Hi Adrian here.
I have installed a slimline 170ah battery and tray behind back seat in my 2017 ranger.
Everything is in as per video on website.
Looks perfect to the installed one.
Went to shut the seat back and it hits on the battery.
Please let me know any resolution…?

Hi Adrian, does your 2017 Ranger have an arm rest in the middle seat? This can cause issues with the back seat closing. If it has no arm rest it usually just takes a very solid slam to shut the seat back.

Hello.
Just wondering if there is a certain spot to attach the temperature sensor from the dc-dc charger on the battery? The earth terminal or does it just have to be close to the battery unit?

The Enerdrive DC2DC Charge requires the temperature sensor to be connected to the earth side of the battery.

Hi Laurie, the DC-DC will charge the AGM battery in the battery box via the alternator while under load. We recommend not doing this all the time because, it may reduce the life of the battery.

Why does the alternator light on the dcdc charger flash when the car is off??

Hi Craig, the DC-DC charger is waiting to detect a heightened voltage when the vehicle is started. It is essentially an idle mode light, that lets you know the DC-DC is powered but in standby.

Hi Val, I'm not sure I understand the question. Is there an issue with the battery inside your original KickAss Battery Box?

Hi Terry, 100 Amp breaker is too small for the 3000W inverter and will trigger the breaker on start up.

Assuming the box contains a deep cycle battery, how is it linked to the starter battery? How is it wired to the ignition? Do you have a "smart" alternator?

Hi Steve, thank you for reaching out. You will need to hit the setting and the temperature down buttons at the same time for it to turn on. Can I also ask if there are dashes on the right temperature display?

No there is not, but I did notice that the right bin is working but no display for it.

I’ve just installed the kickass battery box with dcdc mppt charger, works fine when I turn the battery box on but when I turn the battery box off a fault comes up for “output fault mode” I’ve checked wiring from starter battery to battery box and battery box to auxiliary battery and all is good, what could the problem be ?

Hi, I got the 20amp mppt controller and display unit for Father’s Day. I have it set on lithium, the highest the display says it charges is 13.2 92% is what it says but when I check with multi meter my battery is 13.4 99% charge. I think there is problems with the controller, when I watch videos I see volts up to 13.9 or higher. Contacting Australian direct is near impossible, why do you guys not just display a phone number.

I have recently purchased a dcdc charger, wiring kit and inverter. I already had your battery box. I am getting no power on my output to auxiliary battery. Had an auto electrician test everything and he confirmed that everything was wired correct, which was easy as it is your plug and play system, and confirmed power from starter battery is correct when car is on or off, and power present from cable with Anderson plug and maxi fuse I purchased from you. When I connect to the charger, no power goes to aux battery. What are the next steps to get this rectified as I’m getting ready for a trip and was hoping that for the money spent I would have a proper working setup

Hi, seems to be a few others here with a similar issue to me. When I turn the car off, the AGM light stays solid and the alternator light flashes every 5 seconds. The manual says this flashing indicates there is between 8-9.7amps detected by the dcdc unit. Not enough for it to commence charging. And that below 8amps and the unit should not display any lights.
However the blue ignition line is tapped to my windshield wipers which show 0.0amps when ignition is off and 11.9 when vehicle is on. My question is, will the dcdc unit damage/drain the battery or alternator if its left with the AGM light on and alternator night flashing every 5 seconds indefinitely? as it's a hassle plugging and unplugging the unit whenever I drive. I left it flashing for 2 days when i first bought it and my battery light on the dash came on and I had to have the alternator replaced, most likely as it was on it's way out. But now I'm wondering if the dcdc unit could be causing damage to the alternator somehow?
Any help greatly appreciated

I have the DC DC charger.
I seem to always have Intermittent issues.
Current issue is. It will charge off the alternator ok. When the vehicle is off the solar panel should kick in. It recognises the panel with the solar light. The charging light starts blinking then the charger goes into bulk charge for about 2 seconds then the bulk light and the charging light go out.
It keeps repeating this.
If I connect the panel into a PWM controller it charges at 14+ Volts, so I am assuming the panel is not at fault.
Any idea.
Thanks
Mark
