Not even usable. Cannot believe such a thing exists. It is terrible.
It says you can connect the GPS to your phone, well naturally you think you can google stuffs on your phone then transfer the address or the route, but you are wrong, you cannot, you can only use TomTom app to search addresses which doesn't use Google, and virtually has no information about medium or small business, or inside camps addresses.
They removed the Sims from GPSs, now TomTom GPS cannot get traffic information without connecting to a phone, and their app should run in background which is terrible, drains the battery, keeps showing no...Read more
t connected even when it is connected. It's so stupid product, if I have to use my phone to get this garbage working, then I will use my phone, I would not need a GPS. They advertise a drawback as a feature. If we cannot goggle an address then what does "can be connected to phone mean"? Does it mean please connect it to your phone because we wanted to cut the cost and removed Sims and btw, we didn't bother ourselves to at least create an app which can work properly without killing your phone? Apart from it, it has no traffic information, because it doesn't use Google traffic information and not many people use TomTom GPSs anymore. It forces you to accept sending all your information to TomTom otherwise would not let you use traffic information, which is crappy anyway. Read reviews on Google Play about their app to see what I am talking about. The whole product is a useless device. I asked for returning the product and it is nightmare to find out how you can return it, took me an hour to find links, deliberately hidden, their website pushes you to QA section, put you in a annoying loop, once you finally submit your return request, they keep asking what is wrong? You say it is garbage, has no address information, they say no problem, send us the addresses we will check!!! You say the device doesn't use Google, they say, we didn't say you can, we just say you can connect it to your phone. Was a nightmare discussion, they absolutely think people are fool.

not as good as previous tom tom now not supported
The speed you are going on it is tiny compared to my previous one (i have set on the largest font & it's still tiny compared to previous one), I can't get it to auto answer, It doesn't have school zones just speed zones. It doesn't have different sounds for this either. This model has gone backwards. disappointed

Waste of money
Unfortunately I cannot get the directional arrow to point in the direction I am travelling. Seems a fairly basic requirement. Very disconcerting when the directional arrow is pointing towards you as you drive. I have had many satnavs in the past, none of which have had this problem. There are other navigation systems out there, I suggest you avoid tomtom.

Rubbish
This product is meant to be for Trucks and buses as advertised by TomTOM, i bought it specifically for the Plan a route option on (mydrive.tomtom.com) where you can make your own route with multiple stops on the computer and transfer it to the devise. the idea is great however it doesn't work, if you are planing to go through specific streets this will take you in circles, and the map is not updated and it will show you that some roads are closed while in reality its not closed, called their support and half of their team have no idea how it wo...Read more

completely useless. it took 4 hours to setup
I tried to set unit up using my email details. it said I couldn't because my email already existed with Tom Tom. The reason my email details existed with Tom Tom was I have already had 2 previous units from Tom Tom. it took 4 hours to rectify. this is ridiculous if they expect you to change your email address every time you buy a new unit. I tried to send an email to their help desk, but it wouldn't allow me as my email address already existed with Tom Tom. this is woeful conduct to waste 4 hours of my life. Pathetic time wasters. I won't buy from Tom Tom ever again.Neanderthals

Not A Wise Purchase
Standard, these days, no provision of E-mail contact that works. I had a VIA 160 that took years to get used to. Then it became obsolete for maps, so I purchased a new GO 620 at the TomTom special offer price to get into a device that has(?) lifetime maps.
A rather big disappointment.

New Go 620 not Fit For Purpose - Oops - unable to access TomTom Services -
Brand new out of the Go 620 box and will not connect to WiFi even after the recommended factory reset. I bought this Go 620 without research based on a good experience with much older TomToms but this unit is no good and I am about to return it to JB HiFi and if they don't help me I will leave it on the counter and leave.

Good for basic nav, don’t know about the extra features
Bought in December 2018 because we wanted World Maps for USA. Maps were impossible to load, had to contact technical support & eventually got there. For USA, we found we couldn’t search any place names, even well known ones wouldn’t come up. So we spent ages putting in full addresses. We found there was a delay in auto correcting, and were often told to turn right when we were at the intersection & it was too late.
Pros: nice big & clear display, turns on quick. 3D not always clear.

The pairing process is the biggest heap of junk interface I have ever met.
I am a long-term geek so I am extremely familiar with a wide range of IT products and have interfaced items even at component level. I am very happy with the Tomtom device and, when it is working, the information it gets via my Android. Unfortunately pairing the Tomtom Go 620 (it is likely to be identical in the G0 520) is painful. Repeated attempts to pair fail with essentially no helpful information. I am left sitting there wondering why it didn’t work yet again - and I my Tomtom still can't access traffic data.

