Tempur not recommended
Bed is only 3 years old, spent 7,500 and I cannot even sleep on it. The 15yr warranty is a ploy to pay a lot of money for a bed with no guarantee as tempur will only replace a mattress if the sagging is visible. Tempur must know the materials used break down after time and clearly the materials are not the quality I was promised and the Tempur name is not the quality promised either.
Purchased in September 2021 at Bedshed QLD, Aspley for A$7,250.00.

Lumpy, uneven and a back killer..
A after a few months I found myself sleeping in an indent on my side. If I tried to to move out of it. It was like sleeping uphill. I can only sleep on one side.. And I wake up sore and with headaches even with regular rotations. I emailed customer service and complained. There was intense measuring and photographs required .. And I was told I needed an 18mm indent. I have a 16mm.. Tempur should try sleeping in a 16mm hole - it's not acceptable. $3000 for nothing. It's not acceptable.
Purchased in October 2021 at Domayne NSW, Alexandria for A$3,000.00.

Consumers beware of Tempurs utter lack of respect for consumer guarantees!
Tempur believes they're above the law as they rejected my legitimate warranty claim for a repair, refund or replacement.
I purchased a 'pressure relieving' mattress from Tempur that lost its firmness in the most critical areas after a mere 3.5 years of use. So much so that it is no longer usable as my wife and I experience severe back problems after continued use. Tempur believes that there is no manufacturing fault, even though a 5kg weight sinks 20mm more in the affected areas when compared to lesser used areas of the mattress. The mattress...Read more
is no longer fit for purpose (its basically a very expensive hammock), which is covered under our consumer guarantees as legislated within Australian Consumer Law. So much for a 15 year 'guarantee'! In summary, if you're thinking about buying a Tempur mattress, you should probably buy a Sealy Australia mattress instead!Purchased in November 2021 for A$2,000.00.

I never knew a bed could change so much in my life
Oh My God!!! I’ve had the mattress for almost 2 weeks now & the last 4 nights I have literally discovered what it means when ppl say they “Sleep like a baby”.
I have been completely comatosed & I don’t think even an earthquake would wake me up. I can’t remember the last time I slept like that. I wake up so refreshed & I cannot feel my partner get up thru the night at all. Definitely worth every penny.
Purchased in March 2021 for A$3,000.00.

Disappointing - sagged after 6 months use - painful bed and painful process to fix
Are you feeling lucky? After research and experience, Tempur is a love or hate brand (in our case, love, then hate) and the only way to tell is to sleep on one for months. Sadly Tempur do not offer a comfort guarantee like they do in the USA so it's an expensive gamble.
Tempur claim a 1% return rate which is totally believable because you have to almost take legal action before they care - they play every trick to wear you down and I suspect most people just give up. It took an enormous amount of time, energy and stress to get our clearly fail...Read more
ing mattress replaced. Pros: - The Sensation model feels most like traditional mattress and is super comfortable once you get used to it. - No pressure points make it feel like you're floating. - Doesn't have the 'quicksand' feel of the base model - Can't feel partner movementPurchased in August 2021 at Domayne Physical store for A$3,300.00.

No Fitted Sheets for all Tempur 22cm wall size mattresses
Only 4 days old. Too early for accurate review. So far, mattress is hot and sheets with Tempur Protector crumpled. Heavy to lift when making bed. I cannot buy fitted sheets. Today Tempur Customer Response is, word for word, spelling included “I am unsure as to wear you can purchase the correct sheets, You could try Logan & Mason to see if they have anything suitable”. I have been to Snooze, Spotlight, Adair’s, Sheridan, even “googled” and phoned around. What has happened to normal mattress sizing? Buyer beware as Tempur wall is only 22cm. Fitted Sheets are 30-50cm.
Purchased in January 2021 at Snooze for A$2,400.00.

