Appliances shopping
While renovating our home, we decided to shop at HN QV. Their customer service was fantastic, they price matched and gave us extended warranty, and organised delivery despite us living on the second floor. Later we had to use the warranty, and just as excellent service.

Mistreated. 0 score for customer service.
Penrith store are terrible!
I was asked "Go to this counter to get your item"
The man then said "What do you want" I said "An online order"
He said "Well, you need something for me- if you don't have anything I can't help ya" *Clicking his fingers at me*
I had no idea what he was talking about. He then said "Hurry up, you need something for me"
I told him to settle down then realised he means an order number. I went to produce this and he yelled over my shoulder at another person "Can you help this guy" and then he walked away.
I just walked out of the store. It then took 5 BUSINESS DAYS to get someone to reply on Whatsapp.
I honestly can't believe how bad the service is at Harvey Norman. It was the worst retail experience of my life.

Lied to about available software
I was sold expensive antivirus software when I bought a laptop. Was told it wasn't available for just one device when it is. Also wasn't told about less expensive Office option. Was fobbed off when I complained.
I believe these lies and subterfuge are caused by low hourly rates and a dependance on commissions. I put my trust in the sales person. Never again and never again at Harvey Norman.

Product Replaced even after supplier declined damage was caused by them
I have been buying most products from Harvey Norman mainly because they have modern and the latest showroom facilities and their display ideas are second to none.
This review relates to their Plumbing and Bathroom Division at their flagship store in Auburn. The service I received was extremely good and the prices were competitive and I was extremely satisfied with the bulk discounts I got from them as I bought all my bathroom, laundry, kitchen and toilet fixtures from them. I used their services for an owner builder House Project recently.

watch out for installation costs!!!
we bought a Bosch cooktop at Harvey Norman in Bell Street Preston recently.
Happy with price, around $1000, and service, expecting installation costs of $3-500
BUT, the installation costs by the gas fitter sent by HN were astronomical: $1910!!!
So beware.
I suggest get written quote from installer before proceeding

Forget Click and collect for Harvey Norman Oxley
Don't bother with Harvey Norman click and collect. I ordered a keyboard and mouse using click and collect from HN Oxley. As I enter door a sign on the counter says collect your click and collect order here! Perfect! I enquired at the desk and was told I would have to see one of the floor staff. I explained I had received an email saying my order was ready and was again told very forcefully that I would have to see the floor staff. The floor staff were all busy! So i waited several minutes until someone free approached me. I gave my details ag...Read more
ain and then waited at least five minutes. While waiting I located the item I wanted on the shelf thinking it would have been quicker to come in and grab it from the shelf. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the person who retrieved the order and was told I was being unreasonable! Why offer click and collect if it is a slower service than normal? In these days of COVID 19 I wrongly thought click and collect would get me in and out in seconds! Wrong! My message to HN is don't offer a click and collect service if you can't deliver on it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Even if they give you for Free DO NOT TAKE
I purchased a recliner, the delivery person had an argument overtaking the box inside of the room when I insisted to talk to the store, he started abusing and the conversation went into a physical scuffle, the worst part is Harvey Norman's customer service, they are rats, they did nothing, kept promising and not even a single person called.
This is a company with ZERO customer service, all the stores are a franchise, they do not care how you get treated.
Even if the store staff insults you, the delivery people abuse you and bash you.
Trust me, they are useless, I would pay more even if I have to, to buy from another store, but not from them.
Not anymore. I hope your store closes down, you get into losses, your business finishes.

Quality Control Non-Existent
We recently purchased a dining table, hall table and entertainment unit (manufactured by Claremont) from Harvey Norman at Port Macquarie.
The furniture was reasonably expensive costing about $4,500.
When we received the furniture and unpacked it, we thought it was second hand! While the dining table was OK, the entertainment unit and hall table had heaps of marks and scratches.
To their credit, HN picked them up the next day and arranged replacements.
4 weeks later we received the replacements and were dismayed to find marks and scratches!

Selling underspeced items!!
Bough a Lenovo idea centre 27 at hoppers crossing store. Specs were i7, 1Tb harddrive with windows home for $2600. After coming home while registering the product the warranty it showed for 9 months only. Also the same product listed on Lenovo.com for less price and also the spec was 1Tb +2b hard drive with windows professional. basically looks like Harvey norman is underspecing the items and then selling for higher price. Not happy with the purchase!!

Customer service - Aubrey at Coffs Harbour
We have bought a few items from Harvey Norman Coffs Harbour over the years (and from competitors while we were away and having a house built). We have dealt a few times with a gentleman called Aubrey in appliances. We have found he is great to deal with - always quick with a solution for any problems we have had.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff
Staff at the store was approachable, e and friendly, answered any questions or concerns that I had in relation to recent laptop purchase. Downside was the amount of upwelling that went on until I could take my item to the register. Other than that was great service and great products

Damaged Furniture
Takes 3 months to receive dining table, chairs and buffet. Once delivered, the doors on the buffet which comes fully assembled don't align. Can't affix frame to one of the chairs because the holes don't line up. Harvey Norman will "arrange" someone to have a look but can't give a date. Apparently waiting 3 months isn't long enough, they have their money now. Complaints department don't ring back. So much for good quality furniture and customer service.

Never again
Hadn't been in the Penrith store for years due to a bad experience. Decided to give them a second chance, bought a washing machine, made the transaction and then told sorry, it's a 6 week wait. They had my money and the tone of the sales person changed immediately. 6 weeks of hand washing, never again

My order hasn't been delivered after 9 weeks... I am tiered waiting and want to cancel it now. What are my options ?
5 answers
You need to talk to them about the delay and find out if they are waiting on the product to be delivered to them to on deliver to you. They may have it stuck on the dock. You would be entitled to cancel I am sure but then you may have to wait a while for your new order. Talking to them would be the best resolution
Will I get my deposit back? Or they are entitled to deduct 20%
The logical thing to do would be to contact the store asking here wont give you the answer
