Good service
Had the first battery installed a few months ago and decided to install a second one. Contacted the company and an installation date was decided upon. The installer rang on the day, arrived at the time stipulated, installed the item without fuss and removed all packaging and waste.
Can recommend the company both for its products and its services.

Money Saver
The process for installing batteries was smooth, and very easy. Booking made, money paid and install completed in no time. The company monitored the system and deduced that we could use additional cells and came good with a cheap price. This option was taken up and as per previous, the next installation went quickly and very professionally. The Tech's ensured we had the correct tools to monitor the output and showed us what we can expect. Now we are nearly zero on our bill.

Charged and ready
The entire process, from the initial discussions about a battery installation by Solar Group to complement our existing panel system, to the actual installation has been fast, efficient and very professional. Everything was explained to us clearly and thoroughly and questions answered in a timely manner.

Great investment with my solar battery installation.
After receiving a letter asking if I was interested in saving money, I made the phone call and the operator explained everything regarding the pro's of having a solar battery installed. Charged up and ready to go.
I recently got a Hive battery system added to my existing solar system by Solar Service Group and am glad I did. I was advised when they were coming and they arrived promptly. When they arrived they asked to be shown where the inverter and switchboard were and before I knew it the unit was installed. (Well about an hour and a half). I was advised of the process from start to finish and any questions were answered on the spot. I have access to monitoring of the system on my iPhone, iPad and Mac and find it easy to use and very handy. I sent an email to their support people and got a reply quickly which answered my question. From my experience so far I would happily recommend them.

Solar service group are a bunch of RIP off merchants who get your money then do not give a damn about there customers.
When I rang up for this service they were providing for feedback thinking this would be cheaper then it was, saying only selected people were able to sign up I jumped on straight away. the salesman on the phone sounded so convincing and I was having second thought because it was over $6000. He finally convinced me and I went ahead and bought there product only to have everything they said they would do not happen.

They want more money $1300 to install blackout software so my battery that i paid for works in blackouts
I was selected to be in a trial for they Goanna Battery which was not cheap. I assumed the solar panels runs the house during the day and charges the battery for the night, so when you get a blackout the battery should kick in but not with the Solar service group this is not included in the battery software i am told and if i want it installed this is an additional $1300 which i was not told at all in the beginning. Easy end to end
From the sale up to our installation we couldn't really fault anything. Our system is up and running and the monitoring makes keeping track of everything we're putting in and out simple.

Closed Group Testing Phase Letter
Received letter in mail yesterday 20/11/19 offering a scheme for a battery(3kwh) at a installation cost of $6,500...........and to be monitored on a 12 month period in Qld that is a total rip off as I have quotes from other companies for the same price for a (6.5 kwh) battery....stay away from these guys they will suck you dry

Faulty battery & very poor technical support
Our HIVE Solar battery was installed less than 2 months ago & now it is not working at all. Since last week, it shows the FAULT indicator red light ON and the charging was on & off (OFF most of the time). But, it has been 3 days now that it is TOTALLY NOT CHARGING at all. On Monday, I've reported it to the technical support & they said that they will send an email to the manufacturer Alpha ESS to report the issue on that same day. But, when I called again, they are saying the same thing... the Alpha haven't responded yet so need to wait for another day. I've tried to pushed them to contact Alpha to know why it took them days to respond to their email. They said they will follow it up to the Alpha this afternoon & try to get back to us until tomorrow. I even ask them to give me the contact # of Alpha to personally follow up my concerns, but they don't want to. Instead, I've got the contact # of Alpha on the website & was able to get in touch with them. I told them my issues with the battery & asked them how come it took them days to respond to the email, but they said "they haven't received any email from SSG". So, I called SSG again to inform them that they haven't got their email. But, SSG insisted that they've sent the email on Monday. Though they've initiated to re-send it again today. I don't know whose negligence was it or whose telling the truth or not, all I care for is what kind of service you are offering to your customers. It cost us much to pay for this battery & we expect better than what we are getting right now. That includes the not only the quality of its performance but also the quality of your technical assistance. We have wasted few days of not saving energy because of your very poor technical support. We are supposed to be benefiting from the battery and we don't deserve this kind of experience.1 comment

Happy with result
Our installation was arranged within around 4 weeks of purchase, the installation itself was neat, and the installers arrived when they said they would. We check our monitoring every couple of days to see how its going.

Trying to sell the "discounted wholesale price" very low capacity battery system for much more than it worth. Asked to do deposit to secure the spot before exposing details about the system or warranty. Refused to show any paperwork before receiving money. After online research, they are doing the "initial testing phase" for years by now. Do the simple math of savings before ordering such system.

provider. The difference with this battery is that the system is modular, meaning you can 'stack/build' your energy storage system to suit your system requirements . For example, if your solar panel system only produced enough excess energy to fill the largest battery currently on the market half way everyday, the remaining storage space would be wasted and it would take you even longer to achieve a return on your investment. Expansions on the foundation system can be made over time, or you can choose to expand the system from the time of the initial installation. Made a sales pitch saying that you qualify for a battery "trial" which eventually turned out to be a nothing more than a sale. collecting information from me and selling alpha ess battery in 5980 and not able to get vic rebate actually more expensive than other standard battery.
such a foolish act they doing, don't call them if you receive a latter or mail from them.

Excited to see the benefits
We had our solar battery installed and I was very happy with the installers punctuality, knowledge and professionalism. After the battery was installed we received an email with a website we could log into to see our battery work. We haven't received an electricity bill yet but looking at the website it will definitely be worth our investment.

Difficult to complain about service when there isn't any!!!
We had existing solar panels when over 12 months ago a 1kw enphase battery was installed. I queried at the time as to whether this would be sufficient and was informed that the Solar Service Group would collect information such as production, consumption, etc and then provide a report after 12 months with their findings and recommendations. still no satisfaction. No matter who you talk to, their expertise seems to be in shirking any responsibility and passing the problem on to some other poor schmuck in the organisation. They have no idea of customer service and follow up. Being in customer service myself, I have no idea how these guys are still in business. Avoid them at all costs as they have no interest once they have installed their systems. November 6th 2022 Update: Shouldn't be that hard to communicate with your customers unless you don't care!!! After posting my original review (Difficult to complain about service when there isn't any!!!) 8 days ago, [name removed] from Solar Service Group responded surprisingly quickly to my review. I provided my email address so we could exchange phone numbers so I could discuss my issues with him rather than corresponding via this site. 3 days later I get a similar response from him but still no details provided so we could discuss over the phone. It is now 5 days after that and still nothing. Solar Service Group obviously have an issue with communicating with their clients once their sales objectives have been met. It shouldn't be that hard but no one at that organisation seems to want to take responsibility for their overall inaction. If the only way to get their attention is to keep providing 1 star reviews and bring down their ratings, then I am happy to comply. Got called n the day this was posted and was informed my installation will be December. Wow so much for the promise of installing within 8 weeks? By time install date planned arrives I will have been waiting 13 weeks!! Not a great start. Wishing I had not signed up now
Beware! have had Abysmal service and left with power outlets in 3 rooms in my house not working, solar panels not working and switchboard left with cover not screwed on. Will be getting a reliable company to rectify the shockingly incompetent work.

You will always have the service to property charges. But it seems that the battery is providing most of the floating power required. I am thinking that if I switch on the oven I may be drawing partially from the grid.

Hi Maz26, as Karl says you will have supply or property charges from your electricity retailers, however we have been able to see our customers charge their solar battery during the day and still cover daytime electricity usage with their solar. Then cover their night time electricity usage with the electricity stored in their battery.
