The Australia Post multi had no insolvency cover . beware Claim suited to Cover more . Excess $250 instead of $100.
Yes at first it was easy. Deceptive. Claim sent to Cover more . No info to me. Double excess . Paid half claim.cannot contact them. I have gone to the Ombudsman now.

Great Service - A Complete Surprise
I have traveled many times over past years and have used Austtralia Post Travel Insurance, always with some concern, as I had read many of the Reviews. However Australia Post was always much cheaper and would offer cover for pre-existing illnesses at a small excess. This was the first time that I have had to claim. I was impressed at the prompt response, the clear instructions, the time lines given, which were always adhered to. At no time did I feel left out of my claim process. The claim was approved, and the refund deposited exactly on ...Read more
the date indicated. I will certainly be using Australia Post Travel Insurance on any other overseas trips. I was always aware that Australia Post was not the travel Insurance Provider and that the Policy was underwritten by one of the larger Insurance Providers. It is clearly stated in the PDS and in their corresondence.

Misrepresentation australia post are not a travel insurance company
I purchased this insurance from auspost travel insurance because of their reputation little did I know I would be shunted of to a company like 'covermore".
I gave my medical details to someone purporting to be from auspost I paid my money to someone purporting to be from auspost but when I had a claim where were auspost nowhere to be seen I was to my shock and horror dealing with covermore. A Company in the news for all the wrong reasons and I would suggest struggling for business having to trap customers under the auspost banner
Never again with aus post for anything and absolutely never covermore.
So beware just make sure who you are dealing with

Good value, prompt refund
I have used this insurance many times when travelling. It is good value. For the first time, I had to make a small claim (medical). Process for refund was quick and simple (all online). Refunded with no problems shortly after. Would recommend.

We had to cancel an interstate trip due to illness. The only delay was due to me not submitting the medical certificate correctly. Once Australia Post received it we had no problems. Thanks for the swift refund.

Insurance where you get what you paid for.
Excellent product. We've used Aust. Post travel insurance for a number of years but this is the first time we've made a claim - two, in fact, one a minor medical claim and the other for a replacement suitcase after the existing one was irreparably damaged by baggage handlers. The claims process was straight forward and both claims accepted and finalised within ten days. In an age where insurance claims are contested more often than not, this was a very pleasant surprise. We highly recommend Aust. Post travel insurance.

Never Again - you will need to take out insurance to protect you from their nsurance policy.
Decided to try Post Office Insurance. Usually use Covermore. Our trip to Sri Lanka was cancelled by Trip A Deal who credited our trip along with the cost of the Visas. This was after the Aust. Government issued a level 5, dont travel to Sri Lankawarning. However Post Office Insurance refused to credit of deter our Travel insurance because we had passed our cooling off period. We didn't travel as a result of having the trip cancelled, if we did travel and were injured as a result of the civil unrest, according to the contract, we would not have been covered. Also, try ringing their contact number. Good luck with the excessive wait.
Would never consider using again.

Still waiting
Submitted a claim on April 1 as my former partner and father to my children died suddenly. We had a house to empty, a funeral to arrange and grief to deal with so did not take our trip. Despite my former partner not being on my policy or part of my trip, his death has sparked an investigation into his medical history and AusPost want full access to his medical records. I don't understand how this is relevant. I went with AusPost as the price was good and I worked for them at the time. I would not recommend them as Travel Insurers.

If anyone has trouble with the claim procedure it's probably because they haven't provided the correct information.
I've used travel insurance for years and never made any claims. I've used this one twice and, unfortunately, needed to make a claim. It was dealt with very quickly and politely. Well done.

