Frustrated with Kubota Z125
I have owned my Z125 since May 2015. I have experienced many mechanical issues that are listed in the other reviews. I have had it back at my dealership two or three times and they have been very responsive. All repairs have been completed under warranty because they have shown several service bulletins from Kubota for the different malfunctions. While that is a positive, it is still extremely frustrating and inconvenient. Many times I have shut the mower down to pick up branches and sticks, only to get back on the mower and it wouldn't st...Read more
art. I usually fidget with something and eventually get it started but I lose time and with 4 to 5 properties to mow, when I have the time to mow, I need to be mowing. Bottom line is when the mower is running, it's great. Problem is, it has not been reliable. I have owned a Kubota tractor in the past and loved it but this Z125 has soured me enough to give others a look!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Love this machine
Easy to start, and operate. Love the many cutting hieght selections. Purchased last Fall. Started immediately after long hibernation. Just completed 8.0 hour oil and filter change. Found the oil drain location a tad inconvenient.
Very comfortable, but I added arm rests...
I have an acre and this machine cuts much faster, although there are a few steep hills, so I take it slow on those.
I read many reviews and hesitated to buy... I sure am very pleased with my purchase. This replaced a Troy Bilt that lasted 20+ years.

Lemon Worst lawnmower made!!! Lemon
This lawnmower started out great & the second time I mowed it thru a belt off. Belt replaced then it happened 9 more times in the first year I owned it. On top of that the starter went bad, pulleys went bad, then the spindle went bad too. Talked to Kubota dealership and the company asking for another unit or money back and of course they refused saying I had the best lawnmower on the market. Complete garbage!! Used a Troy Bilt for 8 years to mow 3 acres and never had these problems. Please DONT BUY a Kubota!! Buy another brand that the company will stand behind. Now back in for service after there campaign upgrades and for the second time in shop for problems after they fixed with now more problems and as normal Kubota is of NO Help!!

Drives like a tank no guts when cutting
When buying I thought it would be great as it seemed well built however problems existed after second use if mower stopped the starter would not engage after many attempts dealer failed to be of help saying bring it in to workshop how's that stuck down bottom paddock I eventually found the problem faultyhandbrake isolator the belt smokes when cutting short grass purchased new belt $149.00 only 45 hours on clock I also use a John Deere la 115 leaves this for dead munches better cuts smoother the mulch kit is a work in itself to change to Shute eject I really want to sell this thing Kentan Machinery is of no use bloody hopeless

Great mower. Pleased with the purchase
Our mower mows four or five blocks each two weeks so I feel it gets a fair test from the time it has spent with us. It is the fourth or fifth Zero turn mower we have had and seems the toughest so far. The fabricated deck makes it a little heavier but is reassuring that it should hold together much better than pressed decks. The fact the blade carrying shafts are slightly out of alignment means they don't hit one another. Two starting other mowers with T, one J, one with a W

o I prefer mowing uphills. It is a bit inclined to steer off going downhill because of the short wheelbase and mass coming off the rear wheels. That is great for traction going uphill, however. The belt driven cutter blades make it very forgiving in tough conditions. I have used a gear driven deck on a previous mower and much prefer this one. Tough I find the mower comfortable and easy to control. The amount of fuel used does depend on the extent of the work I do. Tough work means more fuel but the mower is doing about five to six hours a month1 comment
Mower still going well cutting several gardens at a time. Just traded my Walker mower on another Kubota. The Walker is good on fine lawns, but fragile near larger stones or rocks.

This mower rocks
After buying a couple of 2nd hand tractor style ride ons which fairly promptly failed, I took the plunge and bought the Kubota Z122R brand new. Does everything I could expect of it, mostly just around the house on fairly level ground but also a bit of hairy staff near the front gate where it tackles a decent slope with ease.

Happy with my purchase
Zero Turn is far superior to my Kubota B6200 with under slung mower in terms of speed and comfort. Uses a fair bit more fuel when the grass is long. I have done 105 hours in about 10 months with little maintenance required apart from oil change, clean air filter and a new set of blades (my block is still a bit rough). Also Zero Turn is great fun to drive.

Average at best
I got this mower because I could get a good deal on it through a family friend that works for a Kubota dealer, so I got it for $4250 plus tax and warranty or whatever. I think if my yard was perfectly flat, I could give this mower 4 stars. My biggest complaints are how awful it handles. Going downhill and want to make a right or left turn? Forget about it. This thing drifts like something from Fast and Furious when you try to turn it. I've tried adjusting the tire pressure down, to get a better contact patch, but then it just mows uneven in cor...Read more
ners. It's supposed to hold 4 gallons of gas, but I have 1.1 acres, which I mow about half of most of the time, and just mow the back half about every 3rd time. One tank on this thing will mow about 2 acres at best, in my experience. When I first got it, it took forever to start, so I found that when they assembled it they didn't attach the throttle cable right and the choke wasn't working. I haven't had a very good experience with this hunk of orange at all, but it does cut really flat and drives fast, if i'm on flat ground, which not much of my yard is since I'm on a hill.Similar opinion? Kommader z122e 48" Briggs and Stratton, great zero turn mower
The mower has a 48 inch cut and is very well made,Hills District Farm Equipment were helpful and professional in handling my purchase. The mower is very comfortable and easy to operate with a foot operated deck lift system. The v-twin Briggs is ultra smooth and has plenty of torque. I highly recommend this product for residential mowing.

