It's a decent little vacuum for the price
Would be good for a flat with just adults I think. Our kids make quite a bit of mess and it was always getting blocked. But as I say I reckon it's the perfect vacuum for two people in a flat, not for sucking up papers popcorn and muesli bars on a daily basis.

I bought my vacuum cleaner a few years ago from Aldi, it has never let me down, not once! We have renovated our home, and there was a lot of plaster dust, and this vacuum cleaned it up with no hassles, BUT you do need to clean the filters quite often, ( I don't find it a problem). If this one ever breaks down I will get another one, for the price they charge its not worth worrying about warranties.

Surprising vacuum at a good price, but make sure you clean the filters
When I bought my vacuum cleaner I expected it to perform the same as any cheap one. However, was pleasantly surprised and love it. I manage the house quickly as I don't have to repeatedly go over the same piece of flooring. One word of warning though! you need to clean the heap filter and the post motor filter. When suction was reduced I cleaned the pre-motor filter and post motor filter. Both are fiddly but it made a great difference to the operation of the machine. Unfortunately the spring in the crevice/brush tool has 'sprung out' making it almost inoperable. I hope I can get a replacement part. anyone else had this problem?
You know for an affordable Aldi vacuum cleaner — its great, especially at a student flat, light, easy to use, not much fuss. Even has an adjustable power-suction control dial on the top-side.
Just as a few negatives, a little noisy when wanting to have a mid conversation with others, and the hose on my version, (*note: not to sure where my mother purchased it from originally, but maybe it was at Aldi Australia) type of Lumina (R) pops out sometimes when doing a fast house clean at my parents' place. Wish it came with more reusable bags thoug...
Read moreh. However, the bags are great to re-use to clean and so shows how long I've had it for now, so yes it's a very versatile tool for a home activity that I usually don't like doing. Oh and theirs no problem with over extending the machine's power-cord either because it's retractable mainly for safety reasons. All in all - still under warranty and very reliable variation to Aldi's Bagless Vacuum cleaner.Find out how ALDI Bagless Vacuum Cleaners compares to other Barrel Vacuum Cleaners

Easy to clean. Great power and suction. Had to stop using it due to the electric shock it gave me.
I have read some really interesting negative reviews of the Aldi cyclonic vac. Loses suction after a couple of weeks or months, seems to be the common whinge. I say whinge, because I bet the people who commented as such, never bothered to clean the filters. Yes, suction drops off when filters are dirty. I clean mine every couple of months and the vacuum works perfectly. Better that the heap of rubbish Electrolux that we paid 10 times the price for and lasted till a week after the warranty. Maintain your vacuum and it should serve you well.
Still going strong
What can I say that can further add to the existing reviews? Again, the motor failed after a very short period of use. This qualifies for a zero star rating! The vacuum cleaner looks OK and is presumably trying to mimic something that actually might have a good reputation. Avoid at all costs!
Most of the electrical items I have purchased from Aldi have all failed.

Bought this 4 months ago and it is awesome. My daughter has a $800 Dyson and my $79 Aldi vacuum runs rings around it. Top it off it comes with a 3 year warranty. I will recommend this to everyone i know. The quality is great and the price is unbelievable. Another fine product from Aldi

Mine unfortunately broke recently, after 3.5 years. (The cord was pulled too hard I think.) It was fantastic. Suction was amazing. Every couple of months we pulled it apart and gave it all a wash and it was like brand new. I wish I could get my hands on another one!
Reliable, cheap, quiet.

Worked OK for about a year, then blew up - literally - smoke, sparks, horrible smell. At a guess the electric motor decided it didn't want to play any more. Wasn't great even when living - the cord is too short for most houses. You get what you pay for with Aldi...

You get what you pay for, suction started to die after two weeks. All plastic, so gives off a hot plastic smell. Asking for a refund tommorrow. I do not recommend Aldi electricals. You get what you pay for, suction started to die after two weeks. All plastic, so gives off a hot plastic smell. Asking for a refund tommorrow. The dust filter as good.
Lost suction after two weeks.

I had been putting off buying a vacuum cleaner mostly due to high cost. Found this vac on sale for $19 and thought how could you go wrong?? First test and it picked up a lot of dust and dog hair. Very impressed so far. It does feel cheap but easy to clean and empty. Lets see how long it lasts..,
Picks up a lot of dust. Easy to empty
Feels cheap

While I had little problem with the cleaner, as such, parts were difficult to find. it is under 3 yr warranty but the belt broke and this would be considered normal wear and tear. I eventually bought replacement from Tempo in Sydney for $25. It broke almost imediately. Also a piece of plasric broke off the holder for the solid tubibg.
Good sduction. Reasonable size waste container.
Poor quality. Difficult to find parts.
that is all. last cheap vacuum was rubbish so we thought we'd try this aldi one since they always seem to have great products. great long handle and cord, easy to empty dust canister. gets under low furniture easily. would recommend if anyone is looking for a cheap awesome vacuum cleaner with all the features of an expensive one

I hesitated buying a cheap vacuum, but my expensive one still only lasted a couple of years. This has great suction, not too loud nor too heavy!!
The design is great - the handle makes it easy to pick up, and the wheels work well. it has a clever tool on board that serves as a 2 in one. I haven't noticed it scratching the floors and the cord is longer than most too! Highly recommended for the price.
Love this vacuum, and not that it's important, but I love the colour too :-) Great price as well, and 2 year warranty.
Nothing so far, but only owned it for a couple of weeks.

