I can not recommend these guys enough. From the very first day they were upfront and honest about the entire process. I have had the same group of people look after me from the very beginning and can not thank them enough. Perfect choice for our first home.
Being first time home buyers, we were wary of the process of building. Safe to say our apprehension was significantly reduced throughout the building process with Hudson Homes. Being one of the only building companies that have a large range of inclusions (light fittings and flooring included!) we received excellent communication from start to finish with Frank Maclean, Chenise Dale and our supervisor Nathan who we could not fault.
We are so happy with our finished product that we can’t wait to show it off to our family and friends.

Service I can trust! Highly Recommend!
I have just started my build with Hudson Homes and their customer service is outstanding! I have designed my house from the ground up. Being such a perfectionist, a lot of stress and sleepless nights have gone into my design, as anyone would go through when building their "forever home". I have weekly phone calls with my Site Manager, Wayne to provide updates. If there is an issue he always has a solution. There are going to be delays, builders cannot predict the weather nor are they magicians. It's how they can get back on track to meet their deadline. I personally believe YOU need to be actively involved when building your home. Open communication is the key. I would highly recommend Hudson Homes!

For anyone who is looking to build in the central coast area or Newcastle we can't recommend Hudson Homes enough. We would like to thank our supervisor Mark who has been fantastic through the build process and our customer service consultant Flavia who really made us feel at ease the whole way through our build.
Having completed our new home we are ecstatic with the quality and follow up from Hudson who even checked up with us to make sure we had settled in well.

Perfection! A Big Thank you to Hudson Homes!
From the very start of our build process the whole team at Hudson were an absolute delight to work with. Our colour selection process was very exciting and the interior designer helped us choose a fantastic scheme which was also within our budget.
When we got down to the build process the customer service team were always there to answer our questions and keep us up to date with the build process which was great.
The finished product looks excellent and we cant wait until we get the chance to build again through Hudson.

Would never build with Hudson again
It’s taken 1 year start to build my property from last February,but I haven’t got the key yet for this single storey house on the small block. The customer service manager and site supervisor has been changed several times and sometime no response at all. I pay $2500 for my home loan interest every month, but I ask for delay reason and delay fine for my project many months ago, Hudson Home has no reply at all. I believe it’s break the HIA contract and I have to contact Fair Tradings NSW. Finally, don’t trust Hudson Home. I spend more money and time to collaborate with Hudson Home.

Worst Experience Of My Life
Well, its been some months now since “completion” of my Hudson Home. I deliberately waited for the red mist to subside so that emotion did not influence my review, but even now its still hard.
In short, my home was completed 2 months late, communication was only initiated when a progress payment was sought and on handover an independent building inspection revealed three pages of defects ranging from minor to major. Many are still not resolved and never will be, either because it’s impossible (eg. misssing expansion joint in brickwork) or b...Read more
ecause Hudson flatly refuse to accept there is a problem. Some of the defects are hard to believe- bridged termite barriers, unprotected electrical and data cabling to name just two. The general standard of work is appalling and Hudson’s care factor was nil. Their attitude is best summed up by the driveway situation- the contract clearly states “Coloured Concrete Driveway”. Apparently this means plain (uncoloured) concrete, PAINTED! When questioned about this, the Hudson supervisor’s response was “that’s how we do ‘em all”. He was hostile almost to the point of violence to the independent inspector when a joint walk-through to “confirm” rectification work, much of which was either badly done or not at all). Eventually you give up and get on with life and they know this. My biggest mistake was trusting a financial advisor whom I later discovered was actually an agent for Hudson. I estimate I’m out of pocket $10k because of extra interest and costs resulting from delayed and faulty construction. The long term cost will probably far exceed this as shoddy work rises to the surface. My advice to anyone contemplating building a home is to buy your block and find a reputable independent builder. If you must sign up to a House/Land package, make sure their name doesn’t start with “H”.1 comment

Most recently, after our land was settled on 20th of April, we were advised that the final plans will be ready by 11th May. But once again, the plans have not been delivered.

