Excellent value for money
I chose this Robot Vacuum for its price as I wasn't convinced that it would do a worthwhile job no matter what the price but I have been VERY pleasantly surprised. I now use it every day for the last 2 weeks since I got it, and I have not needed to pull our our very large vacuum once despite having a toddler and a very fluffy cat in the apartment.
We have tiles and laminate floors throughout the apartment and this Robot Vacuum has no problem cleaning both of these. We set it to run while we are out so I don't get frustrated watching it zoom an...Read more
d spin around like a lunatic with no order or logic... but whatever it does, it somehow manages to get everything clean. We have a split level apartment so I put it on different floors on alternate days to keep everything clean. It has no problem avoiding the stairs. You do need to clear the floor to get the best clean. But then I would always do that with a broom or vacuum anyway. The robot vacuum does have a tendency to get stuck on thin power cords on the floor (it doesn't have an issue with the thicker extension cords), our chrome sleigh chair legs (it happily goes in and out of our normal chairs) and it does sometimes get stuck under our ensemble bed that is on castors. But these are all totally understandable, I just put the chairs on top of the table and I will get some normal legs that are a little taller for our bed. Now that I don't need to move the bed to clean under it, I don't need the castors anyway!

Fabulous! Love it!
My Stirling robot was purchased 8 months ago for $179 with a 3yr warranty and several spare bits. I have a few rugs on both hardwood and tiled floor and the robot deals with all of the above brilliantly. Like all robot cleaners, it covers the chosen area following some sort of chaos-theory, which is confusing and amusing to watch, but somehow works well. At this point, I named the robot "Leroy". I have not used my normal vacuum (a Miele) on my floors for months. Due to its shallow height, Leroy is very effective at reaching under furniture. 2 d...Read more
ownsides: Leroy is defeated by pedestal-based barstools, he tries to climb them & gets stuck. The dust-holder needs frequent emptying and hair is the enemy as it winds tightly around the rollers. Easily dealt with, but must be done regularly. Oh and a fabulous and unexpected side-benefit: I am in the spring of my old age, so vacuuming had become a back-aching chore. Hello Leroy, goodbye backache! In short, I would recommend this item without hesitation.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fabulous product, fabulous price!
Bought our Sterling Robot Vacuum from Aldi over a year ago for $179 and we absolutely LOVE it!
We use it on our tiled floor in the kitchen and dining area which gets the dirtiest. Just turn it on when we go to bed at night and wake up to clean floors. Just remember to always make sure the area is clear of obstacles or items it could get stuck on.
Had a minor issue early on, customer service was excellent. Repair people looked at it and quickly fixed the issue. Didn't cost anything. Has been perfect ever since!

Solid performer
I agree with the reviewer above here - this robot vacuum, while not terribly smart but more random in its operation, is fantastic. I have hard floors, single level, with about 20% rugs (short pile). While it does get stuck ocassionally with tricky furniture legs, the thing is like anything, it's not meant to perform like a Dyson, but rather dramatically reduce the amount of dust and hair around the hard floors if you use the robot regularly. What this means is you do have to try and clear the floor of much things as possible, such as kids toys ...Read more
(I just leave them on the sofa, and operate the robot when we're out do a few hours). It's quite reliable in its operation - it generally returns to its charging station with no issues. The suction power is not great but it doesn't need to be - the fact that I empty out a full compartment of dust/dirt tells me it does a decent job. I paid something like $160 at Aldi for this - compared to the equivalent Kogan robot vacuum (I like Kogan products in general) which was hopeless (confused electronics and a scratch monster!), this has been fantastic. No it isn't as smart as my friend's LG robot vac, but that's $600 plus so it should be good. If you find this vac at Aldi again, go for it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Better than Expected
I purchased Aldi’s Robot Vacuum at half of its original price of $180. I was one of a lucky seven shoppers to get it at this clearance price so while I only paid $90 I am basing my review on if I’d paid the full price. Well I took a chance and was sure it was a bit of a gimmick but it does better than I expected.
The pro’s – If you run it every day your floors will stay noticeably cleaner. It actually picks up pet hair, dust, dirt and crumbs. Not just sweep them aside like I have heard some models do. The suction is not bad from its little ...Read more
motor. I have a fire place and use to have to sweep daily from the dust and ash but it picks it all up with no problems. It usually finds its way home when it is in need of a re-charge. It will usually cover 20 squares of my home in 2 to 2 and a half hours of operation. I should mention my house is fairly open plan with no stairs and only a third of that is carpet. So I think it does pretty well. Another Pro for me at least is that because I run this thing every day. I run around the house picking things up and cleaning up more after myself and the family so it won’t get stuck. This makes my weekly dusting and cleaning day go much faster and keeps me and the family a little more tidy. For the Cons – It gets stuck on sunlight. It does bang about on furniture a bit but it has not damage the furniture. It can make it annoying if you are trying to concentrate or watch telly. It’s not the most intelligent of robots. It is a bit random in its operation and is lacking the intelligence to know exactly where it has been but given the price I wasn't expecting it to be. It gets stuck on a lip sometimes where the carpet meets the floorboards. And it occasionally will get stuck on the floor mat as it lifts up the corners while turning. Most of the time it gets itself unstuck. My long hair gets stuck in the rollers which is a bit annoying. You need to put power cords away or it will try to swallow them up. So like I said it was better than expected. I have owned this and ran it nearly every day for the last four to five months. It does need to be emptied and maintained to keep up its efficiency. Depending on how quickly the dustbin fills up you'll need to empty the dust bin regularly. Because of my hair I also need to pull out the rollers and clean up the long hair from them. It also does well if you can use an air compressor to blow out the rollers from the dust and in the unit about once a month. WARNING: if you do use an air compressor on it, you need to make sure you don’t let the little suction motor spins. (This is a little unit that un=clips from the dust bin.) You can damage it if it spins in the wrong direction or if it spins too quickly. I just stick my finger in the wheel while I am blowing it out.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
