I'll Never Buy A Sony TV Again!
My Sony Bravia TV stopped working after 4 years. I took it to a Sony Service Centre, cost me $160 to be told the panel was dead and would cost $700 to fix. The TV cost $900, so not worth fixing. Australian Consumer Law suggests that a TV should last for five years at least. Sony would not fix the TV, however offered me a discount against a new one. I foolishly accepted their offer. They debited my credit card right away and then nothing ..... despite emails to their customer service tea, nothing! Over a week has gone and they still have not even processed my order, nothing shipped, no invoice, nothing! No wonder they only have 1 star rating here!

Absolute disappointment, I will never buy a Sony product again
I bought two X9000E TV's, 65" and 75". Both units have issues out of the box. One of which was completely dead on arrival. It has now been almost a month and a half and Sony still hasn't rectified the issue. After many phone calls as well as sending them a letter of demand, which hasn't been answered, I have now taken the matter to Fair trading. My advice for whoever is reading, if you're thinking of buying a Sony product, think again. Once they take your money, they don't care at all anymore.

Do not shop here
Do not buy from this store it is not in Australia, they take your money then tell you they have cancelled your order, then keep your money for 5 to 10:days. Go with another brand that has a store on line or not in Australia

Terrible customer service
I purchased a Sony 55" TV mid November. The same day I decided to go for a 65" TV and asked them to cancel the order. They canceled and the next day they apologized for shipment of the canceled order by mistake and asked me to refuse it. I refused the delivery but StarTrack was not able to deliver te item to the sender address. Ever since the item is stuck in their depot and now technically I am paying interest for a canceled order. Worst company ever!

Never Buy Sony Products!!! They are a SCAM. They are built to last just 4 years
I have been a Sony customer for over a decade. I bought a Bravia TV barely 4 years ago. An update was sent to my TV some days ago and after two days, as we were watching the TV, it just went blank and refused to power up. Called their Service Centre and i was asked to take it to one of their service centres and they will try and fix it for me. After 5 days, all i got back was that it has gone beyond the warranty period and the Australia Consumer warranty period. They offered me a new one at a reduced price or a repair at my cost. I regret ever...Read more
using a Sony. I am now scared that my second TV which i bought for $2,500 a year ago will only last 4 years. I will never buy a Sony again. They have gone the way of Apple too (degrade service or let it breakdown so that the customer can buy a new one).Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst online shopping experience EVER
Ordered a 75'' x90f led tv which was selling at $3.7k during the November frenzy promo. Price was so attractive so I also ordered a PS4 pro at $480. Happily paid with PAYPAL but 5 hours later, got an email from SONY saying that my order cannot be processed with no reasons provided. As you may have guessed, the nightmare started right after that email. Called the support centre a couple of times just to try to speak to someone that doesn't speak English at a space-time warping high speed. After being transferred among a dozen of different depart...Read more
ments was told that nothing they could do to reactivate the order and the only thing I could do is re-order the items I want. So I went back on to sony.com.au and wow, price of that TV was set back to $4.8k though the promotion was still on. Obviously SONY did not want to process my order because I spotted their false pricing or something. It took me 3 weeks to get the refund but I guess it's quick enough for a TECH GIANT. I must thank SONY australia for one thing though. Their low efficiency turned my eyes onto Panasonic OLED and I am extremely happy with my purchase at a local retail store. Steer away from SONY.COM.AU, you want something from SONY, buy them offline or elsewhere, just not SONY.COM.AUSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Awful customer service
I had a number of problems with my online order of a television and sound bar from the Sony Store.
Firstly, the sound bar arrived but not the TV. After two phone calls, the couriers found the 'lost' TV, and got it to me.
When the TV arrived, the screen was damaged beyond repair. Sony asked me to send them photos of the damage, which I did, and said they would get back to me in 48 hours. 4 days and multiple telephone calls later, they finally agreed to replace the TV. They emailed me some bar codes and a number to arrange for collection of...Read more
the TV myself. After receiving the TV back, they then spent several days 'checking the status' of the return. It took many phone calls to get a replacement dispatched by them, which finally arrived 4 weeks after my initial order. I will never buy anything from the Sony Store again, and would suggest that you do not either.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst delivery
There is no way to get your purchases delivered unless you spend a whole day on the phone... seems unreal nowadays. They send you an email to schedule a redelivery with a link that does not work, not to mention that there are not references to redelivery in sony's site or DHL.
Once you get on the phone, be ready to get the most cold and