Never build with Hudson Homes....
Hudson homes took one year to build our single storey house. After waiting for one year the quality of the works is very poor. We were handed over our house 2 weeks ago and we are still chasing the Supervisor to fix things in our house and the supervisor doesn't even respond to our messages and phone calls anymore. Throughout the process we had to deal with 3-4 supervisors as they kept on assigning different supervisor every few months. We never got any consistent answer from the Customer service Manager. Finally they say it is fixed term contract and they pay liquidated damages. But with weird calculations of rain days and their stability days which they put in contract, you hardly get any money back and we are out of pocket paying on the loans for one year till the build is completed. Very unhappy with workmanship, quality of the build and customer service. Our Building Manager will be in contact with you to arrange an on-site meeting to guide you through the last remaining items that need to be addressed. You should feel reassured that, as a company, Hudson Homes are always committed to addressing such items and always attends to rectification required both professionally and promptly. In relation to the guarantee and liquidated damages you have raised, we keep accurate records to ensure that any delays are properly fulfilled to our customers and, as such, all of the rainfall data is obtained directly from the records of the Bureau of Meteorology. Once calculated and all accumulative days are determined, payment is made into your nominated account within 5 business days. I am more than happy to guide you through the calculations as set out in your HIA contract. We respect your right to submit an online review and, although a little disappointed at the extremely low rating given that the matters you raised are relatively minor and we have already committed to rectify, we're sorting through your concerns as a high priority. Very helpful, very happy clients so far
Customer service was 10/10 with our last customer relations manager, she was Very efficient with returning emails and organising everything. We haven’t started our build yet but is withinn 20 days of the start date.
Our customer relations manager Ebony was such a pleasure to work with, its to bad we didn’t get her from the start and that we ended up with a very unprofessional and unreliable project manager. (I have been told he has left the company since).

Great Work and Service
Hudson built for us in 2015. The process went smoothly, we were remarkably well informed throughout the process. Great documentation was provided and all necessary certifications. Due to a delay with the bank on our end, the handover keys of keys would have been delayed. However the GM at the time jumped in and waived / approved several processes to prevent anyone from being without a roof for a weekend in good faith. Over 2 years later we have come to appreciate that Hudson not only had great service they have done great quality workmanship. There simply has not been any issues with the building outside to be expected maintenance.

Happy with Hudson
We have been dealing with Hudson Homes for a number of years it has been overall a very enjoyable experience.
We had purchased a block of land prior to deciding on building with Hudson homes.
We were waiting for the land developer to register our land which was supposed to happen within a month of us purchasing the land, it took about 3.5 years.
During this time we visited ALL of the display homes from all companies in the hunter area. We eventually decided on Hudson homes after seeing the quality of the finish on all of their display...Read more

We dealt with 3 different consultants, as the first one rushed us through our tender and was later fired for not doing his job correctly and the next went over the tender with us and hassled us to pay our deposit or else prices will go up. Our colour consultant was lovely but weeks later had to ask us to confirm all our upgrades and our carpet colour name from memory as she hadn't noted them down anywhere. over. [name removed] was horrible to deal with and I suggest asking for a different 'relations manager' if you are given him. He hassled us for our final payment and made excuses as to why some things couldn't be finished prior to handover, and promised to have any issues rectified as soon as possible. We have been in the house 5 months now and we're still waiting for some of these issues to be fixed, one being the incorrect light switches to which [name removed] told us "you will need to contact the electricians as they don't work for us." Update 03/02/18 I jumped in the roof today while installing fans to make sure i hit the beam and noticed that there was no insulation.. while looking around i noticed that it was still in rolls and all laying up in the back corner of the roof. Explains why the house has beem ridiculously hot. I also noticed the antenna splitter hadn't been connected, explains why I couldn't get any channels on my t.v's. Do you check anything Hudson or just hand it over once you've hit your "28 week guarantee"?2 comments

Amazing Service
Have had amazing service with Hudson Homes. John has gone above and beyond to make sure we are aware of every step being taken. he has been kind enough to take time out of his own weekend to walk us through the house and the build quality has been second to none. So much easier than I expected!
Our frame is up! Our new home is beginning to take shape. We have found this whole process very stress free. The colour consultant is extremely helpful and has a great eye. All the staff are just lovely. Overall, we're very happy so far and we just can't wait to see the finished product and to move into our new home!

may I ask why my case delayed all the time and have different answers from your company and other departments. my single story house hasn't been approved by council yet from August, but my neighbor has finished 2 stories house. I tried to find out the reason when I went to the council office. It was so sad to know your company didn't provide the information which council asked for from August. Then I chased again by 5/12/2017, I was told you would provide all the information on that day. However, I go to council today and they haven't got my information yet? What a shame to know these things and where is your company credit for customers? Just because I have small land to build a single story with your company? Almost half year, half year to prepare the documents??? Let all the customers know what happened on me and be responsible for your abilities.
