Very frustrating and disappointing
I felt so hopeful when contacted First Home Buyers Direct just over 6 months ago - the company had great reviews, advertised affordable prices and quick build, if only i knew it would turn around into a complete disaster. won't have problems obtaining finance. And so I decided to build my new home with FHBD. I was put in contact with the recommended finance broker, provided all necessary documentation straight away. Here you go, I thought - mid next year I will be in my new house! Exciting! We found a block of land, I was happy with location and the price was reasonable. I secured the land with the deposit in the early days of December and paid a deposit to the builder to start preparing quotations. We discussed the specifications and I was offered a Luxury Package, with all the upgraded appliances, aircon, painting, stone bench tops, etc, etc, etc. Then we started going back and forth with different designs from the builder's gallery, which were not completely suitable for the block due to odd shape, this took almost all December, when suddenly I found out that garage should be on a different side of the block, which ment whatever modifications were done were no longer valid... Ok, i thought, just a bump on the road... I drew my own design, to fit the block and it was put through to get the drawings done. I'm obviously not a professional engineer and assumed the drawings would be different. However, I offered to discuss any necessary changes and advise my preferences, in case it could not be drawn exactly the way I wanted. This took another month(!) to do, "custom design", no one ever came back to me, discussed/questioned anything, when finally at the end of January 2020 I was given the preparation of plans agreement to sign. I met a different FHBD representative for the sign off. When it was presented the document it did not have any of the luxury inclusions, discussed originally and I questioned that and he inserted some of them in front of me, for some there were "provisions" done. This was the first time I saw the new design as well. It needed changing... "It could be done at pre-start" I was told. By that point I still have not heard anything from the finance broker and was worried, because the I had to provide the confirmation to the land company in the early February. I had been in contact with the original sales representative and he assured he'd sort it out with the land company to give me extension if needed. Had my pre-start done mid February and requested variations this took another three weeks, plust structural changes, which meant the price was changing. By this time I was loosing my patience, but eventually they prepared the building contract and it was signed mid February. In the end around 25th of Feb have received the message from the broker, saying he was requesting valuations. And this was the last time I've heard from him. I had occasional calls from the sales rep to "check on me" and I would constantly mention that the whole process takes forever! Minor changes, like changing the length of the interanal wall takes too long to update, and if a few changes requested, they would come back with one thing updated and the rest ignored and it goes for updates again and again I wait and wait for weeks.. I requested the pricing for the prestart specifications and still don't know because I would be getting partial information around every fortnight... So this lasted a month and a half. I still don't know what would be the final price of the house and I would never know. In the beginning of April, here I was - not able to finalise quotations as I had no pricing, no information on finace (approved, not approved or declined, or anything), land contract overdue by two months, have no confirmation if anything been submitted to the council for approval... I have had enough and I cancelled the land. I moved into a rental property In January, hoping to be in my own house mid year, this will definitely not happenning now... Being a single mom is hard enought, and realisation that I wasted 6 months and I was not even close to building stage, makes me completely gutted. But! This is not the end of the story - because now FHBD is chasing me to pay additional $3,300 (on top of $2,000 deposit) for the works they claim they have done and enormous anount of hours they spent on me.... Honest and trustworthy company to go with.
I am so happy with First Home Buyers Direct (FHBD)...I am 54years old, work as a carer, single and I never thought it would be possible to get my very first home here in Australia... thanks to Vikas expertise he made it happen, your the best. The builder Michael explained the building process clearly and seem well organised, such as permits readied for each stage of construction. Also the rest of team at FHBD were brilliant, Max was very trustworthy and patient. Unlike another building company I was just about to go with. The salesperson contradicted everything he said and kept ringing me and intimidating me.

Dreams Do Come True!
I lived my entire life, thinking and telling myself that i would never be able to afford to build a house. Roughly 2 years ago, my partner and I enquired with an opposition company to see if we were eligible to build a home under our financial circumstances. (little did we know just what was about to go down.) We were nervous, running in blind and had our concerns. This was the first home we have ever built and it was daunting at the start but all the staff especially our sales consultant Mr Vikas Goyal made the experience predominantly stress free. The workmanship was of high quality and we were able to identify and correct issues easily as vikas was very accessible and responsive to our queries and concerns. over priced, pathetic resolution skills
The relationship soured very rapidly with FHBD when Key start Valued the build at $60,000 over the median price range. the only feedback we received is that we added a front veranda for $4,000.00 and patio at $14,000.00 and we should look at the smaller block around the corner.
At no point did we receive a credit for not building the theatre room.
The upgrades were rather modest and not high end, which we later found that most other builders include them as standard.

