No refund due to Covid

Trip a deal have held our money for our group trip to China which trip a deal cancelled due to Covid 2 years ago we never even got to the stage that we had received our flight details, as Covid hit months before we were due to depart.
We have all contacted trip a deal requesting details on why we can’t receive a cash refund, all of us have received the same bull shit response from trip a deal.
I hope we are given a refund before hell freezers over! We live in hope!

I was greeted by a delightful true professional who listened to our concerns.

Terrible. Never get back to you
Bought a deal with them which was interrupted due to covid. They offered us a credit which we took. Have tried to re-book another deal. However borders were no opening in time. Tried several times to change the date and every time we contact them they say they will get back to us regarding date change but never did. We managed to get through to someone today who said the dates we wanted were not available but forgot to mention it to us. So we gave 3 other dates and they said that they would confirm a date by the end of the day, which they haven’t. A company who cares about taking your money and providing nothing in return. Will never use them again and will warn others.

Not good enough
This company doesn't care or understand Covid.....we have all been affected by this pandemic and all our businesses have suffered just as much as Tripadeal, but you have shown no compassion or integrity regarding refunds for holidays we have not been able to use (no fault of our own). You seem to think you can keep our hard-earned money (which most people have saved for) for your own financial security....I would like to point out, there is nothing 'normal' about the last 2 years ...we are all affected, but most businesses have managed to act with rectitude during this unpredected time in living history. Please do not reply with your condescending reply of how sorry your are, because that is pure crap

Cancelled trip due to covid 19
Booked through agent trip was cancelled due to covid, we were offered a credit less agent commission, we’re told no more charges would be deducted from our credit voucher . Credit voucher is to expire dec 21 but we cannot travel at this stage nor do we want to especially overseas still due to covid situation .
Haven’t heard from agent or trip a deal .
Other members of our group have asked for a refund but tripadeal say they can not tell us how much our refund would be as they would have to take out fees to suppliers - seems strange especi...

re: Bad communication
I booked a deal to Seaworld and couldn't go due to Covid Restrictions in Victoria. I called to let them know and had several discussions. They wanted me to change the date for travel, but as I wasn't sure when we could travel next due to taking time off work/ border restrictions etc I didn't want to set a date as they charge $50 every time you set a date. Tripadeal knew I couldn't travel on those dates and knew I was hesitant to pick a date from thin air because their policy makes you pay $50 every time you change the date. I booked this same deal with Qantas for my mother and it was no problem at all to pause the deal as we couldn't Travel. I felt like they were not hearing me or understanding my position. Booking "Unbeatable India" for the third time due to Covid
I was very fortunate to receive a call-back from Margurete Beesley who had spoken to me many months ago when my first two attempts at doing this trip were cancelled due to Covid. Margurete is very knowledgeable, efficient and a delight to speak to, and was able to put my credits together and rebook the trip of my choice. A credit to Tripadeal.

Don't Risk Booking With TripADeal
My wife and I booked a holiday to Tasmania for mid November 2021 and paid TripADeal in full.
On 22nd September they emailed me to cancel the 9 day package due to "global health crisis," and in doing so offered a travel credit. We rang TripADeal to rebook anytime earlier or later this year but they said no bookings were available until next year, therefore we requested a payment refund because TripADeal cancelled the booking not us and they had no future travel dates that suited my wife and I.

TripADeal talk big about their "book with confidence" guarantee but that is a falsity, DONT BE TRICKED, once TripADeal has your money they will strenuously resist any refund of your payment regardless of the circumstances. There is no grey area here and no misunderstanding, TripADeal's policy on "refunds" is dishonorable at best and illegal at worst.Frustrated and angry

Hoping for a good outcome.
Had to cancel 5 day Red Centre, Uluru, Kings Canyon in August, as well as pre and post tour accomodation because we were locked down in Vic.
Rebooked the Red centre just yesterday and agent said we cannot use the leftover $1020 credit for accomodation pre and post tour!! This tour does not work with hotels /motels at Alice Springs. We offered to book the pre and post tour accomodation and Trip a deal fix the “tab”. No go!!
Explained to agent because we will be driving from Vic we need that accomodation. Still “no deal”.

