It's good and fast and useful
This phone can download a quite a few apps and working fast.
Once It touched a lot of water then start to play for a month, it kept turning on and off for an hour everyday. After that month it's amazingly good again.
Even I dropped a few times on the street it still no damage at all.

Great Value
I've had this phone for a year now and find its great for what I need and I didn't pay a stupid price! I got so sick of paying what is just an exorbitant prices for iPhones and Samsung phones. Camera's ok, storage isn't that great but a SIM can be added. Charged up every night and iI does me for the day. You just have to make sure the cord is inserted properly as it's not a good precise fit. I've dropped it a few times and held my breath but the screen didn't break. :)
I'm mostly very happy with this little phone. It's value for money. I've saved heaps. Definitely recommend. :)

Cheap but great
Got it from Coles at 99 bucks. Generally, it works really well. Battery last 2 days under the light usage. The screen is big enough for watching videos. However, the camera is not very good. It's ok when you take a phone outdoor and with much light, but it's pretty bad when you use it in the room.

It's pretty decent.
It runs well, super quick, and it stores a lot of data. The only down side is the camera isn't that great (avid picture sharer). I use it as my Spotify phone, since the battery life is super great and I can download albums and all my playlist with little difficulty.

Great cheap phone
I bought this device last minute from The Good Guys after I smashed my regular device, and it has performed reliably during the time I've been using it. Battery life is fantastic. Dual-SIM function is awesome to wield two phone numbers. The screen, camera and processor is average. Great as a backup-phone but I would definitely spend more if you are purchasing a main mobile phone to be used everyday.

Not Terrible, Not Great
like any device it has its positives and negatives. very short battery span, poor touch screen response and low quality camera and old firmware it also has very annoying storage issues. the positives would be the cheap price and strong casing that is about all I can think of at this time.

Price Perfect
I found this phone on the bottom shelf in a Post Office display case for $149.00. I am amazed at how it works for its price. If you are after a "smart phone" then the Huawei Y5 is great value for under $200.00.
It has front and back cameras.
Sure, It doesn't have the best megapixel camera, but still takes great pictures. Having a removable battery is an added bonus, as a flat battery does not mean extra costs on top of battery replacement.
I basically down-graded to this from an expensive HTC and I am happy with the Y5.

Brilliant little phone
I bought this phone on special for about $129 at my local post office as a quicky cheap emergency replacement 16 months ago. I thought it would be temporary (like a backup phone) but we ended up staying together.
Its really top of the line for a budget phone. An sd card will expand the storage and at well over 16 months old, she still holds a pretty good charge. The cameras not too shabby for the price either. It is also very user friendly.
However there are 2 outdated unsupported apps preinstalled that will ruin the phone if used or updated. Touchpal update contains adware and built in browser is outdated and unsupported by android. Both caused problems and had to be disabled.
Go for the newer model. Much cleaner.

Great for a cheap phone
Mine is the Y5 2017 version.
I have had this phone for about a month and have been pleasantly surprised how good it is. I bought it from Aust Post for $159 as a fill in while my S7 edge had to be sent away for repairs. There is no doubt the S7 is a better phone, but is ~ six times the cost.
This phone isn't too bad at all - in fact, I would say that it is amazingly good for the price.
The camera is not too bad - way better than my Note 3 that was my previous phone to the S7. It is no S7 though!
It's phone range seems to be good - certainly better than my old note 3. It gets data in 4G - as good as any top line phone.

Quality Budget Mobile Handset
For under $200 the Y5 2017 is great phone.
Pros: 5" Screen - excellent quality for my music videos at 720 x 1280
Expandable from 16gb to an extra 128GB through Micro SD Card. 2 GB RAM is more than adequate to run all programs. Combined with Dual SIM and Headphone Jack & USB. Sound quality is great through built in Mic and speaker. Looks and feels good to hold. Bought a Samsung (genuine) HS330 Earbuds with Mic locally for $25 for hands free - feedback is crystal clear for receivers and for me. Many manufacturers are moving away from Headpho...Read more

A neat one!
Personally I would say this is a neat smartphone. Cameras are good enough to take some nice pictures. It is also good for playing music as well.
Their limitations are the memory and battery. The phone could become hot if playing games for a long time or not to response sometimes (due to errors I think). If you need a basic smartphone for calling, music and taking some photos, this would be a good one with low price!

Clear screen and good for backup/toy
I bought it from Coles when Vodafone has cashback offer. Basically I got it for free. I was surprised that the screen was clear, phone was fast enough for browsing internet, reading news, play music and video. Excellent toy for kids and I don't worry about if it cracks or lose. Good value for the phone.

Was alright
My phone is crappie keeps switching off on it's own and the battery goes flat fast I've only had it for 7 months. I wish they would give a new one for free because I deserve it I probably will not be getting one of these phones again no way.

OK while it lasted
My daughter got one for Christmas and it was the best phone she could do heaps with it, but it won't even charge up now or turn on. It's only 6 months old. The battery would heat up when charging or if you where on the phone for more than 15 minute's.
Then one night nothing......

Satisfactory for basic use
For its price (<$100), Huawei Y5 does the job for basic use e.g. messaging, calls, simple apps; and is good value
Good, compact size. 4GX allows fast speeds, cameras on the front and back
At times, touch screen is not as responsive and apps are sluggish
Those wanting something powerful and capable of running many apps should look at another phone model
Overall, satisfactory for basic needs. Perhaps good for beginner's or those with low needs from mobile phone

Great for simple use.
I was an Apple only user and after a somewhat frustrating run with their expensive phones I got the courage to go buy this Huawei for $84.
Sure it has very small built in memory but other than that, It's totally worth the little money it costs.
Battery is average, one charge a day does me.
It has the option to add more memory so I'm really struggling to fault it.
GREAT CHEAP BUY FOR SIMPLE TASKS!

Adequate
Got the Huawei Y560 for a good price at Coles when it was on offer. It is more than adequate for a beginner user of smartphone as I only use the unit's basic functions. It is a bit heavier than I expected though, but I think the iPhone is heavy too.

How do you remove the small icon on the right corner of Huawei y5?
1 answer
I do not know.
I had so much trouble with this phone that I got rid of it.
I will never buy another Huawai phone.
Delwyn H.asked
When I add a page to my homescreen, it puts a little icon in the right bottom corner of the big icon, showing the chrome logo, or where ever I'm adding it from, if that makes sense. How do I remove that small icon? It's annoying and ruins the "look" of my screen. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with my phone. In the end I gave up. The phone is a piece of junk. I have given it away and replaced it with a refurbished Samsung S7. No more problems
Don't blame ya! I had a Samsung s5 before this, that met an unfortunate end, and it was the best phone I've ever had. Would of bought another if I could of found one. This phone has/does so many stupid unnecessary issues.
