Purchased from Good Guys Capalaba Qld. Received yesterday. Great service all round, delivered, unpacked, installed. Big old fridge taken away. High set house so lots of stairs to navigate, no trouble at all, which was great. So far so good! Love the lighting, lots of shelf height adjustments, great wine bottle keepers, lots of room! Will install the icemaker and water options soon. Very quiet running, so far. Got cold so quickly and love the beeper if doors left ajar.

dge, which was expected. I love the big, long handles. No smudges on the stainless steel door and handles are just perfect for grabbing at any height. Getting used to glass shelves, old fridge had the wired ones but doesn't take long to adjust. Might put a little caravan draw liner on the shelve storing all the glass jars though. Love the pull out crisper draws with bottom full glide for both crispers together, they just glide effortlessly even when full and easy to get out too. Only other wish I had was for a Deli roll out section too, but I gave that up for the other benefits of this fridge. I simply put in a shallow try on a shelf for ease of access and the fridge door has two large closed clear top sections for cheeses, etc. Totally happy so far. Can't wait to see the internal freezer ice maker in action. We read so many reviews, checked out so many fridges, the only other one I wished for was a Mitsubishi but didn't really need it for another $1000 or so. Next time, perhaps but hopefully, that will be a long way off. Took out the 5 year warranty plan. Have to say the Good Guys and Harvey Norman were very, very helpful. Bought from Good Guys as they had one in stock. Tip: Ask about seniors discount, it's good! We happily await our delivery bonus of wine from Fisher and Paykel! Happy fridge hunting! If anything untoward develops with the fridge, will keep you posted. Noise: hubby heard it a little yesterday running but it is brand new and getting itself sorted out. Today, I can't hear anything much at all, so very happy. Perhaps when icemaker gets installed but that is to be expected. Love the light on the water dispenser too. Electric touch controls inside fridge are easily accessible and easy to use. Will try out the quick bottle chill later when I read the booklet! I have stocked the vege draws and testing out the different controls for fruit compared to lettuce, etc. We chose the bottom freezer option with opening door and glide out freezer compartments. Hubby didn't like french doors so we settled for standard big top door and I am glad now as if I walk to a fridge with a big platter, would be annoying to have to open two doors while balancing the food platters, etc.4 comments

Great Fridges
Fisher and Paykel have the best appliances including fridges. Always very reliable. We have a really old one in the shed and a newer model in the house. Nothing ever seems to go wrong with any of our F&P appliances. Really happy with it and would definitely recommend to anyone in the market

Good but don't like anti-slam mechanism!
We bought our new fridge about a month ago. I love the space on the shelves in the fridge & door compartments.
The freezer is a little small for my liking. Would have preferred a slightly larger freezer especially the top freezer drawer space. Also the fridge crisper area doesn't seem to utilise all the space that is available at the bottom of the fridge and this is another area I need more space. But I knew these things when I bought it, so it hasn't really bothered me.
The thing I find most frustrating is that the door doesn't close unless...Read more
I slam it! I called customer service & they said they thought it had an 'anti-slam' mechanism (they suggested making sure the fridge is tilted slightly backwards to assist in closing but this didn't help).. Seems crazy to me. With my old fridge I could just lightly push it & it would close. Now it hits the 'anti-slam' mechanism and bounces back open! There wasn't any mention I could find of this 'feature' in the product description or specs. I definitely recommend buyers to be on the look out for how a door closes (using the force you are accustomed to) and test door closing in the shop so there are no surprises.

Good Freezer but terribly thin stainless steel!
As the heading suggests the stainless steel on the doors are so thin if you accidentally push it shut without using the handle it dents. One other thing to note is the freezer net capacity bears no resemblance to the actual usable capacity which if measured is around 80 litres!

Ice is nice
This fridge has served us very well since we bought it back in 09. Since then we have moved twice so it has been subjected to a bit of abuse, however it is still going strong!
I love the ice maker and water dispenser, and the layout of the fridge seemed far better than other fridge layouts we were looking at.
The water dispenser could be allot faster but that would be my only complaint.
ice, water, space
waiting for the glass to fill

