Carhood (page 5 of 10)
Car Owner, Car Renter (See All)Reviewer Photos & Videos
- Shared my car for 30 Days. 3500 Kms run, Total payment 280$ (Not even 1$/Km earning- Payment still awaited)
- Failed to drop me pick up instructions when I was collecting car during their out of office hours, had to wait for hours until their Sydney office opened. They asked to come by Taxi and will pay full refund - Failed to pay full refund.
- Don't depreciate your car value by sharing it to them (280$ for 3500 Kms ??) - I'd rather sell my car for 1000$ more for low usage of car (3500 Kms)
Payment due date has crossed on 6-June but still the payments have not been credited. Customer service executive guys have no clue when the outstanding payments would be made.

The staff explained everything in very detailed and polite manner. There were some issues with pricing, but he investigated and resolved the issue on time. The car was clean and fairly new.
I would recommend them to have office in the city so that people from city don't have to go to airport to pick up the car.

I've been a customer since April last year, back in January this year after I picked up my car after listing with them for 2 weeks, I noticed a chip on my windscreen. They initially tried to tell me that it may have been there when I dropped off the vehicle, however after checking their check-in photos it was clear that my windscreen was not damaged when it was dropped off with them. So their claims manager - [Name Removed] has agreed to pay for the repair, I had the chip repaired in February and they said accounts will reimburse me accordingly, I have not received a dime since. Not to mention all the rental income that I should have received over the last 2 years.

Brisbane office has always provided excellent and hassle free service. My car was returned to me, gleaming and spotless! Angela came to collect me from the airport before her working time had begun. Yvonne and her team have been welcoming and given me peace of mind whenever I have left my car in their care - many times now and the business idea is a wonderful concept.
However, the other side of the business shows a very bad non caring attitude towards lack of payment for so many trusting car owners like myself, who only want what has been promised in the business model.
If I can write a separate review on this matter, I will be agreeing with many of the previous negative reviews stated, for months now!

Carhood has not paid my earnings for more than 4 months. They also did not attach e-toll to my car when they rented it out. so I had toll charges charged to my account as my car is registered with e-toll.
The have not refunded toll charges to my account yet.
Poor customer service and no response to emails.
Only response I got from them is the delay is caused by management struggling to clear payment backlogs. This does not seem convincing for 4 months plus delay

Kind Regards, Carhood TeamThis is ridiculously taking too long, or just they dont want to pay, I have 4 invoices pending currently and I currently have another car of mine with these guys, with which they are happily making money and not paying me a cent. I am seriously considering taking legal action with all their emails since last 1 year. This is getting beyond ridiculous. This is all happening after using their services for such a long time. I dont care what their management doing anymore, I dont care if they are going for public issue and wants to show books properly, if they have no problem in making money, they shouldn't have problem in paying after waiting for this long atleast.

Read more We apologise for the delay in disbursing your payment. Carhood is a small startup business that is funded by limited investors. Carhood was created with the purpose of addressing Australia's hefty airport parking fees that cost travellers billions of dollars every year that go to the pockets of the airports. We had anticipated investor funds that did not come in at the start of this year which caused delays to owner payments of approx. 6 months. We have confirmed a new investor with funds anticipated to clear within the next 6 weeks. We acknowledge that there are listers who are waiting on payment and once investor funds are cleared we intend to pay these as a matter of priority which has been agreed with the incoming investors. We sincerely apologise to our listers for the delay and thank each and every car owner for their patience as we work to address these matters. Kind Regards, Carhood Team- 2 reviews

Our IVR system has proven difficult and resulted in certain calls not being put on hold and connecting through to our customer service department. To address this we have switched on live chat (as you will see on our website) as of today. This will ensure customers are not left on hold on the phone lines and are able to get a swift response regarding their matters. It also makes it easier for those travellers who may be overseas without a sim to call us which has proven difficult over the past. As for email, our current email response rate over the last 6 months has averaged 25 hours. Over the last 30 days, we have managed to get this down to 14 hours. Rented my vehicle four months ago without payment. Their terms state payment within a month however as with other renters they use a poor excuse of a backlog of invoices and will escalate to accounts team. Following this Carhood will then stop replying and ignore further emails and calls.
Considering they charge the people who hire cars on the spot they are not meeting their end of the bargain with the renters where they make their sole money and profits from.

At first when we were contacting them, they told us it was ‘with the accounts department’. For the last 2 months they have just ignored us. Hi,
Carhood is the worst rental company ever. This's the first time in my life facing a rental car company cancelling the rental few days before the date without any substitution or compensation. Knowing that my rental was in a high season, which means higher prices and lower number of cars in the market. Leaving me in this situation was horrible. My trip to Goldcoast supposed to be a leisure trip for me and my family, instead of that they put me under stress.

BEWARE. I've rented out my car on Carhood twice and it's been months since my invoices are overdue. They haven't paid or contacted my despite numerous calls and emails. Please think twice about leaving your car at the airport with them. I've seen multiple complaints about them in this forum, I am not the only one not being paid, apparently.
We put both cars into carhood Melbourne for hire for almost 3 months. We picked up the cars in the 3rd week in January and still have not received any payment in rental returns. A clear breach of their contractual obligation.
Service is shocking.0 We have been unable to speak to anyone other than 'support staff' who provide little support and refuse to transfer our calls to anyone in accounts responsible for making payments. It begs the question why the delay? And why the refusal to allow customers to speak to the appropriate team- if that team actually exists??....
Seriously think twice about leaving your car with this company if you expect payment any time soon. Very disappointing.

Read more We apologise for the inconvenience caused. As per checking, our record shows that you have been advised by our Customer Service team on the payment timeframe, payments are made 30 days after the listing and it shows that it has only been 17days since you picked up your vehicle. As per the taxi reimbursement, it has already been added to your earnings and will be included in the payout. In regards to the kilometres used, when you signed up with Carhood, you agreed that your car will be used 200km/day if it is rented and as per checking, your vehicle was rented for 25 days. 25days x 200kms =5000kms allowance in total, but our renters only used 3500kms. As for the earnings computation, If you rent out your vehicle with us for 30 consecutive days and your income is less than $250, you will receive the $250 instead but if your income is greater you will receive the greater amount instead. Here is how it works: https://www.carhood.com.au/guarantee. Also, Carhood will dynamically set the car's rental price based on market value, location, time of year, and other data sets to maximize your income and boost your listing's competitiveness. To get an idea of market prices at your airport, search for comparable listings. As far as all these concerns go, I don't believe that a 1-star review is fair for us as we were very transparent with all these in the terms and conditions. Regards, Carhood Team
