Rinnai Avenger 25 / 25Plus

Hi there

We have an avenger25TRE and it seems to emit strong fumes. We have had it for about 6-7 years now. I'm wondering if the new Avenger 25 models have been modified to emit less toxic fumes or are they the same as the older models?

Thanks

I am not sure about this but my avenger which I only purchased recently does emit fumes now and then. Hope this helps

Thanks a lot for your reply Andrea. If the newer models appeared to emit fewer or no fumes, we would have bought the newer one. Think we'll keep the older one. It certainly warms our large, open living area.

Avenger AV25L (LPG, White)

Hi, I had my heater on "GAS ECON AUTO OFF" mode. The "AUTO OFF" was flashing. What does that mean? I changed it to" GAS ECON AUTO OFF MODE" and it worked fine.
Also it's rather confusing trying to work out which mode to use.
How do I decide which one to use, there doesn't seem to be any outlines in the book as to which mode to use.
Regards
Grant

I have a rinnai avenger 25 rce671tr that has just had its jets changed from natural to lpg but now it runs for 60 seconds and then shows fault 18. Anyone know why?

Thanks for your question Marks1807. Error 18 normally indicates a lack of gas to the unit. If it has been recently been converted we would recommend having the gas plumber who performed the conversion, return to check gas supply to the unit and there are no blocked points. We have a technical help line on 1300 555 545 who can also advise on areas they can check when on site.

Thank you for your enquiry.

From your description it sounds like the lock function on the heater has been activated.

To deactivate the Lock function press both the Up and Down buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The Lock indicator will go out to show that the Lock function is no longer active. The Lock function can be deactivated at any time in this manner.

Our customer contact centre an be contacted on 1300 555 545 if you require further assistance.

What's the difference between the avenger and avenger plus?

The Avenger 25 plus has an electric element that can pump out an extra 2kW of heat. It’s perfect for those really frosty mornings.

Good afternoon, the main differences between the units is The Avenger 25 plus has a separate electric element and fan that can produce an extra 2kw of heat. So will heat approx. 15-20m2 more than the Avenger 25 (depending on location very cold – mild).

You can view the specifics of both heaters at www.Rinnai.com.au or by calling our friendly staff on 1300 555 545 with option 1 for our sales department to discuss further.

Does the fan on the Rinnai 25 Avenger use a lot of electricity. Can I turn it off somehow(fan only) Is there a low option as it seems to be full on all the time and I have to switch it off. There is probably a simple explanation sorry

Hi
The fan stays on as that is what draws the cold air thru the system then pushes out the hot. Minimal power used and won't work without.
Lower your thermostat and turn economy mode on, then once room is at temperature it will tick away quietly maintaining temperature.

Yep, turn the temperature to the room temp (or lower) or put in Economy, that does the trick. My Electricity bill was normal after 2 months of having my new heater. However I just opened my 1st gas bill and nearly had heart failure - $181 more than this period last year! My old Rinnai died and was under-rated (in size) for the newer house so I thought getting a bigger unit would make it need to work less, plus it is rated relatively well, seems I was wrong. I'm off to go turn my heater down now...

I have a rinnai avenger 25 heater but I have moved to a house with no natural gas. Is there an adaptor I can purchase to use with lpg gas bottles or do I need a new heater?

1 answer

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you would be able to. A friend did something similar in reverse when they had a BBQ that was on LPG and they moved to a house with natural gas. Check with a retailer you should be able to get some type of adapter.

How do I uninstall/ detach the rennai 25 avenger from the gas outlet? The portable heater is in the lounge and I want to put it away during summer.

1 answer
Artie K

It unscrews from the wall connection, similar to a gas BBQ. Simply unscrew from the outlet and obviously disconnect from the power too. The floor connection wont release gas once the connection attached to the heater is removed.
