Great value and the claim process was relatively straightforward
We have purchased the Top policy for our honeymoon and all was well until I broke my elbow after an accident! I ended up having to undergo emergency operation overseas due to location of the fracture.
The initial contact with Tick Insurance's customer service centre was a bit tiring as we were asked with same questions and had to submit similar attachments and invoices repeatedly over several weeks.

Didn't need to use it

Awful do not purchase!
Do not purchase with TICK. Seemed like reasonably priced cover for top tier travel insurance, however after months of waiting, when it came to claim despite having the highest level of cover, they did not cover for travel delays, missed accommodation, lost property or severe weather. What do they actually cover for!! I was lucky that I was only out of pocket a few hundred dollars, imagine if there was a severe emergency costing thousands and they deny your claim? Avoid. Avoid. Avoid!

The policy was set up easily on line, with simple options and exceptionally good value, with a simple Q&A section for pre existing illnesses. Very happy with the policies we have taken out.

Unable to make contact while overseas for travel delays and lost luggage
My husband and I travelled to the USA September 2022 to Orlando Florida, our flight from Los Angeles to Orlando had been cancelled due to the closure of the Orlando airport, we were offered alternative flights later that day, we checked our luggage in and walked around the airport as our flight wasn’t until much later in the day.On return to the gate, I realised that our flights for that night had also been cancelled.We approached the staff at United regards our luggage as we would be unable to get another flight until the next day.

Great insurance and great rate
Policy was easy and medical certificate also simple. I answered some simple questions and there was only a small increase in the premium. I have two heart stents four years ago and other companies have a problem insuring me without a huge premium increase

You life is in their hands they say!
Their jingle rings comfort in ones ear but you try to hassle them for peace of mind with their assurance you'll be looked after and all I've seen most of is "Your request has been received and is being reviewed by our Claim staff.To add additional comments, reply to this email!" Can you imagine Id be dead now if my life were in your hands waiting to hear back for a promised phone call.
It shouldn't be that difficult to provide the courtesy to your customer other than an automated reply to confirm of an update.
Buyers beware that if you love waiting in long queues then come on over join myself and Im sure many others who are still waiting on death row for an update.

Hidden policies that will scam you!
I bought this insurance with my flights. After a month I found out I am pregnant and my Dr asked me not to travel as I have a history of critical pregnancy. My condition can harm my unborn.
I had few more holidays booked in 2020. I got all my refunds except TICK who refused to pay me anything for cancelling my flights. They told me my condition were s not in their list as a critical pregnancy condition.
I never felt that scammed before.

Definitely reuse again.
Have used them a number of times and everything has gone smoothly. The policy covers exactly what I need for an overseas trip. The site was easy to navigate and easy to use, only down fall was entering your DOB. you have to scroll back each decade month by month to get to your date of birth is a pain in the a***e. Scrolling through 58 years is not fun. Drop down boxes would be preferred.

Great value and found it quite simple to apply. First time user.
I did find I needed to lodge a small claim as a result of me having to visit an overseas clinic. Process was quite easy to use and settlement of claim exceeded my expectation.

The best deal we found
This is the second time I have used Tick
Easy to set up and covers all bases at reasonable cost.

Worst Customer Service. ZERO STARS.
Put in a claim to be reimbursed after needing to purchase urgent after contracting an illness in Cambodia. Once I submitted the evidence I received no reply - not even a digital acknowledgment. After reading these reviews I put a complaint in their official line (there's no phone number to call and actually speak to someone). Got a reply saying that I never replied - was able to provide screenshots of my multiple attempts to make contact. Since these were sent I got no reply - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I will be going to the ombudsman.

Good to Go
First time user not travelling until May to South Africa. Very easy to navigate and understand, excellent price, however; the real test will be in the event of a claim which I hope I don't have to use.
So will have to wait until the trip is over in June.

More than happy with your service
I first found your service on compare the market and found that yours was the best available for what my family required. Unfortunately I have had to make some claims over the years and I have always found service to be above and beyond and very fast. I have not changed my insurance to any one else since finding yours and we travel very regularly

I have an email which requested information to be sent to you re our cancellation of our trip 1st May-31st May. As our doctor told us, that at our age it would be dangerous to our health to travel because of the virus, and the fact that we had cancelled before it was made a pandemic, and our policy was taken out last September, should we register the mail with all of the documents required, or do the transaction via email? We understand the excess per person is $200.00. My original enquiry was 5th march 2020 to Customer Support [Assistance].

Hi Nev, if you purchased your policy before 4:00pm on 31st January, and your policy included cancellation cover, then you are eligible to claim for cancelling your trip, although it sounds like perhaps you are rescheduling instead of cancelling. Therefore, I cannot advise on the outcome of your claim, and I would recommend you lodge a claim. The below link includes all of the information you will need to lodge online, via email or via post, along with a list of documents that need to be included along with your claim.

In addition, it was deemed a known event by this point, meaning it would be expected the policy was entered into with awareness of the virus and its developments. I purchased this cover in October 2022 for a trip in May. We are postponing this trip due to COVID. My cover does include COVID-19 events. I will be taking this trip - to exactly the same destinations and exactly the same travel duration - but a simple transfer of dates will need to apply. I have emailed customer service weeks ago however as yet to receive a response. There is nothing mentioned in my T&C's to indicate that a date change cannot apply. In fact - I'm sure a lot of policies have date changes applicable seeing as people purchase travel insurance before travel dates become firm. This request is being made before the commencement of my trip. Please advise on this and how a travel date change can be applied.

Hi Cath,
I think if you go into your booking, it should allow you to change the dates, if not, just get in contact with the actual place you are booked into and see if they will allow a credit to be held for you.
And they would probably be able to change your dates also. If its non-refundable you may have just lost your money, Good luck.
