Disgusting Business practices
This company has been randomly calling me even after I told them not to call. They use a company called "Bag an Offer" which is an overseas call centre to randomly call people and push them into signing up.
I thought this type of cold calling was illegal in Australia? A Current Affair would have a field day with these guys.

I have received many stalkerish phone calls from these guys. They start off with painting themselves as working for the government and then you find out that later down the track in the phone call that they will send through a bill or price comparison. To top it off the then say that if I don't like the price comparison I have to call to cancel their service. To which my response was...

Read morents who are ethnic and have clear hearing problems. Its people like you that call my parents, mislead them and have them stressed out. In my dreams I imagine my hand coming into the phone receiver and giving you a good cross hook. Please, forget about sending me a quote and don't make me waste 10 mins of my life to call you guys to so called cancel the plan that I so called agreed to sign up with... " I don't blame the person on the phone. I blame the company entirely. -100 stars is what I would give them. If you ask me personally, this company belongs in the Reject Shop... This is the worst by far I've ever dealt with, I keep getting harassed by People energy for an account I don't have. When I ask to go to transfer through to the complaints they say no, when I ask to speak to a manager they say no. Please stay away from this company, they are a small energy provider ripping people off and harassing people. I have no idea how they get away with this.

Horrible experience today where I had 6 (Yes, SIX) phone calls today from this business trying to convince me to change energy providers. How many times do I have to say I'm not interested??

Dodgy Scammers for sure!
Somehow unbeknown to us, our electricity was switched to this unheard of company!!! First we knew about it was when we got a REMINDER, dodgy sneaky scammers is a very good description of this company! This bill doesn't even say what it's for and for what period! Dumbfounded and angry!
invisible bills falling from the sky
Called them and canceled service. Got told that it would be disconnected about 2 days after we left. Got a call from a dept company about 3 months later saying we owed a bit. I asked for an invoice to be sent. Called back 20 minutes later because I didn't receive any email. Got told it was in people energys hands and they will get in touch with me when they are able. Got another call from same company about a month later demanding I pay the bill that I still have not seen. Had to end up paying it to avoid debt collectors showing up at my door. Not very impressed. .

Dodgy scammers send last bill 2 months later with due date next day without explanation
Received bill for 62$ where written for outstanding service that might include any other overdue amounts. No explanation nothing, only one price 62$ due -tomorrow! I called they said (of course no Australian accent) it's for switching off service. I said I was not informed your switching off cost 62$. And why do you send it to me 2 months later?. Where is price written on your site for switching on and off? They said there is no price it's on regulation board charges that is for every provider is different and it's secret info that they do not expose! Scammers as they know we can't do anything those who want to leave and last min they charge you whatever they want.

Three bills in and I'm a fan. Surprised by poor the reviews listed?
I had Lumo Energy at around $150+ per month.
The sales person who called from People Energy was great and not pushy (I won't sign up with or talk to a pushy rep, no matter what the deal). The comparison given promised bills around 10% cheaper, barely worth changing but I'd meant to shop around for years so decided to give it a go. Sales person was great - to the point, respectful, polite and not pushy. And to the point - no nonsense. I had a problem setting up the online account (it wanted the address as it appears on the bill, but wouldn't accept a "slash" character. This helped me forget to pay the second bill on time - the third is due in a week. I just called and a very polite and helpful rep, Daria, set it up for me. He also had the Pay On Time Discount applied for the bill which was not paid on time, mostly because I forgot to pay. Absolutely disgraceful and scammers
Absolutely outraged today by the treatment of their team.
I have consistently been lied to. Been told I was getting a good discount and their rates have sky rocketed. The man I spoke to with last month told me I would be put on a payment plan to lay off a bill I had missed and then talked me in to direct debitting that amount and also an average amount for my month bill fortnightly... WELL I've been slammed with a $328 bill out of bloody nowhere. He told me I was a liar and I told him to go shove it. He was the liar as I wouldn't of known about the further discount of direct debitting my bills had he not of told me on our prior call!! SO SO SO ANGRY ! Changing companies now and want nothing to do with them! SCUMBAGS

They called me and told me that since I was an victorian resident I can get 38% discount off my current enegy provider and I was interested until I had to switch my energy provider to them so I then declined their offer but they guy I was talking to wouldn't take no for answer, he kept pushing me to join and then when I kept saying no thanks, he hung up on me. what terrible sales team they have! Why would anyone wanna join a company when their sales team try to hide that they are an energy company and have horrible customer service!
Disgusting company dont touch
I have tried to change my power back to Dodo after getting a bill nearly twice the price of my Dodo bills. Their sales pitch is they guarantee cheaper rates than every other company. 5 calls and lots of mucking around today they refused to change me over (I'm not in a contract) and they threatened to disconnect my power if I tried to change back to Dodo. Contacted me at the end of may with promise of further discount of my electricity and after few weeks i received a letter that i become their customer.i called them and complain cause they contact my suplier and change my elec.provider to them.they promised me to do an investigation but i am still their customer... Stay away from these scamers!

Signed me up without me knowing
Someone from PE contacted me I told them I wasn't interested only to find out they signed me up. The rep told me I wouldn't be switching to PE they would send me out a letter which I take to the post office and I would get a further 38% off these people lie. Stay away seriously! They done the same thing to 4 people I know. I don't know how they are still in business.
Fraudsters
I was contacted by one of their sales reps via phone about this great discount that i was able to receive from the government. I asked point blank "is this going to change my energy retailer."
"No sir. Nothing will change"
Next thing I know I'm receiving bills from these guys at a far higher rate than previously. for both KWH and supply charge. I'm refusing to pay them a cent for this abuse.
First bill came in December for a November supply period and I just received a payment plan dated in Oct (Received start of Jan). This letter was accompanied by a disconnection notice for an overdue amount that was only 2 months old.
So don't trust them, don't use them and do whatever you can to keep yourself away from these rip off merchants!!!
