BUYER BEWARE
BUYER BEWARE DONT BUY A SUBARU - We hit an animal whilst driving on a freeway and damaged our 2017 WRX. The car was reparable and has been at the smash repairer for TWO MONTHS WAITING FOR SUBARU TO BRING PARTS IN FROM JAPAN!!!! AND the parts are still a few weeks away!! This is serious contempt and disrespect shown towards Subaru customers. Subaru should keep the parts in stock in Australia but instead they save a few dollars and make us wait for them to bring the parts in from overseas when required...!! THAT IS A VERY POOR BUSINESS ETHIC AND ONE THAT SUBARU SHOULDN'T DO!! i WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SUBARU EVER IN BUSINESS OR FOR PRIVATE USE!!

Very Poor Customer Engagement and Backchat, Gobsmacked is the only word
Well I have to say after 25 plus years in business (some of it in Sales), this takes the cherry.
Let me pre-quailfy this review with, I have bought an SUV (CRV AWD Turbo Model) with the features and spec I wanted from Austral Honda who are very professional and I know the quality, reliability and the fact they honour their promises. Very professional.
Now, the Subaru experience :(
I walk in and am a cash buyer and would take the car off the lot that day if possible, doesn't get simpler than that.
No mess no fuss, here's what I have to spend can I get something in this spec range, yes then deal done.
I have my own business to get on with.

Poor Customer engagement - Subaru Glen Waverley
Upon approaching the premises we were greeted by a bloke which was all fine, however as soon as we stepped in the showroom to have a look around, the vibe of the room was not very enthusiastic. We were ready to buy but because of the lack of engagement by the salesmen we were put off and did not want to deal with them.

Subaru docklands
I was very happy with the professional service that I received at Subaru Docklands when I purchased my new Outback. There was no pressure to buy add-on's or get finance that I didn't need. We agreed on a price acceptable to us both without any hassle, nice and easy just the way I like it, and I just love the car.
Well done Docklands, you've won me.

Poor customer engagement - Subaru crossroads Glendale
My company is looking to purchase a new vehicle for me through a fleet group, I was asked to go to my nearest dealer and look at the potential vehicle models that may interest me, I visited the Crossroads Subaru dealership and spoke to a sales agent, I test drove a Subaru XV and loved the car, In my mind this was the car Id be requesting. I was then introduced to the dealer principle, his attitude toward me was appalling to say the least and when he didn't get the answers to his questions he turned his back on me and walked back into his offic...Read more
e, he then continued to argue from behind his desk. I was totally blown away by his behavior in front of his sales staff. I commented that he has just blown the opportunity and I would not ever deal with crossroads again. Sorry Subaru, i loved the car but wont be recommending this dealership.Similar opinion? Schmick Repairs
Purchased a Schmick premium pack when I purchased my new Forester. We scraped the front bumper and needed it repaired. Called Schmick $50 later it was all repaired at home. They sent a text through six weeks later advising we needed to have the paint protection reapplied to the area at no extra cost. Can't get any better service than that.
Highly recommend Subaru, especially the staff at Narellan Subaru.

Subaru Narellan
Excellent Service provide by David the assistant manager. They could have included a few more extras but genuinely easy to talk to and not to pushy.

Had to take the car in to Cricks Springwood for a recall on vehicle.
Car faulted 20 mins after leaving - all hazard lights flashing -
Got issued with a $145.00 bill - which was never discussed - just presented on pick up.

Bad customer service
I had $26000. to spend on a second hand or demo xv model and they had one in Osmond park Subaru, tried to negotiate but was given a flat no with no options. Subaru Melville were a lot more helpful on a simular xv model,
very helpful and could not do enough for us and gave us a great deal, very happy. I will not be going back to Osmond Park Subaru.

Subaru Doncaster
I rate the Subaru service people A1. But it's a different matter in the show room. Asked for a price on my vehicle for a trade in. Sales staff took pics and assured me they would message me the trade in price that day. By the way the car was a Subaru bought new from the Doncaster dealer shoIp 2 years prior.
No contact back from them regarding trade in on a new vehicle. Next day l rang to enquire about a lost gold earring
, thinking l may have lost it in their show room. Phone was answered by one of the sales staff who was so rude and infor...Read more

Excellent Customer Service - even when you are not a customer
I recently had an excellent experience at McGrath Subaru Service in Liverpool, NSW.
I am not even a customer but they were most helpful, even when it was clear they were very busy, when my Subaru broke-down nearby. They were responsive, polite, helpful and helped organise towing of my car to my regular garage, and even gave me a lift. They did not charge me. Thanks you very much Matthew Sultana and team.