So far so good
I have been wanting a Tempur for the better part of five years and had my first night on it last night. This mattress is very different to anything I have slept on ever. It’s supportive without been too firm. ( we bought the medium firmness) I have a weak lower back and dodgy shoulders. I felt very supported on this mattress and have woken up feeling rested.
I would like to add though that Tempur do not make it easy to choose the right mattress as each store that stocks Tempur mattresses seem to have different names for the different mattres...Read more

Horribly hard
The mattress I received is so hard that it is impossible for me to sleep on it without a 10cm latex topper that I have purchased on ebay. It is cold in Tasmania so maybe Tempur is not suitable for this state as the top layer of the Tempur mattress feels unyielding. The mattress in the shop was very comfortable but the one I received is extremely uncomfortable. It causes my back and hips to ache if I try to sleep on it without the 10cm topper. I feel like I have wasted $2500 and I am very disappointed. I phoned Tempur and was told to walk on the mattress to soften it. That has not helped.

Dirty Mattress
I received the queen mattress I purchased from Domayne over the weekend. The mattress is boxed with a clear plastic covering the mattress. When I unboxed I can dirty footsteps all over the mattress through the plastic bag. I don’t know how the warehouse can box a dirty mattress at first place. Since the old mattress has be removed when I got the new one. I had to sleep on sofa when I paid so much for a great mattress. It’s a very unpleasant experience.

I'm amazed as to how a new mattress can be covered in dirty footprints, once manufactured in our factory in Demark, the mattress is sealed and boxed. It's near impossible for this to occur. This is certainly something I have never experienced in my time working for TEMPUR. Please contact me directly so we can discuss in detail as to you experience - [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from you. - LCSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

not worth the money/ product sags
Like others have said the mattress does have a bad odor, it is so strong the whole bed room will smell. It is a foam, rubber kind of smell. It lasts a few months.
Also agreeing with other reviews the samples in the showrooms are 100 times more comfortable that the one I was given at home. I used to have to fight my kids to sleep in their own beds at night but since I got this mattress neither of them wants to sleep with me as they say it's too hard.
Not the reason for the review though. My mattress sagged after a year, I am not large and ...Read more

When it comes to our customer service practices, we have to refer all raised claims back to our parent company in Denmark, they then review the images and make a decision on whether they deem a claim to be covered, this is why our Customer Service department required you to take such specific photos. As stipulated by our warranty, any indentation of 2cm or more will be covered and we will replace your mattress free of charge. Therefore, there must be a point of reference and it must clearly show that there is an indentation of 2cm or more. Examples of correct photos would have been sent your way to make sure this process is as easy as possible. I've also had a look through your claim file and it seems you haven't raised the initial issues in your review with our Customer Service Team, hence, they wouldn't have been addressed during your correspondence with Customer Service. In a further discussion I had with Customer service the photos you have sent to them were not satisfactory (i.e. they did not clearly show the 2cm indentation), meaning they needed to request more in order to submit a claim. In order to rectify this situation and expedite your claim, we are happy to send out a representative to you. This will guarantee that the correct photos are taken and we can submit a claim as soon as possible, please contact our customer service team at your earliest convenience, they will book a consultation and a representative will visit you to take photos and survey your mattress. Our customer service team are the best people to talk to as they are engaging with our customers on a day to day basis, in many cases providing on-the-spot solutions, otherwise, they will provide a direct and personalised solution, in the majority of cases, reviewing the claim from start to finish. To address the other issues you've raised; ~ You're exactly right, the mattress does have a distinct smell when it is first delivered, this is due to the mattress being fresh from the factory. To give an example, this is the same as a new car smell, while distinct, it dissipates after a short period. This may differ from mattress to mattress, it seems your experience was rather extreme as I didn't have this smell fill the room when I received my personal mattress, in my experience, it was completely gone after 1-2 Days. ~ In regards to your mattress feeling too hard, this is also due to the mattress being new and straight out of the factory. Due to the makeup of the mattress, it takes time for the Visco-Elastic cells to open up completely, thus making the mattress as soft as the trial model in the showroom. To expedite this process, kneeling over the mattress will open up these cells a lot faster and make it feel a lot softer and like the mattress you tried in the showroom. This is like any new product, it can take some time to wear in and feel like the item you tried in the store, a new pair of shoes, for example, may take a few weeks to completely 'wear in'. Hope this has helped. Kind regards, - LCYour product should never sag. Not even 1cm.
As I said the smell lasted a month, not 1 -2 days. You really need to be honest with your customers. That is why we are so disappointed, because we are n... Read more

