Another Great Westinghouse Fridge
My second westinghouse fridge my first one lasted over 20 years, decided to get a new one as we need a larger one and after getting a new kitchen I wanted a stainless steel one. Very quiet fridge, keeping the stainless steel door clean is hard work my lot open the door by the handle but close it by putting their hands on the door.
March 17th 2017 Update: Another Great Westinghouse Fridge
This is my second Westinghouse Fridge/freezer the last one lasted over 20 years, it was still working when I purchased this one, I just wanted a bigger fridge. Very Quiet, sometimes it is so quiet that don't know that is it running. Lights in the fridge are great . The delivery guys set up for me and I haven't needed to adjust the temperature.

The Good and Bad but mostly Bad
This is one noisy fridge we can hear it all over house! It replaced a 15 year old Westinghouse and I was surprised at the difference in this fridge, it just should be so much better in every way but of course its now manufactured in Thailand, what a shame. The lady at Good Guys told me she drove the Orange to make sure she bought a fridge regardless of needing it before the factory was closed.
The bad is noisy, not enough options for shelf positions, minimal temperature difference options, the door doesn't close by itself, door is hard to op...Read more
en after immediately closing, no meat keeper, no chill zone, crisper too small and wonky when opening. Small A5 size user manual with terribly small print and multiple models displayed making it difficult hard to read. All of these negatives were all positives in the previous Westinghouse fridge. Ice cube tray I found an interesting design, doesn't really work but sometimes it kinda works a bit. Ripped the cover off the lockable compartment useless for us, should be an option. Wow why did I buy this fridge?? The good is that it looks good and is easy to clean and its a bottom mount that I really like after having a top mount. I like the nice long handles on both fridge and freezer. After adjustments the temperature is now right for us. Really miss the chill zone for cold drinks. I was annoyed when comparing to find the difference between the 5300 and 5314 was nothing but cosmetic for different retailers to make it appear that they are selling different models I guess. Also advertised as containing a 185L freezer sounded nice and big but actually is only a 145L freezer. Purchased from The Good Guys, included delivery and installation and take away the old fridge. Installation consisted of, take off the outside packaging, put it in the space, attach the handles and start it up. After reading user manual we had to make adjustments to the level of the fridge and remove all the styrofoam packaging that was still left in the fridge. Good Guys wanted to charge $69 for this service. I have sort of gotten use to all the noises it makes but in conclusion I will say seeya Westinghouse!Similar opinion? Beautiful Fridge
Beautiful fridge purchased from Harvey Norman very quiet and spacious. Looks very sturdy. Just wish the ice cube tray was a bit bigger and there's no meat tray. Bought on boxing day sale the fridge wasn't discounted so I had to haggle price from $1588 down to $1400 plus a $150 cash back from Westinghouse. Then $50 for delivery which brings price to $1300 incl delivery. Really annoyed me when I saw the price the following week at the good guys for $1250 plus get a $100 pay less card grrrr.

Good size fridge
I bought this fridge for its bigger capacity after having a smaller Westinghouse for 10 years. Capacity-wise it is great with adjustable shelving, and three good sized freezer drawers. I find the vegetable crisper a bit small and the drawer doesn't always slide out easily. There is no meat drawer which is a bit of a pain.
The fridge appears to keep food fresh and maintains its temperature.

ed on the spot. The person I dealt with from Electrolux was a great help and actioned my email quickly after I posted a negative review here. I'm so relieved the fridge has been fixed and is now operating quietly.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Westinghouse are not what they used to be
Purchased this model 5 weeks ago, having had owned 2 Westinghouse fridges before, I was confident in my purchase.
The truth however is that this fridge is incredibly noisy. Another issue is that the doors do not 'self close' even with the fridge inclined to the correct position.
Westinghouse customers service is non-existant, with two emails to the customer care division unanswered.
Given the similar reviews on here, perhaps Westinghouse is a brand best avoided.

Problem problem problem!!!
Model WBE5314SA. My new fridge which I only bought brand new 7 months ago has had the cooling stop working. Repair guy came to fix it twice under warranty, although he was unable to identify what the problem was. After these visits he was going to come back a third time but instead I demanded a replacement fridge through the Electrolux customer liaison team yesterday. Broken fridge was replaced today with another brand new one of the exact model. This fridge has been plugged in for 11 hours and is still not cold at all!!!! Looks like the same p...Read more
roblem has happened with this brand new fridge before I even got to use it. Actually feel like I'm in a nightmare! Extremely angry right now. And now that I've read other reviews about it, I would advise people to stay away from this model.1 comment

Too noisy
Have had this fridge for two weeks after replacing our old fridge when renovating our kitchen. The configuration works well for our needs but we are bothered by the noise. The compressor makes a pulsating/whooshing sound whenever it is running. Way to loud for a new modern fridge. Penetrates our whole kitchen/meals/living area. Relentless. Unfortunately you don't get to hear a fridge running when in the showroom. Maybe new fridges should be issued a decibel rating!! Will take up with the manufacturer but am concerned about whether they will do ...Read more
anything about it. Would not have purchased one of these fridges if I knew what it would sound like. PS: To their credit, Electrolux (parent company) sent a technician out to have a look at the fridge. He said that he could understand our concern but the sound level was within the acceptable range. I believe the pulsating sound is the worst aspect - but we will have to learn to live with it.1 comment
We have now had this fridge for two years. The compressor noise has abated to within tolerable levels. Love the fridge in all other regards. Would now give it a much higher rating than originally.

Except for the crisper, and lack of wine rack, though early days very good otherwise
The crisper drawer is useless, jams, falls out easily and then awkward to replace, an absolute pain - perhaps the drawer is too narrow or rails too wide.
Have sent complaint to W'House reply will be interesting.
Otherwise it quiet, roomy well designed, the freezer compartment works well especially the drawers and rails.
The SS model comes with a wine rack ($30 otherwise).

Hi there, my Westinghouse WBE5314SA handles have fallen off and apart from the handle inserts all breaking and not being able to get replacements, a couple of the little black lugs which are attached to the inside of the fridge doors have snapped. I’ve been told to replace handles which will cost approx $180 even though the only thing wrong with handles is the broken inserts but you can’t replace the broken black lugs without having to purchase new doors.! I’m livid. Other fridge makers sell the door handle inserts but none would fit our handles. Very upsetting. Thought of trying to remove door skin and put a screw and washer on the inside of door but not sure how door skin is attached, whether attached with screws or glued. Worried about cracking door skin if glued. Also the fridge cyclic defrost isn’t working and I’ve been told needs a new logic board, fridge coilsare freezing up and defrost timer not working.

Hi all,
We have a Westinghouse fridge freezer Model WABE5314SA.
Just of late it has started to beep even when all the doors are closed, just
wondering if anyone may know as to what the cause of this beeping may be?
Many thanks,
Andy

How do I remove freezer drawers. Details not clear enough in manual

Open the door fully. Lift the drawer by initially supporting and lifting up from the front corners with your hands underneath, then, holding the drawer by its sides at the top, simply lift up. The runners can be easily seen as extending ones. Pull them carefully in and out to see how they work: this should help with understanding how to remove and replace.
When replacing make sure the runners are fully out, and set the drawer down over the runners with the front end of the runners positioned as close to the front of the drawer as possible. Gently let the drawer settle onto the runners and press gently; there should be a slight click as they settle into place. Don't be heavy-handed with any pressing down. It's actually quite quick and easy once you're used to it.
Thanks for the info will try again don’t like to use any force but the runners are still very stiff.

Update: a technician from Westinghouse attended and told me the noise was within expected levels. I would recommend avoiding this model.