Rude Salesman
We went to the Frankston Subaru dealerships on Easter Monday with the intention of buying a new Outback with trade in that day. The sole salesman working seemed extremely frustrated that he hadn't been able to close a deal with another couple who had spent several hours with him.
We took a test drive, then went to lunch as the salesman was still busy with that couple. When we came back we heard the male customer tell the salesman " I find that offensive", so things clearly weren't advancing well towards a sale. When he was finally free, he we...Read more

A complete and fill filling experience.
When you are deciding to buy a new motor vehicle it is important that you are given all the information you require to make the right decision. This also needs to be without any sales pressure until you are satisfied about the vehicle you want to buy.
At Subaru Mentone I was really happy and pleasantly surprised by the approach and knowledge of the product that the sales rep demonstratedduringthe process that My wife and went through. We took our time and were really treated as genuine customers rather than a quick sale to. I visited all the 5 main competitive manufactures offering the compact suv and Subaru Mentone stood out head and shoulders above all with there attitude, approach and product knowledge. It was an easy decision to make .

Slow and deceptive.
Booked my Subaru for an airbag replacement wheel balance and wheel alignment. Told Subaru I would be picking it up first thing Tuesday morning after the long weekend.
On pickup I was told they where possibly still doing the wheel alignment and the receptionist said they will check. I explained that I was surprised that the car might not be ready as original pickup was days ago.
On return the receptionist informed me that the Mechanic was just doing a final quality inspection before releasing the vehicle and it want take too much longer.

Subaru Penrith review - terrible customer service disappointing.
We went to Subaru Penrith to look at a Liberty and trade in our car. Firstly, their ability to negotiate is poor and not helpful.
We then found a better deal with Subaru Narellan (which we did not realise was owned by Trivett as well). As courtesy, we told the sales rep that we found a better deal ($3,000 better). Instead of negotiating with us, he took one hour and called up the Subaru Narellan team and cancelled our deal!!!! Talk about unfair! What was worse, they pretended that they didn't do this even though Narellan told us that they got ...Read more

They don't talk to each other at Mentone Subaru.
Bought a Nissan Maxima for my son at asking price (price had been dropped so appeared a good deal) and arranged with the salesman that my wife and son would pick up the car on the Saturday morning. This was not communicated to the lady who "schedules appointments" and she seemed very put out and was rude to my wife. After much effort she agreed and set a time that was convenient to their business on Sat afternoon. Wife and son waited over an hour to do paperwork on a car that was already prepaid for. Upon getting back home from my weekend away ...Read more
my son and I took the car for a drive and I had failed to notice that the front passenger side speaker was blown. As the car was not under warranty ( too old ) I was told that nothing could be done even though this was clearly faulty before we bought the car. A very shortsighted way to do business as my wife and I will never buy a new car there nor would we recommend this dealership.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bought a 2018 Subaru wrx . Just been told that I need to pay $749 odd dollars to have the back shock absorbers replaced already . Car has done 40000 Klm ???? Is this right wouldn’t it be done under warranty?
4 answers
Hi O
You would need to check your paperwork and see what is covered under the warranty.
S
Shock absorbers are a consumable item like filters etc. Unless the car suspension has been hammered constantly on poor roads I think that they would be good for 100,000km..
How did you go with this?
Shouldn't matter what is written about the warranty, if you can justify that the shocks would normally last longer that 40000km (given that the car has been used as intended), I would think that they should be replaced in accordance with the consumer guarantee under the Australian consumer law

My 2002 Liberty sedan is rather reluctant to change up gears most days and is also rather sluggish when going up steep gradients, I am wondering if anyone has had problems like this with theirs and if so what has been done to rectify the issues?

Hi Mitch,
your car is now some 14 years old and perhaps it is nearing the end of its useful life. Obvious suggestion is to take it to your trustworthy mechanic to have a look at or to consider getting a new Subaru. The Outback is incredibly capable and good car. Good luck.
Ivan36, I should have also mentioned that it has nearly 250K on the clock, and is starting to sound rather agricultural....perhaps you're right....might give the mechanic a buzz in the next week and get a once over

Have purchased a Subaru Outback 2010 2L Diesel manual had only done 36,000kms but within months of purchasing it the clutch, flywheel and whole engine need replacing apparently due to the Diesel Particle Filter. It is covered by the Subaru 12 month warranty however Subaru won't do anything about the problem. Has anyone else had to replace their engine in a Subaru Outback 2010 2L Diesel? Any ideas on how to get Subaru to come to the party?
3 answers
I was advised not to buy diesel for this reason. Apparently Australian fuel is the problem, higher sulphur than Europe and it means the filters clog quickly. It's not a Subaru only issue.
Following on from this. THe car needs $16,800 worth of repairs to replace the entire engine, flywheel, clutch, turbo, head gasket and Subaru ROseberry won't pay anything to cover the cost of repairs. This car is covered under the 12 month Subaru Assured Warranty however they won't stand by this we are left out of pocket to cover the repairs. The General Manager's attitude is they have to make profit!. Never ever buy a Subaru from Roseberry. Absolutely appalling customer service.
The Subaru Outback 2010 manual diesel is a piece of crap. It was the first diesel manual manufactured by Subaru, an absolute disaster and Subaru won't admit to it, they should have refunded every customer for this piece of crap.