Tempur Sensation 21 is a big disappointment! Cold, too firm and lumpy middle.
After experiencing sleeping on this Queen medium for nearly a year and a half my husband and I are truly disappointed with the comfort, support and warmth of this mattress. We live in Northern NSW where cold nights aren't a problem, but during winter we find it the mattress is too hard and cold to get comfortable and there is a very firm lump in the middle which would require an effort for one of us to roll onto to settle it down to get any sleep on. Consequently we both now sleep in our own 'dips' on each side of the bed, rolling over is an ef...Read more
fort and readjusting our sides means we are tending to sleep always away from the middle, which remains cold and hard. We also find our symphony and ombracio pillows hard and cold in winter (and we live in a warmer part of Australia!) This mattress was recommended to us over a firm (thank goodness), I mentioned my husband has back problems but now even I am finding I am waking with sore joints after a restless night trying to find a comfortable position to sleep! We use the Tempur protector and follow Tempurs instrucions on care. Previously to this we have had a lovely latex bed for over ten years which was by far superior to live, but we went for Tempur this time because of the lighter weight but so disappointed :(2 comments

We are disappointed that you feel this way about your mattress. We genuinely believe that our mattresses are the best in the world.

~ Is your bedroom warm or cold at night? ~ Are you putting a thick mattress protector or another topper on your mattress? ~ Have you contacted the store of purchase regarding your issue? ~ Have you contacted TEMPUR's customer support team in regards to your issue? I personally sleep on a very similar model to yours and live in Melbourne, so safe to say we're often a little colder than you guys are. Even though this is the case, I certainly don't have the issues you're experiencing, so there must be a reason for our distinct difference in sleep quality. To give a little more info in regards to TEMPUR, the visco-elastic material which makes up your mattress, responds to both heat and weight. Hence why you're able to sink into the mattress, both your body's heat and weight impact on how the mattress conforms to your body. Due to this TEMPUR also responds to the temperature in the environment, i.e. that of your bedroom, therefore, if the room is too cold or too warm, the feel of the mattress will alter slightly, this in no way impacts the amount of support, however, there may be a slight difference in feel. For a couple of quick fixes until I hear back from you, try kneeling on your mattress, this will make sure the visco-elastic cells are open and feeling more like the mattress you tried in the retail store, also, make sure your bedroom is set to a temperature around 22-23 degrees, at this temp, the TEMPUR material is performing at its best and feeling comfortable as well as providing the perfect amount of support to align the body and ensure a great nights sleep. Hope this helps. - LCHow does one keep the bedroom ‘set ‘ at a certain temperature, this is laughable! urchased with the mattress as Northern NSW is humid in Summer. This Winter the mattress once again had a hard rise in the middle as explained earlier and I don’t see why we need to kneel on mattress every night to flatten it! Not good enough, false advertising and unhelpful advice. Why should I have to go through all the hassle of explaining this to sales people when I live out of a Regional area, why should I have to measure the height differences and then have people argue the point! These are simply not suitable for North Coast climates and we do not ever get extremes of highs and lows! very unsatisfactory and costly product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best mattress ever
Been through a few mattresses down the years, but this is really something else.
Pleasantly firm, recovers very quickly to changes in position.
At first we wondered about comfort as they don't recommend electric blankets, but in the course of last winter we found we didn't need it anyway.
It is really the most comfortable mattress we have ever had!

Reading through your points regarding our warranty claims process, this is correct. As with every mattress on the market, there is a minimum depth before a warranty claim can be filed, of which, TEMPUR's is among the best in the industry at 20mm. For reference, the average across all mattress manufacturers is around 50-70mm before a warranty claim will even be discussed. In this case, and by the photo you have submitted with your review, your mattress doesn't reach 20mm, even with the tape measure pushing into the mattress surface itself. I'm sorry I couldn't have been of more help. If you have any further questions, please call our customer service team on 1300 306 062 or email [email protected]. - LC