We own an electrolux vacuum cleaner (non bagless) which cost us around $650. The head broke on this and while it was being fixed under warranty we bought a Aldi Lumina Bagless Vacuum for $99. This vacuum cleaner is fantastic. It got aturbo head which has a handle with speed/ power controls. It does a fantastic job on our carpet, so powerful it pulls the carpet up a little! Its a little loud, but this does not bother me. Comes with a 1 year warranty. From a dog that just loves to leave hair around the carpet this machine does a great job and can highly recommend it! I feel a silly for paying so much for our electrolux now as i truly cannot see or feel the difference.
Powerful at a fantastic price.
We love it, its thje best vacuum we have ever had, small and easy to use. It is powerful and sucks up all the dust. Once again Aldi have purchases a top quality item at a low cost.
Small, light and easy to use.
Very powerful. No Bag to empty, just a waster collector area, so no more expensive bags to buy
The catch on the waste collector feels a little 'weak' and could break.
The on off switch is playing up a little, but nothing to serious
Great for the shed for vacuuming the cars as it is light and sucks like a champion. Comes with 12 months warranty and at only $89 whats to complain about.
Brilliant design for the money. Easy to pull apart and clean if you've vacuumed an industrial amount of plaster dust!
Very intelligent design for the money. Its not dyson but its easily the best cheap vacuum out there. I just vacuumed up heaps of plaster dust. After emptying the canister I love the fact i can pull the canister apart and rinse it to clean out any tiny particals remaining. We had a Miele which wasn't bad but the Miele vacuum bags cost $20 each time it needed a new one and it cost 4 times the price in the first place. The Miele lo...

Read moreng still buying the miele!! My hubby was telling me I'd made a mistake and that the aldi one will be [censored word removed] (in time). It has a 3 year warranty, was over 1/3 of the price, is bagless and the colour I love "red" - Im thinking after reading your review that I"ve prob made the right choice! Thankyou : )WARNING - Vacuuming up plaster dust WILL destroy the motor in a vacuum cleaner - I know, because this is how I blew up one of mine.
Took it back to the manufacturer - they did repair and clean it out under warranty, but were NOT impressed.

For carpets it is excellent as it picks everything up without having to go over it 20 times. Shame about the nasty finish of the floor tool though as it makes it useless for hard floors that you don't want all scratched up.
Really good suction - had to lessen it now and then as it was so strong! I had not problems with it picking up long hair. Easy to remove and empty dust cannister.Long cord.
Can't use it on my tiles or hardwood floors as it the bottom of the floor tool is very rough and it scratches them. Bit annoyed about this as it means I will have to keep my old vacuum cleaner just for doing the hard surfaces :(

Stunning value for $99. Mind you my old vacuum cleaner was 20 years old, so I guess technology has moved on a bit.
Really good suction. I like that it doesn't need bags. Very quiet. I hate vacuum cleaner noise and this one is really low on the "irritation factor" scale. The manual is really clear and easy to understand.
I like the 2-in-1 crevice tool attachment. You just slide the brush down the crevice tool to use the brush part.
The length of cord is good and the cord rewind works well.
Nowhere to stow the wand when you put it away.

Good product, great design, looks nice, good suction and reasonable price. What else do you expect from a vacccum cleaner.
Yes Great product worth $99. Good suction and nice design for cleaning dirt in the container. Much better than other expensive brands. plus comes with 2 years warranty. Worth it.
Thanks Owen.
Cant think of any at the moment.

Great quality for the money - Lumina Signature bagless vacuum Model CBS 2012
I have a previous model of the lumina vacuum which I purchased 3 years ago, but purchased this one also as the dust bin and filter on this one seemed easier to be cleaned. The older version had a corrugated paper filter in the lid which got very dirty. This one is a washable plastic filter and a micro filter in one of the wheels. The suction is amazing considering it's only 1300W, in fact it is a bit annoying when vacuuming rugs. Also the duster brush is a great little swivel brush which gets in anywhere. Comes with a 3 year warranty which is a great improvement to previous models which only had 1 year. I guess they are move confident about this model.
Easy to empty dust bin
The cover of the micro filter in the wheel comes off too easily.
The quality of the motor is suspect and says little fot the sustainability of such products if 4 months is the life of such electrical goods. In comparison I have been using an AWA bagless vacuum 900W. It had near the same suction and has been operating for about 30 years in my possession. It was bought second hand- not new! Stopped using it when it started to give a mild electric shock through the plastic tubes. We have no problems with Aldi given their response and refund though a little curious they didn't want the machine returned.
We were ...
Perfect machine, with great suction, and easy to cleaan, BUT>>>> the belt that turns the brush snaps so easy! Only used the thing twice and already the belt has gone. Made of cheap rubber or something! Makes a good vacuum cleaner useless, which is a shame. In the 1950's and earlier, most products were made to last for decades, but today it's only made to last todays, so they can sell you the spare parts! Where do you buy the belts?
Great suction, relatively quiet, and green is a nice colour!
The belt! why aren't spares included?

I don't recommend you buy it! Very poor value for $99. This the third dud purchase from Aldi. They may be good for groceries, but be very cautious about their electrical goods.
Light, compact, cheap and bagless
Poor suction. Motor only lasted 11 months. Filter collapsed. Had to remove hard floor brush just to suck up visible dirt. The motor was also very loud.

Further to the problem with the crevice tool, I report that Aldi sent a replacement and it arrived the next day. Great service.
