12 years and counting!
I really love these pots, pans and steamer.
The key is slightly lower heat, choosing the correct size burner and taking good care of them, correct and proper cleaning is a must to keep them looking good.
I use Brasso several times a year with a soft cloth like a Chux, its time consuming but well worth it.
Food that sticks, simply soak a while with hot water and quality dishwashing liquid then use a non scratch scourer or (Gumption from the supermarket... now there's a must have product)!
UPDATE: Oct 2017 Purchased another set this time for the Airbnb apartment because they are quality, look great and would outlast most other pots/pans if the correct size burner is used and they are maintained as mentioned above.
The look, quality, longevity

I love my Scanpan Impact Wok with lid 36cm
I bought the Scanpan Impact Wok with lid 36cm model. It is stainless steel and has a thick base for even heat distribution. I love the fact it has no non-stick bits that could come off in cooking and for a family with 4 -6 members or more it is large enough to take a lot of ingredients. The design is great and it fits nicely on my cooktop even though I have a wall to the left of my cooktop (I measured the space before I purchased the Wok). This is a large item to have in your kitchen but if you like healthy stirfry meals and Asian cooking, this...Read more
Wok would become a favourite item very quickly. We also have a large Sunbeam electric Wok which another family member uses on rare occasions but I found it cumbersome to get it out of the cupboard and it takes up my bench top space in my compact kitchen whereas this Wok sits on my cooktop leaving my benchtop free. I have an electric glass topped cooktop but I believe this Wok is designed for many cooktops (check manufacturers site for details). I have made so many nice meals now in this Wok and I use it several times a week. It has inspired me to make some really nice Asian style meals and I have made fried rice in it as well as noodle dishes. My family is very happy with my cooking and I owe it all to this great Wok which is also healthier in my opinion as it is stainless steel and has no non stick coating to worry about. This fact alone inspires me to use it more. It is easy to clean and a joy to use. I always use non metal utensils such as wood or those made for non stick cooking in my Wok so I don't scratch the Wok (I also don't like metal scraping on metal in my cooking). I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this Wok to anyone especially those with a large family tp cook for :)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

total disappointment
I used my scanpan on gas, as any other pan. -food burnt down, and l could never get rid of the burn marks in the pan whatever I tried. When l used it again, with lots of oil, same result. Now it sits on the self, as it is too expensive to throw it in the bin where it belongs.

Beats non stick sets hands down.
Replaced 25yo Raco set with these. They heat rapidly, distribute the heat evenly and even burnt on teenager's goo cleans off readily with a little elbow grease.
They are heavy, that's because of the amount of metal in them. They do have big handles, but for me that makes them easier to use. Only complaint is that the 20cm steamer set only has one lid, so you can't put the steamer on a smaller saucepan to save energy and use the bigger saucepan with a lid on it.

cheap and good
I bought the scanpan impact for my new induction top. They were cheap and they are good. I like the glass lids and the heavy base. The finish is nice and handles strong and well fitted. I have formal training and cooked commercialy for many years, two at the benelong.

I’m really happy with the set.
The pots have excellent heat distribution, they are easy to clean and the glass lids are super handy. All of the pots and the steamer are just the right size for my family. The only downside is that the set did not come with a non stick frying pan. If I was to create a perfect set, I’d get rid off the baking tray and replace it with an additional non stick frying pan.

Tall sides, narrow base and holds 11 litres
This 11 litre stockpot has a base measuring 25cm, which is perfect for my Induction cooktop 22cm plate. The clear lid and tall sides 22cm deep (inside measurement) made cooking marmalade a non-boilover event. It is easy to clean and functions beautifully.

Best choice to buy these
Love this range of pans. They look super expensive and quality. I was worried buying as saw 50 % great reviews and 50% complaints. Im on the happy side. Im no great cook at all but did my research on how to use steel cookware. Theres plenty of help on the net so u can avoid burning and over sticking. Most of the time with sticking if u just leave ur meat for a little bit it will allow u to then lift yo flip without sticking. U have to wait until the meat fibres release. They are super easy to clean but to remove water marks just use a little st...Read more
eel cleaner after each use and they look brand new. I bought the esteele steel cleaner. A $20 pot goes a long way. If u need a stove top steamerthe scanpan one is just fab. Highly reccomend it. I used to use the george foreman stand alone plastic steamer. Scanpan leaves that thing for dead. I have become a much better cook dince using them, so family have said. And i think thats because i have to take that little time to think about what im doing and what temperature i need. Also these are great if u have ceramic stove as they will not scratch the glass like my old tefal ones did! I bought the double steamer, frypan, casserole pot, saucepan, saute pan, chefs pan. Very happy with them all. Also very happy with purchasing them from kitchenwaredirect.com.au what a great company. Fast delivery, great packaging and free gift!! Plus their prices were ridiculously low to any retail store, even much cheaper than myer when they have scanpan 40-50% off!!its a shame to see so many negative reviews, like 1 star. Im surprised as i said im not that great and have had no problems. As another reviewer mentioned maybe its to do with you heating element, whether ur induction, ceramic or gas. So for me excellent on ceramic glass so i cant comment on thr others.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Scanpan Frypans
I have just renovated my Kitchen after 25 years and decided to invest in what I thought where great frypans.
Wrong as on my first use it scratched my brand new glass hotplates. I then was extra careful when I used it again on another hotplate and again small scratches appeared.
They are definitely not made for glass cooktops and this should be stated clearly before we waste our money on them.

