A great affordable option

published

This is a great machine that is compatible with not only the expressi branded pods but also other brands. It is an affordable option that is very comparable to the more expensive versions. It has a very smooth taste and many different strengths to suit all tastes.
The machine is easy to clean with removable and detachable parts. The expressi branded cleaner works perfectly with the machine

Fantastic for the price

published

This is my second one in 7 years, the first one worked well until i dropped it, so not its fault. Pods are .37c each and i use two for a coffee. I think it only takes Aldi pods but they compare favourably with more expensive brands. There's a lot of different strengths available including hot chocolate and caffeine free.

Second machine and love it still!

published

I've had an Aldi coffee machine for 6 years now having brought one over from Brisbane to Perth. I got many good years out of my original machine so it was a no-brainer to buy one again when it eventually died. The coffee is great, pods are cheap and come in a good variety of tastes and strengths and the cleaning system is simple. I could not recommend this highly enough and think its incredible value for money

Love my coffee

published

I love a cappachino so my family brought a machine for me to make cappachino's for everyone that came over. I now have the handy machine from Aldi as it is so easy to use. Can't go by without having a coffee from my machine & should anything go wrong, I take it back to Aldi with the docket & they replace it!

Good but Not Excellent

published

The new machine is not as good as the old one. Pods on occasion do not work and coffee stops. Have to eject and reinsert in machine. Lots of excess water and coffee in pod drop container. This did hot happen with old machine. Aldi need to fix these problems with the new machines as they look great but do not work all the time.

Pods not 100% compatible with newest model ?

published

I'm an Aldi fan and used the Express's since they came out.

When I purchased the newest model, I have some problem with it
when I insert the pods, it doesn't drip in the cup but instead in the pod's containers sometimes.
After getting the warrenty exchange and this problem reoccurring, i decided to do another switch in the store.

No prevail, it seems the pods are not completely sealed off when inserting and coffee drips back into the pod's container instead of the cup.

Nowhere as good as old model

published

Don't get me wrong, It still does a great job of making coffee, but the water tank is a lot smaller, and its hard to throw the pods away without also putting a lot of liquid into the bin. I have both an old model (2011, 5 stars by the way, and still works) and bought this new model for my travels with work. I hope Aldi read this, as the previous model is far superior.

Great product

published

We love our machine and does the job nicely. The coffee tastes great, really nice crema and lots and lots of intensity and flavours to choose from. They don't have the longest life as we have bought two in the last three years but for the price you can buy six for the price of a Nespresso which I believe is just a waste of money and all your paying for is the brand.

Couldn't live without Aldi or my coffee machine

published

I am so in love with my Expressi coffee machine, it makes delicious coffee with a huge range of pods including multiple hot chocolate flavours - perfect for this Melbourne winter!

I love the baby blue colour of my machine and it has saved me at least $50 a week on purchased coffees. Long black or a latte, this machine does it beautifully!

Good coffee maker!

published

I'm such a coffee lover and I enjoy the time making my own coffee. So I am quite strict with the taste of the coffee. But this one can definitely satisfy my requirements. It's easy to use and not that hard to clean it. Just need to take out the waste and put a new pill then a good coffee is ready for you.

Great when it works!

published

We returned 3 machines. This is our 4th. It worked like a dream for about 2 months. Now it works well be occasionally Stalls in the process. Whurs and whizes and makes lots of noise.
The part that catches the used capsules also fills with water.

The coffee pods are great. Wondeful range of flavours...would like a mocha option.

Good machine, cheap coffee

published

The Aldi Expressi machine is great value, and a wide range of pod variety to choose from at very reasonable prices. The machine is effective, but does take a while to warm up, particularly with the rinse cycle that it insists on doing when it first warms up.

Every now and then a pod doesn't pour properly, but for the price I can cop that. Overall a good machine worth considering for the price.

Great for the price!

published

This machine works really well but it was a big selling point for me was the long warranty period!
The range of pods are vast and cheap!
I usually do a large cup of a coffee pod and then a small coffee sized one of a caramel or white choc pod for more of a flavoured coffee.
I purchased the de-scaling product too because I intend to use this machine for many years to come.
I haven't had any problems with it at all and it was easy to set up and use.
It's quick and efficient which is all I want first thing in the morning!

Excellent

published

We purchased this for my husband so that we could save money by making coffee at home. We have found it to be very easy to use and clean, my husband likes the variety of pods sold at Aldi also. The only downside is that this machine can be quite noisy however having never tried any other pod machine we have nothing to compare it to.

We got addicted to the taste

published

Beautiful coffee, even the decaf is so good you would never think it is a decaf. Very easy to use and to clean. It is done before an after every use by press of a button. There are also some easy to remove parts of black plastic that need to be washed up when the bucket with used pods is full. Disadvantages: 1.) about 10% of the decaf pods are not OK, the machine can not process them, I think the coffee has been compressed to much when produced. Aldi offered exchange but one is worried about the machine when it is pumping and pumping and working hard and no coffee comes out. 2.) refill of pods is difficult: the foil on top of the pods can not be peeled off and somehow the flow of the hot water is blocked, no coffee comes out.

LOVE IT!

published

Not only do I love our Expressi machine, I choose Expressi coffee over any other pod coffee. It is easy to use and clean and the coffee is great and CHEAP!

This is our second Expressi machine. The original was a 2013 one used multiple times a day in a share house and only died after 4 years.

Infuriating

published

Machine purchased in September 2016, still under warranty, still have receipt. I put up with its faults for months before registering a complaint with k-fee, who sent me suggestions, instructions, etc, etc. Some worked partially. Now I've had enough, and now they won't reply to my emails. Same problems as so many people here have complained about: mainly, coffee going into the spent capsule container rather than the cup. I expect far better service than this especially from a company associated with Aldi, with whom I've never had a problem. The coffee's good, but now I refuse to shop at Aldi on principle. I'll keep pursuing until I get a satisfactory solution.

Questions & Answers

Apr 2016

I was unable to remove the used pod container from my machine for many months, & eventually stopped trying. After about a year of disuse, I mentioned the problem to someone, this afternoon, & showed them how the container is supposed to be removed, so they could have a go, and as I did so, the container just came straight out, no problems! I gather it was because the coffee had become totally dehydrated over time, and so the pods had shrunk back down, so they no longer filled the available space...!

Anyway, I plugged my machine back in, filled up the water container, and tried to run the clean water through the machine. Although the 3 lights came on, then 2 went off (as they’re supposed to) leaving the milk/rinse button’s light on, when I pressed the button, nothing happened. I’ve tried all 3 buttons, and have tried with & without a pod in the machine, but nada! It doesn’t make a sound, either, so the water isn’t even heating up! Any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or how I might be able to get my Expressi machine working again?

Any help would be much appreciated!

How old is the machine ? Honestly from your story you probably need to go out and buy a new machine. Especially if it is not under warranty anymore. I have just bought the latest machine at Aldi and it is fabulous ! A lot quieter than the original one I purchased a few years back.

I suggest buying some descaler, it's not dear. Fill up your reservoir with water and a cap of descaler, the coffee residue builds up, thus blocking the flow. I hope this helps you.

Darcygirl01
Darcygirl01

Thank you so much for your prompt response! It started to work again after it had been turned off for a while, but I suspect it does need descaling as we have never done that up till now (unlike the Caffitaly we used to have that just seized up until you followed the laborious descaler process on a monotonously regulaf basis)!!l Really appreciate your help.
