Great for basic cover and what we need for right now!
Very easy to get a quote and compare each policy to find what we need! Glad to join the RSPCA family and will be sure to use them again for our future pets!
We believe this is a good policy for our puppy as she's so young and we don't want to risk anything bad happening and being too out of pocket!

Caring and very helpful consultants.
Recently my beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has what was eventually diagnosed as a stroke. Rspca has been outstanding in their response to my claim.
Two staff members in particular, Kate, who handled my ‘Gap Only’ claim and sorted out the problem in such a friendly way, and Gilda, who took lots of time with me to sort out all the difficulties I had with one particular claim. Both girls went above and beyond in their efforts to sort out the issues, which were not the fault of the insurance company.
I’ve had my policy with RSPCA over 11 years. I would thoroughly recommend RSPCA pet Insurance.

Shocking
can you believe ultimate cover does not cover desexing!!!! i hate to think what economy cover gets you. Very disappointing. I do not recommend. they were prompt to review my claim.....that is the only positive thing i can say. trying to discuss with them,...but on hold for 44 minutes now and still no answer

Easy set up to a great insurer with an excellent reputation. I have decided to start this policy with people who care about animals even over 10-year-olds like my cat.

Just what I wanted for my pet.

Don’t bother!
Don’t bother trying to make a claim as they try and find any excuse not to cover it. They won’t cover my dog for a simple ear infection because he had ear mites 3 years ago even though my vet said it wasn’t caused by ear mites! When I emailed them they didn’t want to help me and now I have no reply. I am worried that if something serious happens to my dog they wont cover him :(

Have never been so disappointed.
Sure, it is so easy to join up, they welcome you with open arms, easy peasy! But don't try to claim, they will wiggle their way out of anything. I think it is very sad that this company is flying on the shirt tails of such a worthy company as the actually RSPCA, who do a wonderful job. And did you know that an ingrown hair follicle would later on be deemed as a skin condition, so no cover for allergies etc. Really pathetic. Would not advise anyone to joint this insurance company.

Cover out of reach if you have multiple "high risk" pets
Have been with this insurance company for 3 to 4 years (different ages dogs). I haven't had any issues with claims upto date. My issue is the premiums have risen year after year as the pets get older; which is absolutely normal. What started at under $70 a fortnight has evolved into $100. I understand the risk grows with the animals getting older. But IMO almost 20% as a single year increase pushed me to consider saving that $2600 in a rainy day fund. y dogs reach the age I'd really need cover. It took me 3 phone callsto cancel my policies; or at least they cancelled 1 of the 2. I had to phone back 2 weeks later once a payment for my second policy continued to be deducted. I was told by the sales team that i would get a call back once their customer service team were available. It didnt happen and I had to ring back the next day. This time my second policy was officially cancelled and once monies on their end were received; I would get a refund. Accidents happen but I thought it best cover my whole experience. I do appreciate they have recently changed their policies to mean there is no excess and you just have to pay the "gap" payment. Would have been nice when I had to pay a few grand for my dogs leg surgery; but at least it is their for future clients. I would somewhat recommend them as an insurance provider; but would be weary. Another note would be that I find it distasteful that first year premiums contribute to the RSPCA; which if you read it as it's written would indicate that is an far as their support goes.1 comment

I was given all details about what K was about to sign up for, including what is not covered, the lady on the phone was wonderful to deal with and not only is my dog covered incase of s emergency, but much need funds go to RSPCA. So win win, the process was easy and highly recommend them

Terrible
I did a quote online then got a call an hour later asking if I wanted their insurance. I said no but they charged me for 4 months anyway then when I went to get a refund they said no you can only cancel

Great experience
The lady I spoke to was helpful and very informative of the policy and what I was entitled to. I felt confident in my purchase. She was empathetic to the loss of my first pet and made me feel that I was doing the right thing by getting insurance for my second one
