Hi,my partner and I wish to cancel our membership,we paid alot of money in townsville many of years ago and wish to stop our membership, can you assist me?
We would love to cancel too - it is an absolute [Word Removed]. However, we have not found a way out. I have heard that people sell membership on gumtree but the asking price is just peanuts. Good luck!
same here, we want to get out of it too. Can't stay at plaaces when we want them on in places we want them. We have paid out our contract - straight out classic escapes but have to pay the yearly fees...
Read more. Nowhere on their site can i find how to transfer the membershipWe were told Classic Holidays was not time share by the promotion person at the Pacific Fair shopping Center. After handing over $40 to go to the seminar to claim the prize, we did our research and realised it was time share. We are not interested in sitting through the 90 minutes of sales talk and want our money back. How do we get our $40 back without going there?
You probably won't get the money back without going - just another example of their rip-offs....but if you don't get it back, consider losing $40 betting than being conned out of $26,000!!!
Contact their head office and insist they provide a refund. They did for me--via direct debit.
I got caught in the same situation. Not wanting to loose my $40, I just went there and got my refund back at the front desk. After meeting the the bloke for a few minutes I told him that I wasn't inte...
Read morerested in your products to which he said, "then why did you come," to which I gave him the obvious answer, "to get my money back!" I think he was grateful too as I didn't have to waste his time on a membership I had no intention on joining. My now husband kindly received his contract to continue in a divorce settlement some 14 years ago. He pays yearly fees and we have only used it twice as most dates we can take a holiday are not available. We want to exit the contract - he estimates he’s been with Classic for about 25 years - 25 years of paying fees with use or return. He now has a 7 day Letter for arrears and they are threatening Debt Recovery. It’s absolute highway robbery. Does anyone have any ideas about how we exit please?
Thank you for your question Ally. Would you kindly private message us with your husband’s details so that we can contact him to discuss this directly
Im about to take classic holidays to ASIC for fraudulent practices

Hi Janine as far as I know points do expire but it is usually after 3 years from when they were acquired. Depending on what points you purchased I believe some can be used for gift vouchers but this y...

Read moreend a 60min presentation if we do attend we’ll get our $40 back, Well that was the most expensive $40 that we’ve ever claimed back. We got sucked in the 60min presentation then another 30min, followed by us paying a deposit to be members then next we were in an office signing some forms of-course we didn’t read the fine prints if we did we would have been there till midnight and besides she was just pointed out where to sign. They have never explained the financial part of the process / deal. We left with bundles of brochures, pamphlets, key ring, pen inside a little booklet box and a $99 voucher which expired in 12 months. We were hardly landed back home NZ as I was bombarded with emails and texts to forward on our payslips etc. We joint in Feb 2018, paid the deposit then paid DD $450 so far, I rang several times spoke to few people including freedom finance. I wrote two letters and their Response is still a No. We haven’t even used any of their services, members benefits also the weekly voucher of $99. Also told them about our change of circumstances / hardship situation. I even told them verbally that I’ll return all their papers, key, voucher also said to them to get their money back from Classic Holiday as we’ve never used any of what they offered, still saying no, anyway I’m reading other questions and answers page so we’ll be joining in with those people to take them down - it’s more to say but I need to read others reviews- NZ citizens and tax payers both Government employeeshi you might want to visit this site https://my-secure.justanswer.com/question/guest/159364ff21134d628cf744210abfc840