Multi Device Review over many years
Let's start back in the day with the old audio units, ps2/3 and a few TV's.. They worked and probs still work till this day many many years later right.. So now let's hear about the famous Japanese saying cakes Sony Timer (inherited counts on prints to make a device fail so you need a new one) so they e large life a little for a few devices but they advertise top level for really the same exact quality you would get/expect from much lower devices. So I'll share a few personal experiences below..
*Sony notebook cost 2K AUD IN YEAR 2000. Took ...Read more
a look at sf of time to boot after format within 6 months. Reason..Sony bloatware, cheap cooling and by God the cheapest Chinese ram available. System is a write of 3 years later.. SONY TIMER. *Sony Experia X PERFORMANCE.. yes I capitalised the performance point because as of Oreo 8.0 it takes me a good 3 minutes if it has not hanged to switch between apps at time or to explore a link. Now let me add I have purchased a note 9 for my wife and moved from my edge 8 to the Experia because my screen has seen a few roads. However doing a live stream today with no additional aps open I could not participate in a catch of the day black Friday live event because the xperia could not handle it. (it was like running a high end game on a pentium 3) so I went back to my cracked screen edge 8 to partake in the event. ,* this may just be luck but I have A SONY hifi system that has performed well but also has had a few dramas wher MUTE on all inputs was its preferred choice (a hard reset and 20 mind of re calibration resolved). But I wonder it's now in its third year should I start looking for sales elsewhere ie. Yamaha. Denon. This post really resolves around the absute poor performance of the X performance and the branding of it, I do feel my old Nokia's may be up for a greater task than this phone. This was the second xperia in a row. Hmm sony freaken sony timer Ayr.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Face to face sales service.
I needed a replacement battery for my little SONY Cybershot and, when visiting a large Sydney camera shop, I was told "SONY do not make my wanted battery any more and best get a new camera". On Friday, 23/11/2018, I found your Parramatta Westfield shop and was greatly impressed by one Dennis Newsome on the sales desk. I brought a new battery and was given some sound advice regarding my future needs for macro photography.
First rate face-to-face service.
Ian.

Sony Australia Support
Recently my Sony Android tv has frozen and refuses to boot. I have tried all the Sony fixes of their web site of soft reset and hard reset all to no avail.
Sony has an on line support service that allows a customer to send in an email inquiry. I filled out the online form and mailed it in twice with no response at all from Sony over the period of a week.
Sony also have Live Chat on their web site that they say is available 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. When I try and use Live Chat at 10:18 am on a Saturday I get the response " your chat request has been canceled because no agents are available. Live Chat does not work at all.
Terrible service from Sony and they need to do better

Faulty website, useless offshore customer service
Made an order last week for a new playstation. When I pressed purchase the paypal payment was sent through however their website said "your order could not be processed there has been a technical error". Spent the next 4 days trying to resolve the issue and have my order refunded or reprocessed. Their call centre mucked me around promising to return my calls when the issue was rectified. had to call them each time to chase up and they hadn't bothered contacting me. literally every person i spoke to said something different which leave me to believe they were just guessing half the time and no idea what was going on and couldn't do anything. really terrible experience with sony, hope it doesn't reflect in their products

Not the best live chat support team
Contacted the live chat support team today. Explained my bravia tv wont turn on after a blackout. I was asked when and where I bought it and how old the tv was plus my postcode. I got given a phone number to ring up a service retailer. As soon as I said thank you( thanks for not helping me much) the person couldnt say bye and close the chat window sooner!! Guess my local electronics store would probably give more insight to it.

Poor offshore customer service
I had an issue with my car stereo. I tried phoning the customer support line. Gave up waiting in the queue. Then I tried chat but kept on getting disconnected as no chat agents were available for over 2 hours and you cant just resubmit, you have to type the entire story each time. Finally get through on the phone, the offshore doesn't understand the issue but is sure a software upgrade will solve it, but then declares there is no upgrade for my model. Was given another number to call but got a generic voicemail and still waiting for a reply.

Terrible customer service
I am extremely disappointed in Sony. They have the reputation of having "fantastic" TVs etc, but ours has had problems from the start, and when asking for help over the phone, you essentially get rejected and your case is "closed" with no investigation even being done.
Not good enough!!

Questions & Answers
Damien J.asked
Sent my Sony Xperia can ultra back for repair under warranty, they could not repair so they sent a replacement phone a refurbished phone made from used parts, was so disappointed, why not a new phone??
1 answer
Hi Damien, I feel you should get a new phone & not a used phone. Contact consumer affairs for ?possible? help. I'm disheartened with Sony. They make some great equipment BUT should own up to their responsibilities when problems happen! I'm certain if they did they would win back MANY a customer who left them rather than making life difficult for customers like you & I who have supported them. Makes good business sense but it's also the right thing to do as life's to short & it's time for corporations to do the right thing. HEY? Good luck mate!
