A dust must
Excellent product that really sucks the dirt. It is Light and easy to store and charge. Best of all manoeuvrability is excellent. No plugging and unplugging. Great on tiled floors. Only down side is battery charge could last a little longer and price. If you shop around you can buy it for a reasonable price. Overall satisfaction 5 star. Makes you want to do a quick vac.

Absolutely love it!
After my previous cordless vacuum died after less than three years, I decided to change brands and styles. Wow! What a difference. I just love my new Dyson Motörhead. It stores easily on the wall in the garage (or laundry, wherever is best for you), is lightweight and can be used everywhere in the home and car. I vacuum tiles and carpet every morning before leaving for work. It only takes a few mins to quickly whizz around the main traffic areas to keep the house looking clean. I love it because it picks up all the dust under the bathroom...Read more
vanity. No longer is this a chore for my husband. The vacuum is extremely easy to use and empty. The filter simply pulls out, rinse under the tap, dry then pop back in. Anyone can use this vacuum. No cords to trip over and fantastic suction. It picks up dirt I didn't know was there. I cannot recommend the Dyson Powerhead enough. I love it for use in the home and car.Similar opinion? excellent product
this is the best vacuum I have ever used it is so light and easy to manouver around furniture and the suction is fantastic I use it on both carpet and wooden floors, it makes vacuuming so much easier and quicker and much quieter than a normal vac, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Great stick vac with good continuous suction
This stick vac has great continuous suction. Great for small spaces or quick going over an area. It is used for carpet & floors in my house. Very easy to assemble but cleaning the canister can be a bit of a challenge as the dust gets caught up high in the canister & is hard to get out. The release door makes it easy to open though. Very easy to manoeuvre & light to work with. Once fully charged battery could run a bit longer. Overall happy but I would buy the v8 if I had my choice now. I bought an barrel Dyson big ball animal vac at the same time. Very happy

This Vac has is amazing .. the time it saves in setting up and plugging is unbelievable..
I am so surprised about this Vacuum cleaner. I purchased the item with doubt that it would be able to offer what I needed due to it's size and charge time. Well I am very happy to say, I vacuum a three bedroom home with mixed carpet and floor boards and it works like a dream. Under beds, tables along skirting boards, changes directions without any problem. The heads are easy to remove and replace. Cost verse how the product works. Would pay more. Have recommended three other family members to purchase this product after they used mine. Everyone is just as happy and we are not always easy to please. The place is makes the most difference is the stairway. No more dragging extension cords... I am living the dream :)

Brilliant
Our V6 motor head is the is the most versitile machine you could ever want to purchase. We vacum our 2 story, 3 bedroom house, plus the lounge suite and the beds. We go from a wooden floor to carpet with ease and still have enough power left over, Brilliant.

Very sad beginning ...
Purchased this from The Good Guys online eBay store in October 2016. Picked it up from the store sometime in November, I built a new house so did not open it till we moved into the new house.
Moved into the new house in January 2nd weeks and opened the Dyson Motorhead handstick that weekend to clean up some difficult corner and within the FIRST use the compartment holding the dirt and scrap it had sucked in fell on the floor.
I put the damn thing together then the battery ran out, charged it fully despite. I ain't fooling it wasn't even 5 mi...Read more

Excellent cleaner of carpets but...
It's an excellent stick vacuum cleaner on carpets, however most of our flooring is timber and the motorhead scratches them quite badly. The sales lady didn't tell us it could only be used on carpets and I stupidly didn't do my research properly prior to buying it. I contacted Dyson to see if I could buy a different head as an accessory to use on our timber floors but was told that wasn't possible. So in that regard, I am very disappointed with our purchase.

Great for quick once overs, will not replace a traditional vac though!
This product is very good for dust and pet hair. It is not good with larger or heavier items, or things like bits of string or wool which get would up in the bottom. It does not however, clean the car carpet very well though. It is very easy to use and much less arduous than lugging around a normal vacuum cleaner, much better on one's back. I use it mainly to do the quick onceover/tidyup. I can do a quick whip around the whole two stories of our house within one charge. It does however fill up very quickly if your house is dust prone. Overall pretty happy, but I would expect to be for the price.

Love the convenience
I pondered long and hard over what to buy but I love love love my Dyson Stick. It beats the hassle of getting out the big vac and best of all my kids can use it to clean up after themselves. The cat's hair on the chair is no longer a problem to suck up. Aaaannnnnddd it is so easy to empty.

Good at suction but small dust Bin
Really happy with the suction of the vacuum but the dust bin is really small. Plus dust bin is bit difficult to remove & reattach. Could have used better material for dust bin as it feels quite cheap material. it is lightweight to use and cleans carpet really really good. Giving 4 star as not sure how long the dust bin will last (constant emptying it will take its toll one day)

Very handy!
Constantly having to vacumn up after the little ones, my Dyson makes it very handy to do so. It has great suction on both carpet and hardwood. Only downside is that it only last for about 5 - 10 mins of constant vacum before battery runs out then I charge it for about 1-2 hours before I can use it again. So can't vacumn the whole house in one go.

Dyson V6 Cordless Stick Vacuum
Extremely powerful, Easy to clean, Great maneuverability, Easy to store & charge - bit noisy however, but what vacuum isn't!! - go get one, if you can afford it. Well made products/tools cost money, but last longer than the cheaper impersonator versions! Look after it from the start & keep it well maintained (eg) wash & dry the filter, which is extremely easy.