Excellent fridge, great features
I purchased this fridge 2 months ago after having issues with an Electrolux fridge and am exceedingly happy I did so. This is the first time I have had an upside down fridge where the freezer is at the bottom and the fridge is at the top and I wasnt sure if I would like it that way, but I really do. You tend to use the fridge a whole lot more than the freezer and because the freezer is so well organised, it's no problem.
It also does not make much noise when it's operating, especially late at night when fridges tend to make that burring nois...Read more
e - this one is pretty quite, surprisingly and that is a big plus. The light inside the fridge is so bright, that no matter how dark it is outside (even if you don't turn on the lights in the kitchen), you can still see inside the fridge perfectly. The silver stainless steel exterior makes it look really stylish and will fit well in any kitchen to give it that modern look. The shelving inside the fridge is really well designed - inside the main compartment and the door, plus the freezer has three different sections, so you're not just lumping your food on top of each other in the freezer (it's very very well organised and designed). The only small things I have noticed (which are minor detractions) are: 1. The vegetable crisper sections have to be both opened at the same time - I would prefer to be able to open one at a time, but I think many fridges are like this, so it's not really a flaw as such, but rather a design feature that many are using 2. The fridge moves forward whenever I open the fridge compartment without holding my leg on the freezer, to keep it still. I now do this automatically, so the fridge doesnt move, but it is a bit of a pain to have to do2 comments
Zaklina, try adjusting the leveling legs on the front of your fridge to stop it moving.
Thank Mazzie_Star! I will check that out. It could be that they're tilted a little too far one way.

Terrible
Fridge was not packaged very will so the plastic made a lot of damage in transit. Got a replacement and it had the same damage this time though the freezer draw would not open properly and the water was leaking. Whilst i'm still waiting now for new doors the calcium in the water has badly marked the freezer door so they both have to be replaced.
It was the only water and ice fridge for the little space that I had
besides all the problems i don't like that the light on the water doesn't stay on like most other fridges

Great Fridge
I've had the F&P E522BRXFDU fridge for just over a year now and I'm very happy with it. There is plenty of space for large bottles and extra wide platters; its great for when your entertaining and need to fit lots of things. I love the auto icemaker which dumps into a bucket in the freezer, and the filtered water in the door is slightly chilled. The glass shelves are easy to clean, and the fridge door doesn't show fingerprint marks easily. It feels sturdy and durable, works really well and it looks great. The only problem i've had is a plastic ...Read more
clip on the door hinge broke off recently but F&P customer service was suprisingly good (I've read mixed reviews) and a repairman was sent to fix it the same day. If I had to be very picky, I would like to be able to set the temperature by degrees celsius instead of the up/down control. Also, its sometimes awkward getting things out of the freezer draws when they are full. 4 stars from a happy customer. Internal ice bucket, space for extra large bottles in the door, wine rack, glass shelves, appearence I would have liked to be able to set the temperature by degrees celsiusSimilar opinion? Excellent - Does The Job
I have had mine for nearly two years now and havent had a problem with it. Everything works well. The LCD suits me as it is easy to use and I am not one of those "read the instructions" people. I wouldn't hesitate to strongly recommend this product to others. Shop around online as prices vary wildly.
Excellent - no problems at all - does the job.

Excellent
I purchased the fridge due to the internal ice maker. I dont have room for a fridge with the double doors to have the ice dispenser so the internal ice maker is a great solution.
I read comments about fan noise and dripping water dispenser and I have not found any of these problems.
Looks great, water and ice feature are excellent. Shelves and drawers are on good runners and easy to use. The wine rack is also a great feature
Have not found anything I dont like about the fridge, even after having it for 3 months and the fridge experiencing the christmas family season

Nothing to fault!!!
Bought this Fridge about 18 months ago. Ice maker is great, water dispenser is great with a 3 year old that can help herself (there is a lock if you don't want them to use it) Easy to use temperature controls. nice and big and serves us perfectly. this is the 2nd Fisher and Paykel fridge we have bought. Don't get the stainless steel model (too hard to keep clean) we got the satin (or pewter i think it is called) finish which resist marks and hardly needs cleaning.
Only thing is the vegetable crisper cover is not easy to put in place after clea...Read more

Good
Overall I'm happy with the fridge itself, but if the water unit doesn't work properly then its been a waste of extra money getting this feature.
Love the sleek design of this fridge and the fact the water dispenser doesn't take up any door room.
I am disappointed in the water dispenser though, it seems to leak a lot! I've flushed over 6L of water through it to try and remove the air pockets, but it still doesn't seem to make a differnce. Will be calling a service technician to come out and fix this.

The water dripping was a warranty job. It has been completely fixed and can now say with complete confidence that this is a brilliant fridge!

I contacted Fisher & Paykel customer service and spoke to a customer service representitive. They were helpful, courteous and arranged a service repairman to see my fridge within 48hours. When the Serviceman arrived and heard the noise, he knew immediately that the noise wasn't normal. He checked a small fan in the internal rear panel of the fridge unit. The serviceman said that the fan had been packed incorrectly and was creating unecessary noise. He was right and the noise stopped instantly. eous and prompt, an unfortunate manafacturing error that marred an otherwise good expirience so far. Water Dispenser takes up no room on internal door side, Looks great, Sleek and Slimline Handles. EZ Kleen Finish so easy to clean, just wipe with a damp cloth, leaves no streaks. Plenty of room for shelving options From new this fridge would make a whirring fan noise everytime I shut the door. This fan noise would continue for in excess of an hour, a loud whirring. It was distracting and intrusive. Frige creaks and groans alot.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad
Disappointed. Dispensed water comes out quite slow. Water is not chilled, even when left for longer periods of time. Ice draw in freezer can be a bit clumsy to access, and because it is open to the air in the fridge/freezer, the ice absorbs smells and becomes yucky.
Slimline filtered water dispenser is a nice idea. Looks good.
Water dispenser and ice maker (which is why I chose this fridge) do not live up to their claims

Have you contacted F/P Customer Service to discuss the issue? Maybe it is a simple thing. Maybe air in the filter maybe lime scale blocking the tap filter? Maybe a setting needs to be changed on the LCD screen. Good luck with it.

