Bad experience with luxury escapes & SNA tours
To all concerned who booked a tour through sna tours via luxury escapes for the Japan 12 days departing on different dates through 2020 and are having no luck communicating with both companies I suggest contacting the accc here is the link https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers and lodge a complaint online. The more people who lodge a complaint adds weight to our claims as clearly luxury escapes/ sna tours should have had our monies in trust and because we did not get what we paid for we deserve a refund. LE are negligent because they guaranteed my ...Read more

Japan Tour cancellation
My experience as previous reviews: Booked and paid to Luxury escapes for travel on 21 April to Japan, contacted a week before by an email for cancellation of the tour and offered their sympathy ...no offer was made for postponing or refund as Travel Asia ( which I don’t know whom they are) been liquidated. To my knowledge the tour was operated by SNA and they still in operation.. total confusion and where is the duty of care by Luxury Escapes

TOTALLY PEEVED OFF
Well there you go China starts the Covid-19 and now we all lose our money we have paid to travel to China through SNA tours. We had opted to take a refund less the cancellation fee well prior to them going into liquidation but it appears now that we like many others will be getting bugger all. We both are at retiring age and can ill afford to lose money like this - totally disgusted with the hole process. Why does my friend appear to have more money against her name than mine when we booked the same trips.

Loss of Money
We have been advised the same although 2 others travelling with us have yet to be advised. We too were advised of postponing until next April which we took. Travel Insurance appears to not cover liquidation either so we have all lost money now. What options do we have with Luxury Escapes for some responsibility?

Tour cancellation
Our experience is exactly the same as Avril Summers. Our tour to Japan, offered through Luxury Escapes, but managed by SNA tours was first postponed till next year and now cancelled due to SNA Tours going into Liquidation. We feel extremely disappointed as at our age 75+ it is a loss of a significant amount of money and timing. Luxury Escapes is ATOL protected in the UK and Europe which insures that the purchaser can get a full refund if the tour company goes bust. Does this assurance not exist in Australia? We chose to book through Luxury Escapes as it is a reputable company, but it is very disappointing that in this case we have not been offered an alternative or refund.

12 day Enchanting Japan tour 1st April 2020
We were due to go on a 12 day tour including flights of Japan Offered through Luxury Escapes, but managed by SNA tours, due to COVID19 the tour couldn’t go ahead. After trying to contact SNA tours via telephone to no avail we applied Via email for a Full refund to the tour company responsible (SNA tours). We received an email apologising for not being able to contact them and with much information. We were advised In another email we could postpone our tour to next year 2021, with several dates to select from. No offer of refund was given. A...Read more
s we still want to tour Japan we selected a similar date for 2021. Since when we have not heard further From SNA tours. Now we’re getting worried as Luxury Escapes just emailed to say that the tour operator Travel Asia has gone into liquidation. Total confusion as SNA tours we’re responsible for organising our tour not Travel Asia. Are they the same company. Anyone else having the same concern.Similar opinion? TERRBLE COMPANY
I bought a tour for china, we had to cancel it because of the corona virus. Many firms are returning all the money, but the sna tour said that it could only return half, and when the news about the virus was new, it made me decide quickly, otherwise I would do nothing. I still haven't received a refund. They told me to wait 3 weeks, it was 6 weeks, still I couldn't get my money.

SNA Tour has postponed my Japan Tour until next year.
Hello Everyone,
I have just received confirmation that SNA has agreed to postponed my Japan tour to next year. They are very supportive of the current situation.
For that I shall always be loyal to them for future tours.
And wonderful people working there.

Coronavirus
We too were booked to go in April to China and have been advised we can still go but when we get back we will go into quarantine for two weeks. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about!!! Please explain what the $350 covers as everything would have been canceled as soon as Australia stopped people going!!! I am going to bombard them with emails until I get a full refund.

TERRIBLE
Booked a trip for 4 people to China and was never updated on progress on flight or travel details. Attempted to confirm a travel date to arrange time off work and no one was able to confirm. When trying to cancel due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak, they advised it was $350 per person (total package cost $999) although the fine print and terms and conditions provided when booking only stated $150 per person, Staff have been rude, do not listen and talk over you. Have booked the trip through TVSN where both SNA tours and TVSN have continuously palmed my requests off to each other rather then any of the companies taking accountability or helping.