Ordinary. Not value for money
Very little functions. For example upon startup it goes into its default display....why? Why not use last display option or use a preferred display option?
It's a solid constructed unit, so it got a star for that. But everything else is not worth the money. For example there is no easy to read 2d display and no option to set the display direction (eg North)

A regression into high tech overkill
I had to update from the prior GO 620 when I lost all voice narration. I tried "Hello TomTom" in 'Voice Control' without success - just a response that the unit couldn't recognise ANY commands which included the word "voice".
In January 2022, I bought the latest model.
Now, there is no option to use one of the beautifully anglicised male or female (Jane?) voice pronunciations. Further, I'm told that to explore such options, I have to go through a series of 'on-line' gyrations to have any restoration of freedom of choice. Why, I'll never know !! It would have been so simple to return this control to "settings", then a listing and samples of "voice" options.

Finnicky.....not as good as the model that it superseded.
I had a great run with my previous Tomtom so decided to buy a new one when the 2G network was turned off and the Live Traffic Feature (the reason that I bought a Tomtom initially) no longer worked.
Is the GO620 an improvement (like you would expect) over the previous model?
The good-
*Unit loads up quicker from a start.....that's the only improvement that I have found.
The bad:-
I had 2 extra cradles to suit the old Tomtom for the 3 cars that I drive regularly. Tomtom designed a new/different cradle for the new model so I had to get 2 extra cradles to suit the GO620. Not happy about that.
The ugly:- ...Read more
I purchased my unit directly from Tomtom after speaking to a customer representative. *You need a Smartphone for the 'Live Traffic' to work. This information was not stated to me prior to purchase...nor is it written in large lettering on the box that the unit came in. It IS mentioned, however in the directions. I have friends who still don't have a Smartphone. The GO620 would work (for them) the same as my old unit worked for me with the 2G network no longer operational. *You have to configure the Tomtom to Wifi and Bluetooth to set it up. *You also need to download the Tomtom app 'My Drive' onto your phone.. *The 'Live Traffic' feature is a juggle to establish on each trip. *You have to turn the Bluetooth on in your phone and turn on the 'Mobile WiFi Hotspot' feature. *You also need to open the Tomtom app 'My Drive'. *Then you have to hope.... Sometimes I need to turn the Tomtom off and re-start for it to link with my phone. Other times I need to turn the Bluetooth on my phone off and then on again. Sometimes they just don't talk to eachother. The 'Live Traffic' feature is ok when the planets line-up and it is working...but it is certainly nowhere near infallible. Sometimes it just gives bogus information. *My Tomtom has led me into a street that cars were not allowed in, leading me to get a large fine and a loss of points. *For several years both Tomtoms have directed me to use a street that feeds onto a main road that is accessible only with an illegal turn. I have learnt to avoid this instruction but it leads to a lack of faith in other instructions that it gives. Compared to my previous Tomtom, this one is rubbish. I can't see myself ever getting another Tomtom.1 comment

Hopeless 620 Does and can do a lot of damage
I had a Tom Tom Go720. LOVED IT and still have it. When running around zip-zip simple. But I need to upgrade.
Had a look at the Tom Tom latest range and the 620 looked ideal. I got this one from JB Hi Fi in Brisbane (no blame to the store)
I got the latest maps always up to date etc. BUT alas. Bluetooth is great - no issues there. Screen is large - good.
Unlike the 720 the 620 (one star) requires a lot more work to go A to B . NOT simple at all like the older 720 (5 stars) Places very hard to accurately log in (half star 620) ( 5 st...Read more

DONT BUY FROM THESE THEIVES
Buy anything other than tomtom. My Tomtom go i'd gotten for fathers day 2017 has been awful. Battery issues as doesn't hold charge & try contacting them is another horrible experience. Save your money & stay away from TomTom products or you will get burnt just as we have done. My 10 year old daughter asks why I don't use the navigator she bought me for fathers day & I don't have the heart to tell her that its rubbish & doesn't work. FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER

Not all it should be
The go 620 is a very capable GPS that has three major issues.
1) the unit overheats and shuts down far too easily.
2) it needs to be reset every few months which can be frustrating.
3) strangely tomtom decided to ship them with a usb adaptor that their support team claims is not powerful enough to run them continuously. They even go as far as to suggest charging the unit with a computer each night. (I will note that after several months of owning one I have never needed to take it out of my vehicle and suspect it is the overheating problem their support team is mistaking for a flat battery)
Other than these issues it does work well and has the ease of use that Tomtom is known for.

I neglected to mention that when connected to the Smartphone via Bluetooth and when running the 'My Drive' app, battery life in your phone is reduced substantially.
