Faulty and dangerous
Where do I start!!! Purchased October last Year from Harvey Norman Toowoomba
Faulty out of the box Had to keep wriggling the steam Button to stop the steam
Packed it up and sent back Replacement was worse Steam Button still did not work,
Grip on the handle was loose, and then the heat dial fell off So after a month had to pack it up and send it back again. Customer service promised the next one would be checked thoroughly Wow! went perfectly for the first ironing session unfortunately that is where it ends

Oooops - we're getting nervous
We took the plunge and purchased the laurastar lift about 8 months ago....yep it was expensive, but we thought if it did what it said we would see the value in it. Firstly, it irons beautifully......however.....we had to return it after the handle separated ( I see that's a common feature on this forum) .... Laurastar were good to their word and replaced the iron....no problem....two Months down the track and the heat dial has fallen off....mmmmmmm, we love what this iron can do.....but we are not into spending money on an apparent "quality" it...Read more
em that could fall apart due to their own poor quality control, then boxing it up, organising with transport companies with pickups and time.....this is not the experience we want from a purchase......we've sent an email off to laurastar and are awaiting their response......I'll update after that response. Faulty straight out of the box
I bought a Laurastar lift based on the recent Choice review. It is my third and definitely my last Laurastar. While the two Laurastar ironing systems I had were terrific, the Lift was faulty right out of the box. At times it produced so much steam that after ironing two items it was empty and I was burned by steam. At others, it continued to produce steam even when the button wasn't depressed, sometimes for five to 15 seconds after I released the button (I had to let go of the handle entirely so that I didn't get scalded). ouldn't produce steam. The greatest surprise was when it produced steam when I hadn't pressed the button at all. It isn't as though I don't know how to use a Laurastar. So sad to see a company that produced such good products lose the plot. Don't buy one. And don't buy one from David Jones who wouldn't give me a refund until they talk to the manufacturer. If I don't get a refund, I'm going to bring it back home and video its performance and put it on YouTube so that others can see how bad it is. I can't see any circumstance where it is reasonable to have a brand new $679 iron repaired. Nothing Faulty straight out of the box1 comment

I'm heading for my fourth replacement in two months!
Don't get me wrong, I love the iron, it is just too unreliable! The first two broke within a week, steam gushing out and unable to switch off. The third I have barely used at all and is now switching itself off for no reason during the 20 seconds it takes to hang a shirt on the hanger!
I cannot fathom how this company is still in business. This product needs a complete redesign to ensure it works for more than a few hours, especially at the price!
Love how it works when it does work! Cuts down ironing time and dies a superb job
Broke every few hours of use. I'm on machine no 3 and guess what, it's faulty!

Great when they work - but seldom do!!
On my third Lift iron. The first one was returned as it stopped steaming - was told that it was a problem with the iron that was rectified. Second iron's handle came apart and was returned only to be told that this too is a frequent problem!! Third iron doesn't work at all - not once!! Was told they have no more available irons in Australia and won't refund my money unless I have the original receipt (from three irons ago) even though they have a copy of it on their computer. s a nightmare!! Is it so hard to return a call? So suppose I will just have to go to court to get my money back which is a waste of time. Given I have to drive 50 minutes each way to return this terrible product the whole thing has been a retail horror story. My previous Laura Star cost me an extra $600 in repairs. Such a shame. I have been using their irons for years and used to love them but now it's just a rotten product.4 comments

Poorly made product
This item is fantastic for ironing, however the body is very poorly made. The steam button is held together by a flimsy 3x1mm piece of plastic which has broken from a mere 6-10 hours of uses (on two machines) and as such the steam cannot turn off without pressing the button on the other side - has caused a few near burns. Although great service when I have attended the flagship store, it is very frustrating continually having to return because of a defective product/s. Disappointing - as I love the ease of ironing, I will now have to return yet again; this time for a refund.

My Laura Star will only let me iron 4 to 5 pieces of clothing and then automatically shuts off, without warning and whilst in use. It always has about half a tank of water left and is working perfectly until it shuts down. What can I do to stop this from happening? It is very frustrating.
