Our door won’t open on our washing machine (model #WAS24460AU). It also often takes longer to finish a cycle than the original time shown on display. Are there ways to fix these issues or is it time for a new machine? It’s about 7years old

Hi Hayley,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAS24460AU.
There would be ways to ix those issues but without a service call we would not be able to advise what it might cost and comparing that to the cost of a new appliance would probably determine your course of action.

I currently have a top loader but prior to this one I bought a cheap front loader, I think it was a Whirlpool. It was terrible, the loads took forever to wash and had no quick wash options. I have been doing some research on a new machine as this one is on it's last legs. I have a Bosch Dishwasher and am very happy with it's performance. It's just my husband and me now but when we have family stay, usually 8 adults and 5 grand children, I need to be washing towels, sheets and lots of coloured everyday loads. I think the main reason I feel hesitant to buy another front loader is the time the loads take. My question is....should I buy a front loader or a top loader?

Hi Julie, the Bosch has super quick washes down to 15mins which might help. Front loaders have more position options in a laundry than top loaders too. Spend the money on something decent if you can, it will probably turn out cheaper in the long run

Thank you Rich for your response. It's always good to hear what people have to say when purchasing costly items like a washing machine.

The iDOS light for conditioner continually flashes indicating that the conditioner has run out and needs to be refilled. However, the light permanently flashes even when conditioner has been fully topped up. I regularly give the iDOS system a good clean. This makes no difference to the problem. Conditioner is being dispensed.

Hi,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAW28620AU.
The cycle to use would be dependent on the fabric and amount of soiling. In general the cottons cycle is good for the most part.

Either cottons, which can take the full 9kg worth or automatic which can take 6kg. I don’t use the fabric softener so just put vinegar in the manual dispenser at the start of the cycle. Both settings use higher temperatures if you prefer to use hot water for your towels. Automatic is stuck on 40 degrees whereas you can adjust your temp from 90 with cottons.

Hi Mel,
Thanks for the question regarding the Bosch WAW28460AU.
Our cycles are reliant on sensors and are generally not that short. The energy and water star rating is due to our cottons 60 degree wash with the Eco Perfect setting but this takes approximately 4.5 hours. If you have a look at our website, https://www.bosch-home.com.au/productlist/washers-dryers/washing-machines/front-load-washing-machines/WAW28460AU#/Tabs=tab-3185783/Togglebox=-1890280669/, you can download the user manual and have a look at page 34 for the standard cycle durations.

Hi David,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAW28460AU.
None of our appliances have the option to cancel the rinse cycle. The rinse hold only ever stops the cycle in the middle of the final rinse and does not cancel it.

They barely use any soap. Even selecting 3 bars. I used to use way too much detergent in my old one. Bosch uses less water so you need less soap. Are there no suds during the wash cycle?

Troy H.

Hi Kaz
Thanks for your reply it has a few bubbles not sudsy and your right about next to no water. Going to swap from cold power liquid to dynamo liquid as I have seen a few blogs about that being the better soap for the machine.

Please check the filter pump is cleared at the bottom right of the washing machine and try the reset function below:
Make sure the appliance is switched off at the mains.
Turn the power point on.
Turn the dial to the first right
Press each of the buttons e.g. rinse plus, spin speed etc, working from right to left.
Turn the dial around to a program.
Power should return to the appliance and try starting a program.

My tenants reported that my washing machine door handle broke off 4 mths after my 5 yr extended product warranty I purchased from Harvey Norman expired. My property manager obtained a quote for $300 plus and I found that there were no genuine spare parts available. So I contacted Bosch directly. Service was prompt and service call, the reconditioned replacement part and labour totalled less than $200 with a 3 mth warranty. I sugg u call Bosch directly - they should be the one making the diagnosis and treatment. If they misdiagnose or provide inadequate treatment, maybe they may offer u a trade in at a reduced price