Avoid TripADeal
Terrible service, several times we have tried to get a credit from TripADeal, other family members are having the same problem, there communication is extremely poor and they are making up stories about Hotels needing to release the funds so we can make another booking (we have rung the Hotel direct to ask them why they are holding our money when we can spend it with them somewhere else). We don't even want a refund just want to rebook somewhere so we can stay inside the border and avoid lockdowns. Stay away from these guys smells like they are in trouble and we are still trying to get a credit to use.

Do not book with these guys!
We have been trying to get a refund for 2 years now after our trip was cancelled due to Covid. There is no consistency in their responses, poor communication & they keep changing the goal posts in terms of what we are entitled to.
Please don't book through these guys, not worth the stress and loss of money.

The vagaries of travel cancellations...
The TripADeal team are terrific. We live in difficult times. Our Borneo trip became a Byron trip that has been cancelled twice & hasn't yet eventuated....such a shame for all concerned, but we just have to roll with what life throws us right now. We paid for our trip in full August 2022. The trip to Borneo was cancelled due to CO-vid . Since then we have been given delay tactic after delay tactic. Always seem to have to wait another three months...then another three months. Today we get the excuse that they have been in lock down so no staff. Considering we are in Victoria and have experienced more lockdowns than any other state...we still managed to work from home. therefore NO EXCUSE. Please refund our money it was over $10000.00.

terrible refund conditions
Two years ago we booked a trip to China and Japan but due to Covid the trip was put back . The same thing happened last year. Since then my husband had a very serious heart attack and needs further treatment . After submitting all doctors/specialist paper work apparently this is not a good enough excuse for getting our $4000 back from Trip a Deal. What does it take to be considered ?. We are all struggling with loss of wages due to Covid and we find this unexceptable. I will not be booking any further trips with Trip a deal . This is totally wrong and if they had any remorse at all a refund would be given .

Will not travel or book with Trip a Deal again if possible.
We booked our Canada and Alaska trip 12 months ahead of our May 20 departure. COVID struck and our trip was canceled by Trip a Deal. After many phone and emails, we have only been able to obtain a partial refund of our near $13,000. We are both in our later years with poor health. We will not be travelling any time in the future. This trip was to be our last outlay while we were still able to travel.

Won’t ever use Trip a deal again
We knew we had a credit with Trip a deal and wanted to put it towards another trip a deal holiday. We were told we can’t because our money wasn’t refunded from the hotel and we have to wait. So we rebooked. We now have to hope in six months that we can do this holiday. But also when we booked the trip we found out that we could of booked with the company for the same price. I would just like people to understand that their advertising isn’t all it’s made out to be. Trip a deal prices aren’t cheap and you then have the worry of just accumulating credits.

Don't use Trippa Deal they take your money without providing the service

I'm going to state my experience dealing with Tripadeal .
In a nutshell we from Victoria could not travel to Qld because of border restrictions . We asked Tripadeal for a refund because they could not uphold Thier end of the contract and we could not uphold our end of the contract and arrive in Qld for our holiday .
It was at sea World resort . I rang sea World a day before we were due to arrive and they said it had been cancelled .
I thought well this is good because we did not cancel it and break our contract.

Happy with service
We booked a package to Uluru through Trip A Deal. Our contact, Margurete, was very helpful. She responded to our queries quickly even though she must have been extremely busy as this was during a Corona outbreak and there would have been many cancellations happening. And our booking ended up being one of them. About 10 days out, we received a call from Brooke to discuss the viability of our trip. It was decided that it couldn’t go ahead for us. I was pleased to find out we would have a full credit and was happy with the conditions. I have just received the credit note about 3 weeks after the discussion. I would have given the service 5 stars except that we had to take a credit rather than a refund.

An absolute punish to deal with
We booked and paid in full for a trip to New York, Canada and Alaska in 2018 to travel in September 2022. In March 2022 Covid happened. I am still emailing backwards and forwards with Trip-a-Deal to see a single cent of my $15,000.00 returned. A disgrace to deal with, I would never recommend this business to anyone.

Fantastic service
I tried to book a trip online last night and could not complete the booking. When the advertised trip was marked as sold out this morning, I called Trip A Deal. Margurete was fantastic to deal with and secured the booking not only for us but the 2nd travelling party. We got the final 2 spaces on the trip. Margurete made everything so easy and went above and beyond to make this booking possible.
