had the bike on the back of the car and on our way home. Good service from staff. Only minor issue was the person checking the bike before giving it to us forgot to put the free bottle holder on the bike and we didn't realise until we got home. They also threw in a free pump, lock, lights and water bottle holder and bottle ( which was left at the store). Recommend you check their bikes out.
Good price for what you get, efficient service

Bargain bike, friendly shop service
I ordered a Reid City 1 commuter bike online a couple of weeks ago, with pick-up from Melbourne Store. I misread the email and arrived to pick it up before the bike was ready to go. Rather than send me away, the nice guys at the shop went out the back, found a bike and assembled it on the spot for me, and I was able to ride home that night. I've had the bike for a couple of weeks now, it's perfect for my cross town commute and it handles well with a fully loaded pair of cheap pannier bags on the back.
Good value commuter bike, helpful shop staff, free first service / tune-up.

Best cycling shop I've been in so far
I went to Reid Cycles to get a new bike and the place was absolutely spotless clean. The staff were really friendly and had lots of patience with me. The service was a little slow in the beginning but we only had to wait a short while before someone got to us. A lady by the name of Mandy served us and she took the time to teach me how to look after my bike and how to use the tools she gave me.
All in all, it was a really good experience and i came away with an amazing bike

Phenomenal service
The front wheel of my reid bike was stolen this evening after I stupidly left it unlocked for the first time. Thankfully the Reid Sydney store opens till 7 and I was able to get to it to get a replacement as I need the bike for work. The service was incredible. Mandy was sympathetic and so helpful. She ensured I got my wheel replaced, gave me a terrific discount and threw in an extra bike chain for free without me asking to ensure this never happened to me again. I was so impressed not just by how well they looked after my bike but also me as a customer. I walked in feeling really down but left believing in humanity again. Had to share my experience.

Do you offer full assembly of a bike if I were to purchase one in person from a physical store? I am pretty sure I can follow your pdf guide but the gear and brake installation part just unnerves me and I'd rather have someone pro do it for me. If yes does this post-purchase service come with extra fee?

Ridiculous. Had another puncture today and had to send it back to the store. So frustrated. Ask for refund as I have completely no confidence in their products anymore and the staff member and manager... Read more
said "it's not in the policy to refund after 7 days" when most of the local bike shops have a 30 days grace period (i got the bike less than a month ago!), and "only if you got a third puncture then only we may consider to refund you". WHAT? is it in the policy that refund is only available on the third puncture?! Even the front brake starts to have problem. AVOID REID - THEY ARE NOT WORTHY OF EVERY SINGLE CENT YOU GONNA SPEND!