She always emails back promptly so that you are never left hanging without any answers and has made the paperwork side of things enjoyable! Thank you Laura! Vikas Goyal.. the finance wizard. He stuck with me through thick and thin during the pre approval stage and liaised with my settlement agent so that everything was taken care of for me. We had an awesome experience building our first home with FHBD through Kees Kremers. First of all I would like to congratulate the management for having him in your team. He is absolutely a gem in your team! Without his perseverance and endurance, our dream house would not be possible. I have been declined by 3 other builders upon knowing I got a bad credit record. But Kees stayed with us like a family friend. He was there in difficult times. He never left us until we got the loan approval. He even helped us financially during the tough times. The construction went well and was delivered earlier than expected. FHBD really met our expectations. We are very happy! We love our new house!

Emma Philip & FHBD made my dream come true!
Emma Philip at FHBD has quite literally made a dream come true.
From the very get go everything has been explained in detail, obsticals taken care of and formal finance received!
I would also recommend Pari from Fuse Finance recommended by FHBD as they are very helpful and will actually care about helping you achieve your goal!
Build still yet to be completed however will update at a later date

Look no further _ FHBD is there..
Getting in touch with Kees, has been the best thing that happened to us. He helped us to turn our dream of having a house to a reality. He patiently listened to our requirements and tailored everything around them. Not only did he help in finding the perfect land he has helped us to design our house too. True to his commitment FHBD has done an excellent job. Not only FHBD remained in budget they managed to finish it before time. When ever we had any doubts or issues, Kees was there to resolve them with ease. We would definitely recommend Kees from FHBD. We can happily say that we have gained a true friend who has kept up to his word and looked after us well.

Builder was great, My house and land Specialist was impeccable!
Before i get into it I'd like to say a special thanks to the house and land Specialist god that I've now become friends with along the way, Cheers my man K.
1. My build has been managed very well so far.
2. The workmanship has been very well so far also.
3. We have had slight issues like you'd expect to encounter during construction but I've been satisfied with the outcomes thus far.
4. The final cost has come under budget which is awesome!

We have just had our finance approved and can’t wait for our slab to be laid. We have had nothing but Excellent customer service from Kees.
With this being our first home we could not have done this without Kees who was with us every step of the way reassuring us and making sure we were happy at all times. I would like to thanks to Vikas Goyal, who guided us in a very professional way,he is honest, humble,polite and problem solving.Lot of times we have requested him to visit after hours,which he did,to discuss about our new home.
My friend referred me to First home buyers and with Vikas Goyal. I had few issues with the builder but again thanks to Vikas who handle the situation amicably with the best solution.

Hello, I’ll start off with how our building experience had been, prior to Kees Kremer and the first home buyers team taking over our build. As you may have guessed, our building experience with the previous building company was nothing short of a nightmare. Having everything you could think of go wrong, and we hadn’t got to site yet.

tead, which by this point my wife and I were told by the initial company we would be going to site within a few months (which was far from true). We decided to give it a go and see who could get us to site quicker as we had been trying to get our house built for two years at this point. I was and still am impressed by how quickly and professional Kees Kreemer and the team went through all of the previous company’s paper work (which was an absolute mess) and had a finished product, turn key house to sign off on with fixed prices on site works, which no other builder we had spoken to was willing to do as we are building in a rocky area. Another notable improvement between Kees and the team versus our previous builder is how they undertake business. I felt as though with the previous builder I was spoon feeding them on how to build a house, (and by no means have I any experience on how to build a house) any time an issue would arise I would have to research or ask around to find a solution. Where as with Kees and the team if there was a problem I would be given a choice of solutions each with a different outcome, so even when there was an issue (which have been small at best) I have still had full control on the outcome. In my option the best part about first home buyers direct is the way that they handle their customers, so myself doing fifo and my wife working with two small children at home. It has been a relief to have Kees backing our corner as we feel that we can call him anytime about anything that may be troubling us about our build. Even now with our slab just going down Kees gave us a call to see how everything has going ensuring that it is going smoothly and still encourages us to call if anything is or has been troubling us with the build. Which again is more than what we can say about the previous builder who repeatedly couldn’t get my wife’s name correct, in person or on emails. As well as constantly changing our point of contact till we couldn’t work out who was who.1 comment

1. My build was well managed.
2.issues were well handled and very satisfied with the out come.
3. Finally cost was cheaper than the estimate.
In summary, I would like to give a special thanks to Vikas Goyal for taking so much time and effort getting our home exactly as how we wanted. I put a deposit down of $2500 thats all i was told i needed, the mortgage brooker i was given was rushy with all my paper work. He put my application through and it was declined. He then come to me told me i needed to do a list of things that seemed far from what i was told in the begining. I told him to leave as i needed to think things through.. I asked if i could have my deposit back and thats when i was told i wasnt getting anything back. Am i able to get my deposit back?