Poor final service
Booked China tour . Virus has spread. Ana txt call off my trip in March. They offer a credit or anther date . Given this disease spreads then there is anoth 250 lost on visa and insurance.
I asked for a full refund seeing they advised against travelling to China. Not me. For that its still going to cost me 350dollars.
It's not fare as far as I can see. Just be careful guys when booking with ana they won't budge on anything

If you think youre ganna pay $1500 for a return trip you are a fool.
The staff in Australia are good, however the tour its self is a torture. Waking up at 6am many days and just being on trains and buses all the way.
It may sound cheap to you for a return trip however they tell you its a budget travel and will use cheap old buses to take you around which has broken seats and are really uncomfortable. Also they waste your tour by taking you to their sponsored places in order to make you buy very expensive overpriced stuffs like 800grams of green tea for $320 and they offer free massage but actually taking you to...Read more

China in Autumn 10 nights 12 days
SNA are a very professional company and the booking all went smoothly and most helpful with any queries that came up. You don't have a choice of flights so have to take what you get, but very happy with the service that Singapore Airlines gave us, with 1 stopover in Singapore before landing in Beijing. The only major problem was no-one to meet us at arrivals at Beijing airport. Very stressful trying to make phone calls but eventually problem sorted. All the hotels were 5 stars and buses for transport were comfortable. The tour guides were very...Read more
knowledgeable and it was very interesting listening to all the cultural history of China. All the meals were adequate, however all became pretty bland and boring after a few days. Tour group was 31 people. Be prepared for lots of walking and climbing stairs, so need to be quite fit and sure footed, as lots of uneven ground and pavements. All the sites that we visited were interesting especially the Great Wall, Gubei Water Town, The Longman Grottoes were amazing. The Yangtze River Cruise was ok but the Gold 6 is a little tired compared to advertising photos. Take plenty of cash as optional tours paid to guides and purchases in China better paid in cash. China is a truly wonderful place to visit. The bullet trains were fast and clean. The people are all very friendly but very difficult to communicate with as no English spoken. Google translate got a good working out. Would definitely recommend for people to visit China and experience the country. All in all a well organized tour for a very reasonable price. Great value for money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Awesome 15 day tour of China
We had an amazing holiday, initially booked with Webjet exclusives NZ. We had great flights, one transfer outgoing and a direct flight coming home. The tour guides were awesome, very humorous which surprised us. They were very knowledgeable and the changeovers with guides at the railway station all went smoothly. There were some long train trips...up to 6 hours but the trains were all very comfortable although there isn't enough allocated room for all the luggage.
The Yangtze River cruise on the Victoria Katarina was enjoyable. The cabins are s...Read more

The worst tour in my life
We just came back from 9 days China Tour. I am extremely disappointed at the how the trip was organised and planned out.
First of all, due to a medical emergency the return flight was delayed by more than 15 hours (including initial waiting more than 7 hours in the airplane and then 8 hours at airport for the new approval documents) . It was physically and mentally draining for all of us especially our 9 year old son. When the Airline issued compensation, we were made aware that our son didn't have an adult ticket, this is concerning as we h...Read more
ad paid the same amount per person for this trip. As a result of this, my child only received half compensation as to the adult airfare. For this entire trip, we did not receive what we had paid for. My child was not provided breakfast, bottled water, toiletries and slippers etc as the hotels considered him as an add-on. We had to argue our way to get all these essentials at each location, even so bottled water was not provided in the Shanghainese hotel for my son. We were provided with a small two-bed bedroom each time although there were three of us. Although we were expecting an extra bed to be added in the room for my son as it would be uncomfortable to have one of us sharing a bedroom with a stranger, it came as quite a shock that a very small bed was squeezed into the already small bed room resulting in so little to no room to even walk around or store our luggages. For example, the Shanghainese hotel staff had to take apart the TV cupboard and squeeze a small bed underneath the TV for my son. I was also informed that this service is free for little kids, which means we were completely ripped off as we paid full fee per person, we were hence not allocated with a room or services any different to if the childs accommodation was unpaid for.Similar opinion? How do you know your new bookings for 2021 are secure with sna tours? I was contacted by sna tours too with new dates in 2021 but now their affiliate company travel Asia has gone into liquidation so I wouldn’t hold my breath with your new dates!

Hi We are booked for China Tour on the 24 April, we put it on hold due to coronavirus. I emailed your office there was no reply and called your office but you are currently closed? Can we get book it for latter until the coronavirus quites down or a refund for this ?
1 answer
Hi I have booked for same tour.. in March.
They can't guarantee a date that will be free of the disease. If you cancel you will lose 350 straight up. If another date option you will lose the visa and insurance money. You will have to buy it again. So more money.
They are being deliberately unco operative. They can call it what they like. The contract I signed for no longer exists..moving the date is a new contract that I refuse to enter into.
So as it stands now I stand to lose half of the payments made for this trip