Scan pan Coppernox
Just to add on to the previous review there is vented holes on the side of the saucepan lids (you need to look close). I am extremely happy with my set. Even heat distribution, cooks well

Scanpan 36cm Impact Stainless Steel Wok
I thought I would try a stainless steel wok. Never again. This wok is very heavy but tinny in feel. It does not get particularly hot. It is 'V' shaped rather than 'U' shaped, which makes it very large for the amount of food it can handle. Cooking is slow. It is a large heavy waste of metal, in my opinion. Definitely not for me but stainless steel freaks may like it.

Scanpan Impact
All I can say is these pots and pans are the BIGGEST waste of money I have ever spent. Food gets stuck on the bottom of pans no matter how much oil you put in and the inside of both the pots and pans burns and you can't get the mark off. I'm sad to say I spent close to $400 on these piles of junk which I now have to chuck in the bin. Please don't waste your money and do not trust the scan pan name because the pots and pans are terrible!

Wok a failure !!
I bought this wok because of the Scanpan name. In this wok everything sticks to the bottom, no matter how much oil you use, and when cooking with gas you can't turn the flame up as is it leaves burn marks up the inside of the pan. It tends to stew meat rather than stir fry because the pan doesn't heat up the sides and cooks only on the bottom. There are way too many issues to consider when trying to cook a quick, simple stir fry in this wok. Don't be fooled by the Scanpan name, this wok is an expensive failure.

Scanpan Commercial 30cm frypan
Having used these frypans before and also owning other Scanpan Commercial saucepans and casserole dishes I expected a good quality product. Unfortunately the frypan I received was defective. It builds up food residue and oil on the surface which are impossible to clean or remove via handwashing (consistent with the care instructions) or through the dishwasher. Even using it on the lowest heat, to warm things like roti bread leaves marks and oil on the pan which cannot be removed through washing, scrubbing or soaking. I have now found that u...Read more
sing a special stainless steel cleaner is the only way I can clean this pan of routine food residue and marks - this proved to be so time consuming that I no longer use this pan. To make matters worse, I have been unable to get through to Sheldon and Hammond, who administer the warranty for Scanpan, and several emails have gone unanswered and unacknowledged after 2 weeks. I realise that products can be faulty now and again, but the complete inability to even answer my queries is terrible. While the other Scanpan items I've purchased have all been fine, this experience has completely put me off this brand. In summary, great item if you get one that works as it should, good luck to you if you get a dud like I did. Heats up well and cooks evenly. Long handle stays cool. Defective surface of the frypan makes it impossible to remove oil and food residue (without resorting to using specialist stainless steel cleaner). After sales support non-existent. Sheldon and Hammond don't respond to warranty queries.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

waste of money
I bought a scanpan frying pan 8mths ago and initially found it great but over the last month or so have found food sticking and the surface degenerating despite careful use and cleaning during this time.
The lifetime warranty is a joke and just about excludes anything that can go wrong with it.
No, I can't recommend nor would I buy again

Under whelmed. Waste of money
After having basic pans for years I decided to upgrade.
I bought two scanpan impact frying pans one small and one large and an Essteele sauté pan at the same time.
I love the Essteel - poles apart in cooking quality and ease.
Note nether the Essteele or the impact are non sitck so I am comparing like with like.
Also I have been trained by Chefs to 706/1 C&G and have worked in hotel kitchens.
Why do I dislike Scanpan impact pans so?
They aren't balanced- the handle out weighs the pan! I have a gas hob and the little pan in particu...Read more
lar requires either constant holding to keep it in the middle of the flame or propping up by an inanimate object. This is simply dangerous and I do not expect this from a company of this reputation or at this cost. On an induction or electric hob I suspect this would not be a problem.Similar opinion? Good quality but flawed design
We recently purchased a set of Scanpan Accent saucepans and the multifit steamer. Not cheap but very good quality and attractive items. The major flaw is that the saucepan lid handles get too hot to handle. Hard boil an egg and you can't lift the lid without a cloth. Poor design in this day and age.
Attractive and well made.
Lid handles get too hot to hold.

Love my new Impact Scanpan set
I have eventually bit the bullet and bought the scanpan impact set (aster much research of other brands and other types of Scanpan). My daughters both have Scanpan classic which for the first 12 - 18 months, were the wonder utensil of their kitchens and I was ready to buy the same, despite the fact I would have to wash by hand rather than use the dishwasher, but they have both found the non-stick surface (despite diligent care) has not lasted well after 18 months; they still suggested Scanpan as the optimal brand, but chose the Stainless steel...Read more

Scanpan Impact Frypans
I recently purchased 2 Scan Pan frying pans and am absolutely delighted with them. After using teflon coated pans most of my cooking life it did take a few trials to get used to cooking on stainless steel, but I have persevered and now I find them fab- eggs are still a challenge though. Delivery and general service was outstanding as usual, and I look forward to my daily newsletters
Sturdy and well made
Still can't cook eggs yet

Saucepans Okay Frypans Waste of Space
Don't bother with the Impact Frypan it burns everything at the lowest heat possible and you have to soak it for days and it still wont clean, And forget the lifetime Warranty Scanpan do not honour any Warranty, just Say you must have treated it incorrectly, a very expensive wastes of space.
Lifetime Warranty not honoured, burns everything wont clean

Bought a stainless steel scan-an wok ... high heat for stir fry is impossible in this pan. Had a scanpan non stick .... perfect for many years. Swapped for the stainless steel ... very disappointed.( I have a gas cooktop & wok burner)
a)what am I doing wrong?
b) where to dispose of my new pan?

Definitely cook on the lowest heat ...... don’t dispose ... I’ve persevered with mine and only ever have my gas at the minimum flame
Thanks Mandy.
Will put it on trial for another recipe.