The compressor died at 6months
Initially we were pleased with our sharp looking new fridge, then we were shocked when our food started spoiling after a mere 6 months. Customer service with F&P has been disappointing and unresponsive. Fortunately we purchased the five year warranty, I think we're going to need it. I wish I'd done more homework on the company before I bought such an expensive fridge.
It's quiet.
Very poor customer service and quality control of their appliances.

FP Refrigerator E522BRXFDU
Worst refrigerator ever!! Only 3 years old and sooo many problems and ridiculously expensive to fix! Not only that but not many appliance repair places will fix them or have access to their parts. Horrible experience. It stopped working, no cold air, wasted tons of food. The compressor was broken, there was a freon leak, I can go on and on. Its practically new and it the motor is super loud too! Save yourself the trouble and get a Kenmore or GE or any other brand but this piece of junk.
Looks Nice enough i guess
No cooling, expensive, no warranty

I love my fridge!
This is easily the best fridge I have ever had. No way did I think I would ever spend $2000 on a fridge, and even my wife was suspicious, but she loves it as well.
Firstly, the water dispenser is awesome. Chilled water on demand. In fact, the LCD display is very easy to use, however, we just generally use it for fast chilling of drinks and making ice. I'm sure there are a lots more features we don't use.

t. Doesn't bother me though. Lots of room on the shelves and the door. In fact, the fridge is never completely full, although, the freezer generally is. The main reason I bought this fridge was because it was probably the only one at the time with a single door and a plumbed drink dispenser. It needed to fit into the fridge slot in our new house.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So far, excellent.
Have had this fridge for a few weeks now. Looks great, easy to clean fingermarks. Really bought it because of the fridge size. Fits much more than my old side by side which was around the same total size. Can see everything easily.
Water dispenser and ice maker are great. Water is cold and is easy to use for kids - the availability of chilled, filtered water makes it easy for all of us to drink more of it. Doesn't dispense ice but makes it then dumps it in a bin in the freezer regularly. However, no need for a plumber, if you are at...Read more
all handy you can hook it up yourself. Ice maker can be easily turned off at night if the noise annoys you but it doesn't bother us. Electronic controls such as turning ice on and off, different temp settings for fridge and freezer, etc are on the outside of the door and are very easy to use. I like the way the freezer opens with a swinging door rather than a pull out bin, then you pull the shelves out. Makes it easy to find things compared to the pull out bins. For a family you will need another freezer though, in my opinion, it's not that big. But the purpose of buying this unit is the fridge space, which obviously takes from the freezer, which is what I wanted. Negatives - There is no meat/deli tray so I use a plastic container. Also, there are no retractable shelves. Would be helpful for when extra space is needed for milk, soft drink type bottles, although the door does hold quite a few bottles of that size.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Second one on the way!
We recently renovated our kitchen and purchased the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator purely on looks - it complimented the new decor perfectly.
As an afterthought we had the water dispenser and ice-maker connected, thinking we would never use such a gimmick. How wrong were we? It is fantastic! So convenient to have chilled water and fresh ice blocks available 24/7 and guests can help themselves and not get in your way at the sink.
Oh, and the fridge is great too - so much so that our daughter and son-in-law have ordered one for their soon to be completed kitchen.
Stylish and great features

Never had a problem with my fridge after 4 years. I would recommend it to anyone. It is doing its job perfectly, is silent and great looking. I love its glass shelves, easy to clean and robust. Fruits and vegies drawers are large and you can choose the level of humidity you need according to what is in. The freezer part is brilliant. 3 drawers, top one with a separation, so you can sort your products and find them easily.

I took out and cleaned the evaporation tray at back. Disconnected water to replace flter, now after approx 4 hrs the fridge trips the power. If fridge is disconnected and then re-connected straight away-trips power again. If left overnight and switch on again in the morning will work fine for another 4 hrs-repeating same. Any suggestions?

Sorry Greg, I have no answer as yet. I have the same issue that has occurred to my E522B which keeps tripping the RCD. I have tested the heater element and it appears OK for the reading of this model (150 ohms). Did you end up finding the cause to your fault.
