Read more In general leaving electrical equipment is areas of high moisture is not recommended. If there is high humidity and the moisture able to condense inside the cyclone or filter the dust may start to stick inside the machine, reduce the overall airflow, and the filter might begin to have a musty smell. If you must store the machine in the laundry it is a good idea to remove it when the clothes dryer is switched on. My V8 doesn’t seem to be holding charge. It only runs for a few minutes and then dies again. Not sure what is causing it?

We believe its the life of the battery is very short! We only have gotten 1 year of recharging from ours.

Hi I have had my Dyson v8 Animal for about 4 months and have used it on both carpet and tiles without a problem in this time. However now it has started to not slide easily over the tiles, it rubs and sticks causing the head to ‘jump’ over the tiles. any idea what’s causing this?

Having the same issue with a V8 Animal I purchased my wife 6 months ago. Full battery, switch to max suction and it does. I love the vacuum, but from all of the things I'm reading with people with the same problem, there seems to be an issue.
1) the battery life is an issue. I mean working correctly or not. Should have thought this one through q little better.
2) cutting out in less than 1 minute in max suction, but when I place it on the charger it registers 2 bars. (Airglow issue or not, it should have a light etc. if that is the reason, but still no sense why it cuts off.
I hope you can fix it. My wife wanted this so bad and now is scared to use it.
Back to R&D if there's no solution guys.

Our Dyson V8 used to run for quite a long time, but after using it today the battery died after about 30 minutes. It had been charging since the last time I used it, and after letting it charge for a few hours and using again the battery lasted only about 30 minutes again. Read more Please disregard the above answer. A surging noise is a design feature of the machine to indicate that there is a blockage. Using the battery on MAX mode will cause the machine to become quite hot and if you put it straight on charge without letting it cool down this can cause an issue. If you are using the machine on MAX for the full run time please let it cool down for a few minutes before charging. I am on my second Dyson V8 Animal. I charge it for 4 hours; all lights are lit. I am only getting about 5 minutes run time and then it shuts down...no bars. When it was working to full capacity, I love It! I have 2 dogs and it picks up their hair and is a great vacuum but I am not so sure I have enough faith in Dyson to purchase another one. I am not down grading to a lower Dyson model and I am NOT spending $600 for the V10. Both vacuums were purchases at Home Depot. Why is this happening???????

Read more The V8 machines have 2 power modes, and a variety of possible run times from 6-40 minutes based on the power mode and floor tool selected. A run time of approximately 6 minutes is expected when the machine is set to Max mode, and the machine is automatically set to Max when new. Look for the silver oval switch on top of the machine and switch it to the normal mode for a longer run time. Sounds like your lithium battery is not holding charge, is your warranty up?? I would get in touch with Home Depot to see if you can get a replacement ot go to Dyson direct.

I love my animal V8 Dyson but the head has started to rub/squeak on the floor as if the rollers are getting stuck or jammed. I am a bit concerned this rubbing will scratch my floor boards. We purchase the V8 Animal about 6 weeks ago. Currently, we are having trouble charging the unit. When I plug it in, three lights flash.
