Best Budget Phone out there
Welcome back to another honest review...
First off all, don't be discouraged by the negative reviews, this is a good phone for $400 - $500 range...now for the pros and cons...
Pros...
*Beautiful big 6.4" screen, colours vibrant and sharp display.
*The notch is small and hasn't bothered me at all.
*Enough CPU power to handle all the apps I've installed including games with no issues.
*Camera/video quality is excellent! seems to take good photos in low light.
Phone comes with NFC, which means you can use your phone to pay for items....Read more

Love the extra space
Good phone, happy with it generally, love the extra space. The nighttime fadeout doesnt help whith jigsaws, prefer it off. Such a brouhaha about wonderful landscape camera - but how to hold phone safely, keep fingers out of shot AND press button? Many deletes! Placement is just stupid.
Purchased in September 2021 at Online for $399.00.

Very Poor Quality PLASTIC
I bought this phone and after a month it started to bend. We returned it to store of purchse who kindly sent it away to Samsung thinking it was the battery overheating. Samsung returned the phone deeming it to be customer fault. Apparently you can apply pressure and bend the phone without it cracking or breaking. There is no other physicsl dsmage to the phone. So the phone is simply like playdough, capable of melting in your hand and Samsung do not warrant it. I am urging you DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG GALAXY A PHONES! They are made using cheap plastic materials.
Purchased in July 2021 at Officeworks Physical store for $496.00.

Good Phone
I have been using this phone for the past few months and have enjoyed it so far.
Cameras are great, takes a little bit to get the hang of the selfie feature, but other than that all is good.
Apps run fine. Great basic phone to call and message others.
Has the same features as most Samsung phones.

Pretty good for the price
The A50 is my first non iPhone for a couple of years and so far I've been encouraged by it's performance.
There's definitely nothing to complain about with the processor speed or the camera, especially for a phone under $500.
One point of frustration remains though. In my experience the fingerprint sensor is a complete dud. Though I've only had the phone 10 days there have been times when I've struggled to get back into the phone. This would certainly be a problem is you needed fast access.
All in all if you're after a relatively cheap smartphone the A50 is a good option - if you turn off the fingerprint sensor

Love this phone!
Always been a Samsung fan and once again I am not disappointed with this little beauty! Fast and furious, great capacity, beautiful camera and adjustable to suit everyone preference. As a medium priced market product, this outdoes even some of the very expensive ones!

Do not buy!
I wondered why Optus were offering this free phone on their plans and I found out the hard way. After setting up my phone and starting to explore what it had to offer, the phone crashed and went to a black screen. I thought maybe out of battery. I charged it up and still not working. I took it back to Optus and they replaced it saying it was faulty. That evening was spent transferring everything over from my old phone and setting it up as I liked and logging into all my apps. Next day at lunch with 90% battery it crashed again and could not re...Read more
boot, had fuzzy screen at one point. Took it back to Optus, fuming at this point after all the visits and time lost transferring over my data. They said it was a coincidence which is bs and not known any problems, as it happened an expert from Samsung was there and denied any issues. I looked online and lots of reports of the same issue. So here I am on my 3rd A50 within 48 hours wasted more time setting up again and wondering when it will happen again. This phone is seriously flawed and Samsung are covering up the issue. Do not buy.Purchased in September 2021.

Great mid range phone
After using a Galaxy s9 I was worried that the A50 would be a real step down but to my surprise the phone is fantastic. Bigger screen than the s9 with a beautiful thin look and fantastic features as well.

Good value phone
I am satisfied with this phone in general, but as many people mentioned here and there, the fingerprint unlock is not working well. Besides, the battery, photo quality, and performance perspective, they are better than I expected.

Hi Tom, I am not sure. I have a Samsung Gear that it connects to but is dodgy at times. Connection to In car bluetooth is terrible. Spend the extra and get a better phone.