How can I cancel my membership ???
I have inherited 2 weeks thru my father who purchased this time share about 40 years ago and I never use it and can’t afford the very expensive levies per year any longer. Has anyone else been able to cancel.
Hi did you get any answer into cancelling your inheritance. Was there any cost, I am having a battle with them as I speak. Denise
Hello, can anyone help me out here ? I would like to cancel the membership but I have emailed Classic Holidays but I have not yet get any reply. Anyone knows how I am able to cancel it ? Many thanks !!!!
Hi Linda, their automatic reply / answer is that you can’t cancel. We are throwing emails back and forth because they can’t cancel our membership. At the moment we are seeking advice from our lawyer w...
Read morehich is helpful. We are prepared to go to court if we have to. So, my advice is to keep on telling them to cancel don’t give up.Just got a call from a lady from classics head office in qld. We were told that the 199 fee would be wavered if we met with a financial advisor. I asked if they were independent, and they said there employed by classic. Has anyone here met with one or should i be cautious?
Regards
Allan
They're probably trying to con you into signing for a personal loan to pay for the membership (as indicated in other reviews... They then claim they're not responsible because "it appears you took ou...
Read moret a personal loan to pay for the membership" essentially distancing themselves from the reality that they actually got them to sign up to the loan and that the loan is with a company owned by them.... At 14% interest! RUN!Just wondering? We signed up with the membership and then cancelled as there were many things not explained, Many phone called were unreturned and when I tried to book a holiday I was told the dates weren't available. We have now been given the 199.00 voucher to book a holiday is it worth all the drama. ( Is there hidden things that we should know. Would it just be easier to book a week away with a travel agent that will tell you exactly what you will be getting?
Reading the reviews indicates that these prize holidays are significantly inferior to anything you could arrange yourself or through an agent. You will also be obliged to attend a seminar on said fre...
Read moree holiday (they will claim you aren't obliged to attend, but if you don't attend they will take $500 from you, so you judge whether this is obligation!)I honestly wouldn't bother. We also were given a voucher but we were not told that we had to attend ANOTHER presentation to use the voucher. It honestly isn't worth all the headaches. Dates are very limited.
Don't bother they don't mention the annual fee - It is the biggest lemon - an ongoing liability which they advise you cannot back out of. Only sell it or give it away. Why would you give someone an on...
Read moregoing liability? The feedback on the website also says it all - you can give negative feedback by typing comments in, but the check list only goes from OK to Excellent!!!We signed up 2 years ago & only used it once for a 3 day holiday this year. I have been wanting to cancel the membership since last year, as we paid $2290 in 2015, and then $$209 last year, now they want another $219. We don't really do many holidays and if we do, we usually stay with family or use our caravan. I would like to know how to cancel this membership.
is there any legal firm i can go to? Or should I go to my solicitor?
Contact ASIC in your state and seek advice.
They assisted us and we are no longer traumatised by this. Good Luck
Thanks. I rang them, but they told me they couldn't help me, & told me to ring Dept of consumer affairs.
so will try them.
Hi i'm in the same boat as you.
This has been a waste of money! I haven't been able to use it, as accommodation is never available
and also found that it's cheaper to book holidays using other sit...
We signed up last week, I am not satisfied with the surveys and stories here on this review page, I would like to cancel my membership as I have time in the cooling off period .
I do not want to be pressured in keeping the membership as I feel I was on the day of signing even though Loclin was very nice we did say we where not in a position to buy .
In hindsight we where rash to agree I would like the cooling off paperwork to be electronically sent to me please.
Just wondering if anyone has ever gone on the "free holiday" you won on your scratching with Altiqa, without purchasing the whole $19,000 odd deal?
Yeah, "free holiday" what a lie
Look at the fine print closely before giving them your credit card details. The holiday destination can't be guaranteed. Plus your required to attend another 60 minute presentation which you will ne...
Read moreed to clarify with them as to where it's being held because if you don't attend then your expected to pay a penalty of $500 extra. After looking at other reviews I would suggest you save your money. You must attend another 60 min presentation. Do you really want to do this?
Has anyone ever gone on the free holiday won from the scratchy card? Did you have to pay a $199 booking fee and attend another sales pitch as part of the free holiday conditions? Also what was the accommodation like?
Yes. My brother already owned timeshare but went along anyway just so they could get a free 7 day holiday. And yes they didnt spend any money and got to go to Port Stephens Ramada all for free recentl...
Read morey. So if you are clever you can get a free holidaymIs it true that even if you attend the 90 minute presentation and pay the $199 booking fee you have to attend another sales talk session or you get charged an additional $200?
No idea, have been a member for several years so don't know present rules.
You would need to attend a compulsory presentation when you get to the resort.
Yes. And you will be put under pressure to sign up.
How can classic holidays say that we won a free holiday and then charge a $199 booking fee and then not include the airfare?
Thanks for your question. Terms and conditions of our promotion are stated on the scratch and win ticket. Guests are under no obligation to collect the prize, attend the presentation or purchase anything.
Because they're scammers and liars. They say free and then try to use a loophole phrase to claim that the fee is a "condition" and not a cost
Has anyone submitted a compliant to the ACCC about classic holidays? Reading all the stories about how people signed up and can't cancel I think the consumer needs some help!!
I am writing a submission to ASIC regarding their failure to adjust legislation so that people can exit from timeshare contracts if they choose to do so. It is not fair for timeshare companies to incr...
Read moreease fees and charges at will, while the payee has no contractual powers to terminate the contract. If you are a Queensland resident and you want to exit a timeshare contract for any reason, please send me an email describing your timeshare contract, and whether the company described their product adequately before the contract became binding. Norman Jones email [email protected]I dont understand what the point system is..one person was saying if they dont use the points they loose them..is this only for Australia and New Zealand.
Hi Jeanette we're happy to go through this with you. Please let me know if you'd like us to private message you so you can provide your membership and contact details.
I have now cancelled my membership. Was not comfortable with requirements.
Points can be used anywhere in the world where relevant resorts are. I understand that the points may expire after 2 years but I would contact Classic Holidays and discuss with them. There are a few ways to use points other than for resorts.
How do you get out of Classic Holidays?
If I had a dollar for every time I read this on the internet I could afford to go on the most extravagant holidays!!