Belt keeps jumping off pully
My Z122R throws the belt and I even broke one. They have a belt tension kit to fix this problem but on back order. They replaced my belt and said they don't have anymore because they to are back ordered. Any part I needed for my new mower has been back ordered. Thinking about going back to Toro.

Continual belt problems
Had my z121s for a couple years now and has less than 100 hours on it. The deck belt has come off 12 to 15 times. They say a piece of pine cone or stick gets in the pulley. Thats actually happened 3 Times. Belt broke at about 75 hours for no apparent reason. Apparently poor design with the pulley system. Switch had to be replaced but it was warranteed (thank you, dealer!). I'd like to get rid of it, but guess I'm stuck. No more Kubota mowers for me. I have a Kubota tractor 7 years I love...no problems. Stick to tractors, Kubota!

Mower belt coming off, engine is running ruff, missing.
Very disappointed for a mower to be in the shop 2 times with only 49 hrs on it .And the dealer, my cousin Woodlee Kubota McMinnville Tn. of all things saying it had a stick on the mower belt causing the belt to come off, and bad gas causing it to run bad.Hi, I didn't just come off the boat .Belt has came off 4 times.I put it back on .The Dam thing shakes like a out of ballence dryer at low speed, The Dealer told me to run it wide open and then turn on the mower belt. And all gas is bad. Use gas treatment. What a bunch of crap.

Biggest piece of crap I have ever invested in!
Just retired and thought I would invest in a smooth operating zero turn mower to ease my effort for my age. Bought a new Z122R in Jonesboro AR, brought it home, rolled it off the trailer and it would not start. Called three days in a row and they said they would come get it, but finally had to take it to them on the fourth day. Bad gas, they said. Took off gas tank and carbuerator and cleaned them and it ran just fine. Thing is, THEY filled it up with that "bad gas." Big problem was the belt, though. It totally shredded after about three...Read more
mowings. Not covered by warranty they said! Made me buy a new one, telling me that it probably got a stick caught in it. Put the new one on, but about every other mowing, the belt pops off. With research, I see this is a major problem. I have had two major surgeries in the last two years on my left wrist, and have had to put the belt back on about 20 times in the first 30 hours of mowing. It takes me about an hour and a half with the use of one good hand and I am old. This mower is killing me, causing unneeded stress and generates much pain and suffering, which is a far cry from the ease of life I spent $4,500 for. It is simply a piece of crap, and if you are thinking of buying one, look for something else!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Love the mower, but it seems our Kubota dealer has problems getting parts from Kubota themselves!
I love my 45 inch Kubota zero turn mower. However, 3 weeks ago I broke the bolt holding one of my blades to sharpen my blades. The bolt breaking was my fault, but I took my deck to the Kubota dealer, they are super folks, Evens Equipment, to get fixed. They told me they would need to change out the gear box where the bolt brokd. That was 3 weeks ago and they are still trying to get the part from Kubota. They also have another mower waiting for parts they can't get, and they still can't tell me when they will get the part. I have to mow eve...Read more
ry 5 days, and my 3 acres is very hard to mow for a 70 year old man with a walk behind mower in thick grass. If I had known my dealer would have such problems getting parts of this national brand, I probably would have gone with another brand. I really like my dealer but they only handle Kuboa and Sthil products. I am very unhappy right now with Kubota. The dealer sold 3 mowers like mine to people who I knew and told how happy I was with my mower. It isSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible
Worked great when new, now after 100hrs it backfires and is incredibly noisy and throttles up and down on its own. Serviced correctly but now the dealer says it needs new valves and other repairs....given what I paid that amounts to about $100 per mow. Stay away from this junk.

Belt problems
Cut grass one time with no problems. Went to cut it the second and the belt came off, along with a large spring. I made the first payment yesterday. I asked the dealership if this is a common problem and was told it wasn't. Now after a little research it seems to be.

Worst lawnmower I ever had!!
Knew friends with kubota tractors and they loved them. So I figured their lawnmowers would be as good. WRONG.
This thing has given me sooo much trouble. Belts and pulleys. Had it 2 yrs. and it's been in the shop 7 times and of course belts are not covered under the warranty. And the labor is always at least 150$ -200$ or more. The belts come off EVERY TIME we mow!!. Could of bought a used mower and had better luck. Bought a new mower so we wouldn't have to work on it. No stars... It's junk, a moneypit, undependable, useless. Had to put one star cause it wouldn't submit with zero stars. Someone should report kubota to the BBB. Then maybe they would make good on all this junk stuff.

Belt issues - 2 broken within 25 hours
The PTO belt came off and was put back on by the dealer when the mower was quite new, then at 65 hours it snapped.
At a cost of $199 for the belt and over $180 for travel and labour it was replaced. It then fell off again about 10 hours later and has now, at 90 hours snapped.
We have phoned the dealer who has said they can't do anything under warranty. Understandably we are not willing to pay another $380 to have the dealer come out to fix it again.
Phoned Kubota head office who have basically told me it was my fault because of the way i e...Read more
