The filter light keeps flashing ... we clean the filter, replace it and after a short time, the light flashes again. Any ideas?? We recently moved into the house so not sure of the history of cleaning by the previous owners.

Read more Thanks Rinnai AustraliaWe currently have an old Vulcan Quasar 40 wall furnace that is about 30 years old and goes ok but it might be time to replace it. Would a 559FT be ok to replace it. It should cover the same area which is about 50-60 m2. Would getting the old one out and having the wall rebuilt be an too big an issue?
Would it be cheaper to run and be a suitable replacement?

Read more Check the Set point and Room temperature display in case the room sensor is reading a higher temperature than actual as that will reduce fan and heat. Make sure that there are no obstructions around the rear, sides and top of the heater causing reduced air flow/ventilation. Only fix seems to be to increase house gas pressure at regulator, which will cost you not Rinnai. I'm not going to. Read more check house gas pressure. Perfectly normal under proper test. This plumber reckons having a lot of call-outs re alleged low gas pressure on Rinnai Ft heaters, when, like mine, it's not. Plumber reckons it's the Rinnai electronics, pressure detector set far too sensitive for Melbourne gas supply grid. Plumber reckons only solution is to adjust the gas regulator at the meter to increase your house gas pressure. This will cost you, not Rinnai. Don't call Rinnai for service fault under warranty, they will find no fault with their heater and bill you around $300 for a false call-out. I just put up with the thing now, no use trying to talk sense to Rinnai.Hello,
We have had a Rinnai RHFE 556FTR heater for a while and recently we were told that we had to decommission it because there was a recall on this model. To substantiate that claim, the company that told us that, provided the following link: https://www.rinnai.us/support/recalls
The information provided at that link refers to RHFE 556FTR heaters manufactured in the US. Does this recall apply to RHFE 556FTR heaters in Australia? Especially since the unit we have is made in Japan and prior to 2000.
