Facts are as follows I’m in my 50,s went to store with a list of items to buy. Walked in checked in COVID wearing face mask. Passed trolleys thinking there would be some inside. Find first and second item go to get assistance for location of cold cartons of beer. He goes straight to my son and asked for ID. As I gave one of the items to carry, he then tells me he won’t serve me as he thinks I am buying for him. I explain I have no trolley I can’t get a trolley without exiting the store I can’t carry everything. But no he will not serve me.

Read moref I was 18 with a minor he could have some sort of argument but I am not but he has decided I am lying and he is judge, jury..,executioner! So my son is a minor fact. But since when does the bottle shop attendant get to decided who I am buying for. Finally after him trying to tell me it is law! It is not it is company policy big difference. Live in Sydney, 800m from a First Choice store, but trying to do the right thing during lockdown, so ordered online Sunday 18JUL21 and selected home delivery via standard courier service. Couple of cases of beer + 1 liqueur, nothing exciting. Quickly received confirmation of order received and then, following day Monday 19JUL21, the Shippit email confirmation that the order had shipped...from First Choice's Jandakot store in, you guessed it, Perth. 3,965 klms away from my house. Anyway, 9 days later goods arrived. Ordered the same goods, on the same day via Dan Murphy's and goods shipped from Sydney store and arrived Wednesday 21JUL21. I know who I'll be using again next time.
Don't know why they offer a delivery service the first time I tried using them I got a message at the last minute saying that it had been cancelled so I tried with another order where the money came out straight away but the order wasn't even placed for another week because I phoned up to see where it was and then still didn't receive it a week later due to Australia post saying no one was in when we where waiting for it to arrive so to pick it up from the local post office if I wanted to pick it up myself I wouldn't have ordered delivery in the first place will never use this service again as there is no point
The slowest delivery i have experience overseas delivery is faster and I called to complain they don’t care I’ve been waiting three weeks and counting for two bottles of jacks

I accepted an offer received by email from First Choice to order wine with free standard delivery, which takes 3 to 5 days according to their site delivery information; but today’s it’s been 10 days & I have not received my wine. I was contacted 2 days ago because a couple of the wines were not available, it took them almost a week to inform me of this, they offered apropria-te exchanges, I confirmed & then nothing was done for 2 days until I rang to complain. Only then they took some action, but I don’t think I’ll receive my wines for the week...

They offered me a $10 off my next purchase as a way to reward me for the crap service, but I reminded them that every email they send me already has a $10 or even $20 discount so they are not really giving me anything special. My son-in-law lives in NSW and I decided to buy him a decent single malt, in a gift bag and with a birthday card from 1st Choice and have it delivered. I ordered online 2 weeks before his birthday thinking this would be plenty of time to have it delivered. Well 2 weeks pass, its his birthday and no delivery. I call 1st Choice to find out what is happening with the delivery. Apparently 1 Choice has run out of gift bags, so no delivery. No contact with me about this and in my contact with them, no time frame in which they will get stocks of gift ...

Purchased a bottle of cab sav, it was absolutely atrocious, rung Gerome from my local store in Baldivis swapped it over for something a little more palatable. Great chap. Very happy with the level of service that was provided.

It's really frustrating when one pays extra for a quick service, and then the courier claims you weren't there ("receiver unavailable" was the wording used), even though one was in all the time. If I'd known that they wouldn't perform, I could have made other arrangements, but now it's too late. Trust is easy to lose, and very difficult to get back.
Just been to 1st choice liquor at Westfield Plenty Valley VIC and it was my first time there. Entered the store and started to compare prices of few singlemalt whisky with other stores using my phone. This salesperson comes to me and askes me "are you buying anything or what". He really ticked me off, I told him "I'm just comparing the prices" and I showed him my phone too, he just ignored me. I did not expect to face such an experience, I walked out, now I'm heading to liquor land. 1st choice just lost a sale worth of $300.

Put through a $200+ order earlier today for delivery. Got an email saying that the payment has been declined. Checked my credit card and money has been taken out. Been on the phone for nearly an hour and now informed that my order won't be delivered today.
First time ordering through you guys. Never again.
I want to give a big shout out to Issy at the Toowong store in Brisbane. Her customer service is EXCELLENT!
She was so helpful when I was looking for some very hard to find beers a few weeks ago and she went out of her way to find the beer I was after then helped me to my car with it. Fantastic customer service!
I've also had great customer service at the Salisbury and Oxley stores. Very nice staff and very helpful. Thanks guys!

