Great car with a few small annoyances.
Bought the MY18 Outlander Exceed Petrol and have been driving it for several months now. Very comfortable, easy to drive, plenty of room and all the gadgets you could ever need and some you don't. I got it from Frankston Mitsubishi and they were great to deal with (and easy to haggle on all the extras).
Only a few small things that annoy me -
- The support beam between the windscreen and side windows does obstruct your view but this seems to be common to many cars these days.
- The front parking sensors seem to have a mind of their own, reg...Read more

Okay, but!
I got this car earlier this year (2018) and have had no issues with it mechanically. Unfortunately it is an automatic which has created some issues by it getting up to extremely high rpm when trying to maintain speed.
It has a lot of smarts built in. Some people may like these, but of course there are good and bad with each. One thing that is specifically annoying, as with most new cars these days, is that there is no CD player. For some reason the manufacturers think that everyone wants to transfer music across to USB (which by the way, we ar...Read more

Reliable jack of all trades and a great car for the money.
We've owned the car for just over 2 years now and it hasn't put a foot wrong. It's a very practical and well build car, one of the few SUV's that are still made in Japan. Our model had everything that we needed/wanted; 7 seats, bluetooth, 4wd, auto lights/wipers etc, all for a shade below 40k. You get a lot of car for the money, the other brands we looked at couldn't come near that. It's spacious and quiet inside and the seats are very comfortable, on short and long trips. I use around 10-12 litres per 100klm in mixed driving leaving it in 4wd ...Read more
auto all the time. The 7 seats have come in very handy, though the extra 2 seats are not for long journeys. The visibility is great and I don't know how I used to go without a rear vision camera. I had to recently put on the brakes hard, with the ABS kicking in, and I was pleasantly surprised by how quick the car came to a stop, so thumbs up for that too. 5 year warrantly and 3 years fixed price servicing gives us peace of mind. Only (minor) gripes I have with the car are that it could do with a bit more power and a bit less hard plastics inside. Other than that, a reliable jack of all trades and a great car for the money!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good pick up and comfortable driving
Very good in driving, very comfortable. Performance is very good as well as I have drove CRV as well. Likes it's rear space, biggest I have seen in comparative suv cars. Fuel economy is not as good as I would like but It's ok for suv. Off road is good as well.

Great for a growing family
We have had this car for 8 years now and had no issues. Reliable and cheap to run. We have the LS 7 seat model but it really only fits 5 due to 3 kids still in car seats. The only reason I would get this again is we need a minibus as we intend to have more kids. Easy drive and the cruise control is great

Great value
Great car for a young family of four. We've had this car for three years and it hasn't missed a beat. It has a large boot space and roomy interior. It is a bit on the plastic side inside but the price point makes up for that. Fuel economy is great with over 800km highway driving and over 600km city driving. We have the front whell drive model. I would definitely recommend this model Outlander.

Outlander exceed petrol 2.4L
This is my first SUV and I'm so happy with my purchase. With 3 kids I really felt like I needed the extra 2 seats in the back so I could pick up extra kids if need be. The flexibility is great! So easy to convert, loads of boot room, spacious interior without being a massive car. Very easy to handle, front and rear cameras and sensors make parking a breeze! No complaints from me at all!
After having a European car, the Outlander feels cheap to run (regular unleaded) and service.
I love all the safety features too.
I looked at a lot of cars before we bought this one and I'm so happy with our choice.

Very nice and great all rounder
Bought a diesel AWD LS safety new last year and it is one great car. I really like driving with the adaptive cruise control. My only gripe would be I had no choice other than getting 7 seats (don't need them) but apart from that, has heaps of drivability.. great economy and power and tows the boat easily with the two tonne towing capacity (as opposed to the petrol powered with 1600kg towing) when I test drove both engine variants prior to buying, I knew I'd be dissatisfied settling on the petrol and CVT as it felt a bit underpowered. I have ow...Read more
ned a lot of cars over the years and find this car quite enjoyable.. and the buying experience was one of the best I've ever had.. bought this car from the Norris Group (Redcliffe Mitsubishi) and found the staff excellent, gave me the courtesy of time, information and cars to test drive and even the haggling was enjoyable (which is usually for me at least the most stressful part) would I buy another... 2016 zk Mitsubishi outlander heap of rubbish
This is the worst car I have ever owned. Car has unbearable flat spot. Taken car back to dealer three times. They cannot fix it. I have got to the stage that I need to sell it. When I asked Knox Mitsubishi how much they would give me for the car, they did not get back to me. Fuel consumption getting worse. My first SUV purchase has been a disaster. I am sick and tired of being told car is within specifications. Your specifications need to be updated. Do not buy Mitsubishi there are much better cars out there.

