Absolutely worth it
Had it for 1 year and absolutely love it. Use it 2-3 times a day at least in our household. No issues with it, still looks brand new and no colour fading. The machine makes really good coffee! It’s always consistent and the temperature is always perfect. Could not be happier with it! Cant recommend enough!
Purchased in April 2021 at David Jones for $280.00.

Loved this machine! Delicious coffee but unfortunately it’s stopped working.
I love my SMEG machine but unfortunately it’s stopped working. When the coffee button is pressed it powers on then seems to trail off and nothing comes out. Quite disappointed!
Purchased in October 2021.

Love my new Smeg Coffee Machine.
Great colours and ease of use and looks good. I had another brand which use to leave the coffee weak but this machine brews a beautiful ground coffee. Easy to clean with just a wipe down. Wouldn't trade it for another machine. Not cheap but well worth it.
Purchased in January 2021 at Kitchen Warehouse Online Store for $499.00.

Love it
This is a great looking, easy to use and easy to clean machine. The coffee tastes great, consistent time after time. I have had my machine for several months now and I look forward to every coffee. I prefer the coffees I make at home to most coffee shop coffees now.

Cannot live without
This is by far the best coffee machine. It is easy to set - up, easy to use, easy to clean and in general perfect. Its an excellent addition to any family . Love the range of colours it comes in. Would love if it had a larger water tank. Heast coffee to a good temp and also the milk.

Like a pro
Well this item in our kitchen is a focal point. Many colours to choose from. From the work go you have many choices of different coffee selections programs to choose from. Again not a cheap product, but you will not be disappointed. The milk steam and froffer is so powerful and the machine is so easy to clean. Looks smike in your kitchen.

Excellent so far - no frills just basic but works
We bought this after a bad experience with a much more expensive and complicated machine. Its been great so far. Basic with no frills but works which is exactly what we wanted. You have to make sure not to fill the coffee filter baskets too much or they won't click in so we don't use the one cup one as it isn't big enough for the amount of coffee you need for a mug. Changing settings is a bit of a pain due to only having the 3 buttons to work with. Its easy to clean, looks cool, doesn't take up too much room, heats up quickly and if it lasts we'll be super happy with it.

Hopefully it will last
I bought it in blue from TVSN, have had it since 22/2/18. Have so far used the full replacement warranty once, no questions asked pretty much. The Plastic seal/rubber at the top of frother was cracking due to heat. So I got the machine replaced. I will be surprised if it last for several years, not sure it’s fantastic quality. Specially if it has cracked already in only 2 months. But the warranty is their if I need it. Looks nice and is small, so easy to fit on bench. Not much too it, I bought my own coffee grinder so didn’t need one attached. ...Read more
This doesn’t come with a grinder, but I find it better to have a coffee machine only focus on pressure and extraction. Not have an inbuilt coffee grinder, I find they have problems and are exspensive to fix. Makes a good cuppa but can’t put a large cup underneath. So I use a jug and fill that up to make a large coffee. Easy to clean but the metal and mirror gets dirty easy and stains easy. Need to make sure you clean it every time and wipe it. I gave it 3 stars as I am happy with the coffee at the moment. Hopefully it will last. I buy coffee beans whole from Aldi which buy them from Melbourne. Coffee is yummy and cheap. Freshly grinded beans are much better. I have tried both and all sorts of coffee brands. Aldi is cheap and taste beautiful suprisingly. Better then the more expensive bean brands.Similar opinion? Overpriced
For the price of this machine you are better off spending the extra $$ and get one that takes beans. The pale blue colour gets dirty and stains easily and is a pain to clean. Avoid this if possible thank you for taking the time to read my review peace out.

Worked for first 5 coffees then stopped
I fell in love with the design of the machine and thought being Smeg, it was likely to be well designed and built. Whilst the design was what you’d expect from Smeg (loved it), the build felt a bit cheap. There was quite a lot of plastic like components including the power button which use to ‘stick’ and sometimes take ~30mins to pop back out. After the first 5 uses, the machine failed to turn back on to make coffees. I took it back to exchange and process through retailer was smooth and efficient. Unfortunately there weren’t any replacements a...Read more
vailable so they refunded my money. Aside from that, the steam wand is very short and only makes cappuccino froth. If you love cappuccinos then it will suit you, but if you want to make anything else (latte, flat white etc) then it’ll produce way too much air in the milk (which isn’t want you want when you’re trying to make creamy silky smooth milk for a latte). Having owned a breville for the last 10 years, I’ve decided to go back to them as it’s often rated number 1 for home espresso machines across many review sites/critics. Hopefully the fault was just a once off with the Smeg espresso machine, but I didn’t want to risk it again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So far I like it, and its very cute
For the price I am impressed, although I am no professional barista. Its a little bit noisy, the tray where the cup sits will scratch easily and I have to remove the drip tray to fit my 350ml coffee travel cup but for less than $500, it still makes a nice cup of coffee (with crema) and if youre using nice beans, its a step up from the pod machines. Its also the nicest looking coffee machine Ive ever seen. I have not used the milk frother yet, I did read in the manual that you will need to cool the machine after using the frother if you want to make more coffees. Overall, I would recommend it.

Beautiful but wears too easily
Purchased end of May 2017 and was so happy with it. Makes great coffee, easy to clean and use. After a couple of days I noticed the plate the cup sits on was scratched up, and now after 2 months it looks horrible worn. I only use the light weight smeg cup from the pack I purchased so I'd hate to think what a normal cup would do. It wouldn't bother me if he product was a cheap brand but between that and the letters off the also new smeg jug falling off, in very disappointment in the brand after spending so much on all the appliances.

My milk is always so bubbly when I steam it with the machine. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I’ve tried all of the hints and tips. I’m after that glossy smooth finish. I’m wondering if the wand is the issue? Is it too short and wide?

Hi,
I bought a smeg coffee machine 4 weeks ago. I am having trouble pulling coffee thru, I get a dribble of the coffee isn’t extremely coursely ground or I tamper it too hard, which isn’t that hard at all.
Twice I have bought coffee beans ground & had to take them back because they were ground too fine for the coffee machine, even tho I told the barrister it’s a home espresso. They’re actually surprised it’s not pulling the coffee thru at the grind they’re giving me & surprised at how course I need it.
Also if I tamper it with just the slightest pressure it won’t pull thru. It’s also almost impossible to pull a 2 cup thru as there’s too much coffee in, it’s a dribble. I’ve gone thru 3 bags & continuing to play around with it but beginning to think there’s a problem with the pressure? Should this be happening?
Because I’m not giving pressure to the tamper, I’m not knocking out a biscuit either, it’s a coffee slush I scrape out with a spoon. Surely something’s wrong?
Thanks,
Michele

Thank you for your enquiry regarding your Smeg Coffee machine. We would suggest that you trial the Vittoria coffee range, readily available from your supermarket. This is the brand that we use on all of our demonstrations as well as TVSN. We find that the coffee grind on this particular brand is suitable for our machines. If this works, then there could be a variance with the coffee grind compared to the Vittoria brand and you would have to request that he grind be altered. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further enquiries. Kind Regards, SMEG AUSTRALIA
We have the same issue. There's lots of different coffees out there and I don't have access to Vittoria, nor do I know if it's particularly tasty. We buy a coffee that has a bio-degradable bag but the fine blend is also 'too fine'despite being for espresso machines.
Can you please give us some kind of idea of how fine is too fine if we were to buy a grinder?