Ordered and paid for 3 items, only two got delivered. Lied to me on the phone that I haven’t paid for it and never ordered it. I emailed the order screenshot and bank split showing the full charge! Guess what? - a week in and no reply! I mean it’s only a case of beer but this is more like a theft and beyond any reasonable doubt their systems aren’t best. Do yourself a favour, spend 5$ extra and buy somewhere else.

After shopping around for best price I placed an order for my daughters 30th last weekend . Delivery and transaction was fast and easy . The after service with a small issue was also handled very well . I would definitely use again
No common sense! i was having a party the next day and asked my 16 year old to come and help me as i had sprained my knee, i asked my son to grab a trolley and he pushed it around for me while i loaded it.
probably spent 30 min in the store once at the counter my son was asked for id, and i politely asked why he is only 16, the alcohol is for me, the licensee in charged said that he was pushing trolley therefore he could not sell me the alcohol and would prefer i go elsewhere to buy. i have been attending this store for over 10 years, lost me as a client!!

Got a 'carton' of corona from their website... firstly order was 2 days late to arrive, next u got 12 beers... apparently that was what I got... but paid $54.
A day after I purchased the 'cartons advertised on their website, the price and description changed. I will be taking them to the ACCC for false advertising, wouldn't have cared but THE WORST customer service I have ever received, so this company needs to be pulled up.

The ordering process seemed to go really well, got $10.00 off my fist online order. From there on it went downhill fast. Asked for and paid for same day delivery, it's getting late in the day and still hasn't arrived! Just about to chase up what is happening, and I get a text that the beer I ordered isn't in stock. It's not a fancy beer either! They say in the text that they can substitute the beer with another beer. NOPE, NOT HAPPENING! How can I order and pay for something that can't be supplied? Website needs to be updated to reflect actual stock being carried. Won't be making this mistake again! Only good thing to come out of it is the refund was quick!

- they would say that their online system would have issues when I called the help line...but I paid ... common...
-tried to pick it my self but was not allowed (Maroochydore shop without the sms that they would not provide as system online would have issues)- waited for 40min!
-one time they took my order and charged me but beer was not in stock!!!!!! now waiting 3rd day to get money back..... easy for them to charge but not that easy to provide or refund?

This website is a joke....a great way to lose customers. Tried logging in for over half an hour to place an order and couldn't go any further. Tried calling customer service & they just told me to use another browser, wouldn't take my order over the phone. Just lost my order, I'll go elsewhere!!!

I've only used them 5 times and each time was ordering online and picking up in store.
The website needs a lot of work as every time I have used it, there has always been some kind of issue. The most recent time, it wouldn't even allow me to log in so I had to purchase as a guest. It crashed mid payment but fortunately despite the error messages, my order had gone through as I got an email invoice.
Also, I have never once been notified by SMS or any other method when my order has been ready for pick up despite it being a basic requirement on t...

Their requirement of having to provide the credit card used for the online purchase when in store to collect is also odd as it is waived completely if you used any other method. It's also very inconvenient if the person who paid is not the one who picks up which happened to me the second time. I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish here as it would hardly stop fraud but it's something the company on a whole practices. That said, the service I have always received in person at my local store has been good and I have no complaints there. As the title says, I think the level of service you get is tied to the store you deal with, not the company as a whole. Ordered dozen Wines. Only 8 bottles received. No refund and unable to email online, expected to WRITE LETTER. Never again
Ordered the wrong wine by mistake, rang to exchange for the correct wine exactly the same price. Was told that they would not exchange, could not speak to a team leader because the phone consulate said he did not have a phone after repeated attempts to speak to a team leader I was hung up on. I had purchased 3 Doz. Bottles so I was somewhat annoyed, will never deal with them again
made an order of wines for easter celebrations 2 weeks prior to easter. on the thursday before good friday no wines had turned up so rang them and they told me they had sold out of the wines at my local warehouse but had sourced them from another but could not commit to the delivery before Easter and they had overlooked notifying me. The original order was to take 3 to 4 days So after 14 days still no wine and my easter wine budget was spent, so no celebrations with wine this year. made do with water . Very poor performaance. first choice not any more, last if at all
Because our company orders on line to collect in store, we are met with second class obtrusive behaviour from first choice staff at tge Southport store

Ordered 3x1 litre bottles of whiskey, waited a week for delivery but received 3x 700ml bottles. I contacted customer service who offered to refund the difference or have them pick up the wrong product and send out the correct ones. Asked how much the difference (as this would determine whether it was worthwhile to go through the trouble of returning) and was quoted a figure, agreed to that and asked them to proceed. I then opened one of the bottles only for customer service to come back the next day and tell me they quoted the refund amount on the wrong product and that I'd only get about 5 dollars back per bottle! Absolutely incompetent organisation and won't ever shop there again.
