BRITEX, a good product at a good price.
Hiring a Britex. This machine can do a great job if you know HOW to USE it. I am a full time carpet cleaner but did at one time work as a rep for them. So have heard and seen all complaints.Look up on the internet how to clean a carpet by pros. Its like hiring a car you have to get the feel of it, all cars are different. So stop knocking Britex, hire more often, a tip, DO NOT OVER WET YOUR CARPET / LOUNGE if you don't thinkits clean, let it dry before doing it again.

Sceptical, but will now be a regular user
I was sceptical at first thinking the little Britex machine wouldn’t be as good as the 'professionals' huge van-mounted machine, but after paying a 'professional' over $30 each to clean my lounge chairs that when dry still looked dirty, and $30/room for carpet 'cleaning' I suspected my carpets would be much the same standard. So this time I hired a Britex machine from Bunnings Noarlunga SA, after thoroughly watching the 'How to' tutorials on the Internet.
Sure it requires more effort than having someone do it for you but the end result is CLE...Read more
AN fresh smelling carpets and lounge chairs for about HALF what the 'professional' charged PLUS the satisfaction you are not getting ripped off. Purchasing the minimum inexpensive defoamer, spot remover and cleaner I have some left over for next time

loved it!
Used it on a rental to get bond back after schoolies. Really gross since people had vomitted and everything. I didn't have high hopes of the place looking very good but after going over everything bad about 2-3 times it came out like new. I was really impressed. Didn't have any of the leaking issues mentioned here. Hope I don't in future.

I thought i would give this product a go, hired it from Bunnings in Hoppers Crossing and was really happy with the result. It was extremely easy to use, not as heavy to get in and out of my car and all the pieces worked just fine. I originally was going to do just my rugs but ended up doing my bedrooms as well. Who knew how dirty everything was. I gave my rugs a going over twice and it managed to get rid of the cat urine smell, I used the upholstry nozzle to get deep into the shag pile on the second run. Definately worth a go and will be using it every year.

Didn't even get to use the machine
I hired a Britex machine from Woolworths Port Macquarie for 24 hours one evening, hoping I could clean my carpets the next morning. I am a first home owner and I have never used one of these machines before so I was unsure of what equipment etc was supposed to come with it. All I knew was that I needed some sort of wand attachment so I could clean the carpet on my stairs. The assistants at the front desk at the supermarket were just as unknowledgeable as me in regards to what equipment belonged to the machine, but I trusted them when they let m...Read more
e take a random mess of hoses and a wand attachment. When I went to start cleaning the next morning and attempted to put the machine together (based on Britex's youtube videos) I found the hoses and wand didn't fit the machine at all. The brass connections were very loose and unusable and the hoses didn't match the machine. When I took the machine back that morning they luckily gave me a full refund, but now I have the Britex detergents that I'm unable to use. I spent the rest of the morning trying to track down another machine. Bunnings is the only other place in town that has one but they were missing the hoses and attachments altogether. I wish I could post my review on my experiences with the machine but I couldn't get past the severe disorganisation and incompetent sales staff to even get my hands on one.Similar opinion? Good, but could be improved
The Britex machine cleans well, but I found two major issues with it. First, it's so loud that I wore ear protection for the first time in my life. It was unbearable. And second, it's really hard to lift in and out the car. I've cleaned my couches today, and they look great, and smell fantastic, which is good, because my back isn't letting me move very much because of the awkward lift. Britex, handles, or something to make it easier to lift please? And service the machines more often, because I'm certain this one wasn't supposed to be that unbearably loud.

Very good customer service
Hired a Britex from Woolworth's for first time a couple of weeks ago. Did our house in a few hours, seemed to do a good job. But we noticed the machine dripping water from underneath, which left some wet patches the size of our hands on our carpet. We thought it was just water and would dry overnight. So we returned the machine. The next day the patches were very noticeable and were a dark brown colour. We deduced that the machine had leaked dirty water :(
So I wrote an email to Britex and they responded within the next couple of days. After...Read more
a little confusion regarding where we hired it from they sorted it out. They wanted photos of the patches, which I had taken earlier. So I sent them the pics. The next day Britex phoned and gave her opinion of the stains. They also offered another days hire of a machine, including spot remover. They sent the voucher in the mail along with instructions of how to best deal with the stains. There was no argument or hesitation from them at all. We were very pleased with their response and felt that these days good customer service should be recognised as much as bad. So cheers to Britex for being so helpful and responsive to a customers issue.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Britex - DIY Carlet Cleaning
We hired the Britex machine for a day to clean 2x 2.5 seater lounges and the carpets in 3 medium sized bedrooms. Neither had been cleaned in over 6 years I'm ashamed to say and with teenage boys in the house they were pretty dirty and smelly.
We did the first clean on the lounges which from the look of the water lifted a shocking amount of dirt. When it dried it had brought a lot of dirt to the surface. So, we decided to give both lounges a second go. We ran the upholstery head over the problem areas until the water being sucked out was runnin...Read more

Questions & Answers
Theresaasked
How long do you have to leave the carpet to dry before you can walk on it?
1 answer
Britex C.Britex
Hi Theresa,
We recommend leaving your carpet to dry for 2 - 3 hours minimum before walking on it. If you have to walk on the carpet prior to that, try putting clean towels down in the areas where you are walking. Drying is assisted by leaving your windows open on warm days (allowing the air to circulate) or by putting on your indoor heating on if it's a cooler day. We hope this assists.

Will the Britex urine remover get rid of human urine odour? My 3yo son peed on the couch and I washed it with a vacuum but the smell is still there, no stains just a smell which I can’t stand
1 answer
Britex C.Britex
Hi Dora,
Yes it works on all types of urine stains. We would suggest you check the care instructions on your couch before using it and doing a spot test on an inconspicious area of the couch first.
Britex Urine Remover produces enzymes which destroy the source of the odour, rather than just masking it.
Kenneth M.asked
which machine would be better for lounge, carpet cleaner or rug cleaner?
1 answer
Britex C.Britex
Hi Kenneth, The Britex Deep Carpet Cleaner can be used on carpet, rugs and upholstery. There is an upholstery attachment you can hire for cleaning lounge and car seats etc. We hope this assists!