Hi Valgore,
Thanks for your product review.... Read more
We are excited to hear our customer's feedback and are glad you are enjoying your new machine. We wanted to reach out and offer some advice for emptying the bin canister as we noticed you are getting dirty hands. We certainly don't expect people to be reaching inside the bin canister to remove the dirt stuck around the cyclone shroud, so to avoid this we have put a Max fill line on the side at which point the bin should be emptied. Also, give the canister a few gentle taps on the side prior to pressing the red release trigger, this will encourage the debris to fall towards the base. If you do get dust, hair sticking to the upper section of the canister, this is simply due to static. To remove easy, press the red release catch down twice, and then remove the bin canister completely away from the machine. This will allow you to easily dust the cyclone shroud off with your combination accessory tool. We hope this information helps, please don't hesitate to reach out to our helpline on 1800 239 766 for further assistance. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm and over the weekend from 8:30am - 4pm Best wishes, Taryn Facebook.com/DysonSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Surprised how efficient it is
I bought a large Electrolux 240 volt vacuum cleaner a couple of years ago which had amazing suction and was easy to empty the dust out of the barrel.I soon realised that it was too bulky to drag around our small house.
Saw the Dyson V6 Motorhead at a reduced price at Harvey Norman.
First impression was, how can a small rechargeable vacuum with a small motor have a decent amount of suction.
At $630 I also thought that it was very expensive, but the sales girl assured me that I would be happy with it once I realised how efficient it was.

Sliced Bread Stand to the Side
This is the most convenient vacuum cleaner we have ever owned. The suction is sufficiently good to tackle the dirtiest areas. On all types of floors it is superior and there are no cords or barrels to contend with, making it the most versatile cleaner we have ever owned. The battery life lasts the time to clean the entire house and it is so convenient you can quickly spot clean. Love it

Refurbished model
Bought it refurbished and when the motorhead was triggered, it didn't always rotate when it was turned on. Dyson sent a replacement tube but it wasn't compatible with my model. The original part had been discontinued so they are sending me another vacuum. Hope it works! I don't like that I have to engage the trigger all the time.

An excellent product
I purchased this product last month from good guys for around $580. It started with a performance way better than by expectation. It ticked all the boxes and is definitely worth the price paid for. The only negative aspect I would say is the size of the container where the dirt accumulates and would need frequent emptying, sometimes even twice during cleaning.

Brilliant, all a girl or boy needs!
This cordless vacuum cleaner sucks up everything, dog hair, cat hair on fibre / jute matting. It also is brilliant on my wood floors. I exchanged my second, (the first one died, battery issues) Electrolux stick cordless vacuum cleaner at Harvey Norman, under their Product Care service arrangement, a 6 year warranty. The Electrolux has a faulty battery set up and the vacuum cleaner is poorly designed. It required maintenance plus+ after each use. Apparently there is a new model on the way to fix these faults! Anyway, I upgraded to a Dyson V6 M...Read more
otorhead and could not be happier. It includes and excellent combination and crevice tool. It has a 2 year Warranty and extended Harvey Norman Product Care Warranty ie 6 years. So impressed with the service at Harvey Normans, at Noarlunga, South Australia and service from Izzy and Kirsty Mutton. Oh yes, it is light and the suction is fab. The noise level is okay by me. This machine is well designed.1 comment
One caveat, the little wheels on the front are a nuisance. Don't take them out to clean, they are a nightmare to put back in. It requires tweezers and some force! A design fault!

Very Disappointed
Having heard so much about this Hoover, and also already have a fab Bosch Hoover we decided to invest in v6.
Very light, gets into most spaces my Bosch couldn't, battery life shocking.
Only had the Hoover 1 week and feeling we have wasted money here.
After discovering that having it on max, it kills the battery in 10 minutes so swapped over to standard and it does exactly as it says 17 minutes. I did think it was a joke. I only have a 2 bedrooms mid terrace house so it's hardly a mansion but when doing whole house at once or doing the car...Read more

My Dyson V6 Motorhead cordless vacuum- the motorhead has stopped spinning and there's hardly any suction. I've cleaned it fully and nothing is stuck. The vacuum works with different attachments. Just the motorhead doesn't work at all. Any ideas?

Have you completely pulled the brush spin part out?
Yes.
Sometimes hair around the brush at the ends stops it spinning. But the product is cheap. I’m buying a new brush end off eBay as mine stopped working after a year or two

My wife and I love the Dyson we currently have however, it has been blowing dust out of the back of it after the canister as been emptied. It also has been doing this once the canister is re-attached. Could this be a problem with the filter needing cleaned/ replaced?
2 answers
So the air filter just pulls out at the top of the motor, recommend cleaning once/twice a week if using everyday
Dyson Team ..Dyson
We certainly wouldn't expect any Dyson machine to blow dust out of itself.
We would kindly ask you to get in touch directly with our Dyson Experts via [email protected] and we will be happy to help get this sorted.

do i have too screw the docking station onto a wall or can i just leave it propped up against the wall?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
It's best not to leave the machine sitting propped against a wall while charging in case it gets knocked over and damaged. We'd suggest to charge the machine with the power cord while it's sitting on a flat surface, or install the charger into the docking station and install the docking station on a wall.

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for reviewing your V6 machine.... Read more
We wanted to reach out to ensure you are getting the most out of your cord-free machine. The V6 range has a run time of 17-20 minutes in normal mode after a 3.5 hour charge which has sufficient suction to collect normal household dust and debris. It sounds like you may be using your machine in MAX mode constantly which will only provide you with 6-8 minutes of run time after a full charge. That is because MAX mode triples the power of your machine and reduces the run time. To turn off, simply pull and hold the red trigger on and while your machine is running, press the MAX button once quickly. You should notice the change in power and the blue light will switch off. If we can be of any further assistance, please don't hesitate to call us on 1800 239 766. Our helpline is open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm and over the weekend from 8:30am - 4pm.