Took a lot of effort on my behalf to get it approved
Whilst in the USA I took sick and was advised to go to hospital. The next night I had a medical procedure. Immediately my wife in Australia was informed who contacted the insurance. I tried o ring the USA contact number but it wasn’t connected. My wife had to ring the 1800 number and wait to be connected each time to a consultant sometimes a very long time. She had to ring me to keep me informed. Rang about 23 times during the week.
By day 3 the hospital was enquiring about my insurance. Had to make a deposit of over US$2500.

rn there was no contact from the insurance. From the moment I lodged a claim I was told that my answers to their questions would be made in 10 business days. Sure enough every question or email was answered on day 10. I was asked to supply doctors notes from specialists I had never visited. Even the initial claim form assumed that it was a pre existing condition. Didn’t once ask if it was unrelated to prev. Illness or pre existing. The USA hospital provided me with about 40 pages of notes as to illness and treatment. This mentioned it was not pre existing. All supplied to the insurance. After a further 2 doctors visits to get relevant documentation (one an extended consultation) and over 3 months later, my claim was approved again after the 10 day wait. I am still waiting for my hospital deposit to be returned nearly five months after paying it.2 comments

Excellent Travel Insurance
I had a claim for hospital and accommodation expenses whilst on holidays in Vietnam. Had to extend my stay for a further 12 days. I found them very professional and supportive, to my wife and myself. My claim was approved and paid within the 10 days with no hassles.
Great value, and will definitely be using them again in the future, and recommending them to my friends.

Prompt Settlement of Claim
My wife and I are in our late seventies and like so many people I take blood thinning medication. Australia Post is one of the few Travel Insurers that will cover me. We took out Travel Insurance for a 10 day cruise to New Zealand and connecting flights. The policy was easy to set up over the phone. As a result of an accident requiring hospitalisation, we were forced to cancel a short time before sailing. We submitted our claim with relevant documentation and received notice of settlement within a very short time with a very satisfactory a...Read more

Poor response when claims are submitted
I spent over $300 on my 15 days travel insurance that appeared to be the best coverage in the world. But when I submitted a tiny claim, there was no response. I followed up 3 times in the next 45 days and finally got a response that due to excess clause my claim wasn't covered. Excess clause is totally acceptable (which I missed out while reading the policy), but should we pay money to someone with that attitude? What if I had major health issues during my travel, would they wait for me to die?
What really annoyed me was that I bought the insu...Read more
rance from Australia Post. But I had to do all the follow up with a redirected "Travel Insurance Partners" that could be an overseas company run by a 'Nigerian prince'. I feel for the people who are not responsible for any of these but have to reply to these sort of complains. And to those people, don't care about me. I will never buy any policy from Australia Post ever again.1 comment

No fussed claims.
Lost my prescription lens along the waves of Bali, I filed for a police report and attached my purchased receipts on the items. I've read the PDS first before initiating any claims, that way we wouldn't be disappointed if our claim isn't validated.

Questions & Answers
Shellasked
We were due to fly out on 14th April and I have made numerous attempts to contact someone to cancel our policy as there are travel bans restricting our plans. I have been unable to speak to anyone, despite holding for hours on several occasions, and I have sent several emails. On Easter Sunday I had a call from Travel insurance partners who told me if I cancelled I would lose almost $80 as I was out of my change of mind period. I stressed the fact that the government had banned all travel, I didn’t change my mind, so I was told I could change the dates but I would have to pay more. I gave a few dates to get an indication of how much and it was almost double my original policy cost. I then said when will it not have extra charges, and was told even a policy for one day would be $25 for the day, and it would continue to increase with each day added. This is for a policy that I have already bought!! Seriously?? I then was told that she could make a special request for a full refund but she didn’t have high hopes and she wouldn’t be able to get back to me with a response until Easter Tuesday, two days after the phone call. I asked her to do that. I haven’t heard back, I have phoned several times,I have emailed several times, to a couple of different emails, and am now very angry about the whole situation. It’s disgusting that you aren’t prepared to give a refund, but to just ignore phone calls and emails while you sit on my money for doing nothing is unethical and appalling. I bought my policy and paid for it online, you have done absolutely nothing and have no right to keep my money.
I have used your insurance for many years but unless I get a full refund in the next couple of days I will be making sure that I will be telling everyone how you have neglected your duty of care to your customers.please contact me urgently.
