Poor customer service
Visited store on a Sunday. No other customers in store at the time. Four staff at the counter yet I walked around for at least 25 minutes before getting any assistance. I had to almost tackle an assistant to get any help.
These guys don't offer any refunds like most stores - only store credit. This condition isn't displayed in store, listed on the invoice or provided to the client at point of sale.
I will take my business elsewhere.

Not much of customer care experience
I purchased a Coleman Shelter Event 14 Deluxe, which I was happy with. I went back to the store to get another after a month or two. I have bought other things before from that store. The person behind the counter that was available (whom I've learned later is the manager) has not helped me much and was not very friendly. I am a friendly and peaceful 59 year old bare foot and dreadie hair. I am not sure it was my looks. er to pay. I mentioned to the manager that I also have a light purchased from there that started developing a leak from one of the seams (inflatable light). We discussed that. Since I was buying at the time, he was even willing to send it for warranty if there is manufacturer issue without the receipt. The second shelter purchased, I set in my yard for one month. We had a windy storm, which broke all eight of the lines holding the shelter. The shelter was pushed into the trees and the canopy got ripped. Knowing from my older shelter, the ropes provided with the shelter do not handle the sun much. I was able to pull easily on the rope and snap it. I had replaced all the ropes of the older shelter but did not get to the new one on time. I took the ripped canopy to the store. The manager pretended he did not see me before in front of another employee, then he blamed his lack of recognition on misunderstanding the issue. The other employee even had to explain to him, as he seemed very defensive when the word warranty came along. Then even though he said he remembered me buying the shelter, he insisted on my\e having the receipt (I am not sure if it can not be searched online. After that he asked me if the shelter was stationary. Since I did not put it down yet and had been up for a month I said yes. That was it. He was not interested in looking at how brittle and poor quality the ropes are. He said this is not made to be stationary. I insisted that he applies for warranty to Coleman, he reluctantly did. I do not know what transpired that a brand like Coleman would reject seeing how poor quality the ropes are like and rejected the warranty. I don't feel the store tries to help, but pushes products out. This is very immature way to run a business, as it is only little bit of money, it is not worth loosing a customer.1 comment

Strong cigarette smell and very rude staff
Could smell cigarette smoke through the whole shop, it was disgusting. The Lady helping my husband went to double check with someone to make sure she was selling us the right gas fitting, the younger man she asked let out a big sigh and then snapped at her it's not that bloody hard yes that's the right one. Very unprofessional to publicly humiliate someone I felt embarrassed for her. The Lady also helped find my son's toy which he put down on a shelf. We will not be shopping at the Burleigh Heads shop again.

Shocking service
I bought a few products here a while back including a waterproof spray for my tent. As soon as I put it on it ruined it, it stained green marks all over it leaving my brand new tent ruined. I took it back wanting an explanation or a refund I was told it was an issue with the tent and to take the tent back to bcf where it was purchased. This was hard for me to understand because an employee at tent world recommended this product in the fist place. yer to the material. They explained that tents are normally water resistant not water proof so this would be needed. When I returned to the shop to explain the situation I was left to deal with an arrogant employee who was very rude to my partner and I. This employee insisted it wasn't his problem and it was bcf's issue. I'm pretty sure bcf isn't the problem mate? This sales associate just tried passing on the issue like it wasn't his problem. This employee had quite the attitude for a backyard camper who kept gobbling off about his "experiences" with waterproofing and camping. I will never shop there again after this disappointing experience. Even when taking this to the headoffice I was told they cannot do anything about it. This was less then helpful and we are now left with a brand new tent that is absolutely ruined. Thanks for taking $400 out of my pocket for your lack of training.Similar opinion? No Customer Service & No Warranty
Bought an Oztrail fast frame 300 tent from Windsor store. Took their recommendation and spent a bit more (total $300) on something "good" quality. Used four times always with a groundsheet as per their recommendation. Flooring started to separate in about half a dozen places. Returned to store within the 12 month warranty period and [name removed] began by giving nothing but excuses. ated me as a "chump" The next day I get a phone call (not from [name removed])...warranty claim denied. Well I was always taught "it's not the problem, it's how you handle the problem which matters to Customers!" so Tent-World spectacularly failed on this one. Great advice!
Matt the manager at Burleigh stores is very experienced in every aspect of camping.he took us through the whole shop yesterday and gave us genuine honest advice on all our camping needs.we spent the majority of the day there.we went in uncertain of what we exactly needed and we walked out with everything that we needed,with all of it the best recommended gear.matt was very thorough in showing us each product and even backed up his advice by demonstrating a complete setup and takedown of a tent that we purchased.if u visit the Burleigh store make sure to touch base with Matt as he is the store manager and a top bloke in pointing u in the right direction of all ur camping decisions.

Tentworld don't want to know you if you have a problem with a product they sell
Bought an Everdure neo BBQ. hot plate poor design. Didn't work. Food slide into oil trap. Tentworld wouldn't replace it with a plate that would work. Wanted me to do all the running around. Said I could look on eBay or call Everdure direct. Only had the bbq for 3 months, used twice.
They never resolved my problem. The guy said happily to sell you more stuff...But wouldn't fix the problem. Sums Tentworld up happy to take your money but not work to get a happy customer. They must not be looking to get repeat customers.

excellent light portable camping wood stove
excellent small portable camping or backyard wood stove, easy to light and keep the fire going, flue pipes fit inside the stove when carrying and the stove is very light under ten kgs. stove fits in a sports bag. very happy with the tas flinders some of the paint will come off in the first burn but this is not a problem,, thank you tentworld for quick delivery.

first time buyer - I'll be back
bought several items - tent, sleeping bags, camp chairs & a mozzie coil holder, all arrived within a week, most of what i bought was on sale saving well over $900 had I of bought locally from one of the bigger chain stores. have already recommended Snowys to my mates and they too are getting ready for our xmas trip. cheers guys.

Terrible back up service
We have spent thousands with this store. We bought more gear last long weekend and had a faulty light set straight out of the box. Not only did we have a faulty item for the whole weekend, but they refused a refund on the item, even after they tested it faulty themselves. Won't shop there again.