Excellent and affordable with lots of gadgets too!
I was in the market for a midsize SUV that can fit 5 people easily with an occasional need of third row seats. I spent quite few months in finding best car that fits our budget, need and yet sophisticated. Mitsubishi trumped all other SUVs in the market.

Best choice for a family SUV with good towing
A pragmatic choice for a family. Everything just works and there are no mechanical failures with the 2015 Outlander, which I own. It has got plenty of space and surprisingly good fuel economy. The interior and the facilities are quite good. But I feel the styling could be improved to be on par with the competition such as the Mazda CX-5.
Comfy to drive and the CVT transmission is better than I thought. The engine packs a lot of punch when you are on 4WD mode. Mine does about 10L/100km in city and 8L/100km when doing long distance trips.
Extremely happy about my choice. No reason to upgrade as of yet.

Chugs along.
I have a 2013 Outlander, mechanically the car is quite good and there's really nothing much that has caused a problem except a reoccurring inclination to blow its headlight bulbs. The interior is large and extremely handy at carrying large loads. On the weekend I cleared out a house taking countless boxes and a fridge....the car has also carried a washing machine so space and the flat floor is excellent for carting goods. The one thing I hate about this car is the seats, they are like a rock and uncomfortable. The front passenger seat is on a...Read more
lean which means the unfortunate traveler feels like they are sliding out of the door. Spare parts are quite reasonable, I amaze at the cheapness after owning a Renault. Fuel economy is also really good, for such a big car the Outlander is miserly on fuel. Handling is really good and sure footed. Brakes are OK, when applied in an emergency though the ABS feels like it's trying to stop a bus. The FWD is very good on dirt roads and the odd paddock as is the ground clearance. I like the chunky solid feel of the car, the doors are weighty yet it is easy to park....the turning circle is unbelievably good! Apart from the seating which may be rectified by buying a more up market model there is a lot to like about this car. It isn't a thrilling vehicle to drive but it does everything with little fuss and chugs along faithfully.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing 4WD vehicle at reasonable price!
We have been happy with purchase of our Outlander overall. It has served and stood to its expectations. It is a good Station Wagon type car for everyday drive with comfortable seating for 7, Eco drive for super economy, 4WD to drive on rough terrains of Australia from snowy mountains to sandy beaches. Good towing of 1600kgs. Ample room for storage.

Mitsubishi Outlander XLS 4wd
Initial Thought:
This is my 3rd Mitsubishi, after trading my mirage to Frankston Mitsubishi with Mitsubishi Outlander auto 4wd XLS model. Got mixed feeling at first because it is a big vehicle in compare with tiny mirage but after 3 years of driving to mostly in tarmac, I can say it is running good so far. Took it to sydney, Great Ocean Road, Gramphian, Mt. Buller and all around Victoria. It drove well. There has been few recall from Mitsubishi motor and they do it free of cost. Only problem is you have to leave the car whole day at service ce...Read more

Happy driver
The performance is good so far. I like the legroom and dashboard. However, i don't really like the use of gasoline. I have to pay alot of money for gasoline. The after sale service is good. I wish i could have an automatic hand brake system instead of the manual one.

Perfect family car
Needed to upgrade from a Mazda 3 when we had our first and the car seat was no longer fitting in the Mazda. I had my eye on a ASX but after comparing the boot space the outlander was a stand out! HEAPS of boot space with extra storage underneath. It is sooo roomy with plenty of space for the car seat and passenger leg room. It does seem to guzzle a bit of fuel but I think that’s because I was used to my cheap little Mazda. Highly recommend for a great family car, I can really see it lasting many years to come

Piece of Junk
Hired through Thrifty and it was awful, the engine didn't have sufficient torque for the size of vehicle making a loud knocking noise at idle and the automatic transmission was erratic. The location of controls wa not thought through and the suspension wallowed over lumps and bumps in the road surface making it difficult to control on a sealed road. If you are a smaller stature like myself the driver's seating adjustment was lacking, resulting in a massive headache after an hour drive.

Great value for money
We purchased our new Outlander about a month ago as a new family car. It was the best value for money we could find. I absolutely love the adaptive cruise control. It is a very comfortable car to drive, the sound system is great and it has a lot of room for a medium SUV.

I'd just like to add that after my car was stolen (from my keys being taken from the gym), I purchased the exact same car again. Absolutely no complaints and apparently the newer version is more fuel efficient.bonus!
