I need to replace the battery on my Dyson Animal V8. Looking on Amazon I see there are several different batteries for the V8. How can I tell which one is the correct replacement battery?

If purchased through a third-party we can't guarantee that it will not damage the machine or work as intended.

why does it take 5 hours to recharge my dyson v8? I can only use it for approximately 15 minutes, then it quits, and EVERY TIME it takes 5 hours to recharge. It is less than a year old but have ALWAYS had this problem. Seems like a waste of ALOT of money to take days to vacuum my house, which has wood floors. I am thinking about returning it and getting my money back. Thought it would be a time saver.

Thank you for your question.
The charge time is 5 hours for the Dyson V8 and it has a runtime of up to 7 mins on high mode, up to 25 mins on normal with a Motorhead and up to 40 mins on normal without a motorhead.
Should you find you are not reaching these times we'd recommend to contact our helpline on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy. Our helpline is open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and on the weekend 8.30am-4pm.

My V8 absolute works for about 3-4 minutes then cuts out. If I plug it in the charger and unplug it straight away it starts working again. If I use the maximum setting it only runs for a few seconds before cutting out and will then restart again after plugging it in and out of the charger. Is there a cutout somewhere which is resetting itself? TIA

My dyson head roller has stopped spinning. I took the brush itself off and i can see that the edge of the motor ( which is supposed to spin the brush ) doesnt turn round.
I cleaned the head and cleaned the boday itself?
took all the head apart up to the motor - but still no change.
I have had this head for a year only - sounds quite unreal changing it for a new one for 80$... any help?

My direct drive motorhead floor cleaner has suddenly got noisier and grinding. Have dismantled and cleaned as in.the video and checked for blockage. Its is ok with the small motorhead for stairs?

To confirm, The Dyson V8 has two modes of suction; Max and high power. With the motorised head attached the machine will provide 25-30 minutes on high power mode. Without using a motorised tool it can run up to 40 minutes on high power mode. On Max mode, the machine will run for 7 minutes regardless of the tool in use.

Purchased the Dyson V8 Animal 3rd Jan 2018 (so frustratingly, ONLY just out of warranty) from Harvey Norman Morayfield. My mother has a small 2 bedroom granny flat, and for the past 3 weeks has said that she is needing to re-charge mid clean. Today, she said it had taken 3 re-charges to complete cleaning. I have checked myself that machine is fully charged, only being run on high power, and after testing myself, found it was completely out of charge after only 6 minutes. Would appreciate some advice on what to do to remedy this problem.

My Dyson V8 stops working on max setting after a few seconds. I have bought and fitted new filters. It will not start again on either setting until I replace it in the charger for 30 seconds. What is the problem and how can it be fixed? Just out of guarantee.

I am in EXACTLY the same position. I would add that after 30 secs on charge it starts again but stops after another few seconds. Being out of guarantee by only a couple of months this is a very troubling issue. This was a not a cheap vacuum to buy.

My Motorhead won’t spin, but the vacuum cleaner still has suctions. There is no blockage. Rather, it feels like the Motorhead is locked in place. What’s the issue?

Brush head will not turn. Unit will turn on as normal
All contacts have been cleaned. Could there be a problem with the direct drive motor?
I removed the brush head and when I turn the unit on, I can see the direct drive motor rotate approx 1/4 turn, then it stops. The unit will still be on. Any help would be appreciated

i have just bought a Dyson V8 Animal Complete works great round flat till i come to bedroom with fluffy carpet, the dyson keeps stopping and will not hoover or move on the carpet. was told when we bought it, that it would hoover any think, any suggestions or should i take back for refund?

This indicates that your machine is sealing too much to your carpet and unable to get sufficient airflow. We would encourage switching from the Max mode to the High Power mode if not already to ensure your machine gets sufficient airflow to clean your carpet.

Hi Patti, as the v8 animal charges the lights turn on from 1 to 2 & then 3 before turning off altogether when the machine is FULLY charged. There is nothing to worry about so long as it is still operating when you try to use it. Tara
